Bistro De Pimpernel opened its doors back in 1985. Over the years, the restaurant has grown into a true concept in Hoofddorp and the surrounding area, under the careful management of Raymond and Tanja Ruijg. The bistro is an informal French specialities restaurant with a menu which changes with the seasons. The restaurant also boasts a very extensive wine list. De Pimpernel is open every day from 17.00 pm except Sundays.
The first time we dined at Pimpernel, Raymond warned us against ordering too much. Boy, was he right!! From the amazing soups and appetizers through main courses prepared with nothing but the freshest ingredients and incredible skill to desserts which should be illegal, Pimpernel is a superb restaurant. Not at all stuffy, and almost luke duning in the home of a friend, I encourage anyone who wants a special treat to dine here.
Went twice, and left on both occasions eager to return.

Ordered spanish tapas as a starter really good especially the sausage and the ham. The choice of cheese could have been a little bit more tasty though. The tournedos as Main course was a great choice. Cooked exactly as i desired. Everything with a nice red wine (cabernet sauvignon). Service was great although i expect that the 1st glass of wine should be served.

Can't speak highly enough of this small but great restaurant. A must book venue as spaces are limited but the food is splendid! The character of the old windmill is fantastic from the footless glasses to the barn like feel, the drink Delivery system, candle lit tables and the menu on a clog! An experience you must try if you are travelling through Nieuw Vennep!

Visited Jacques because it was close to the Hotel where we stayed and the reviews were good. We were not disappointed. One of the best meals during our travels through Europe. Food prepared with great care and attention. The soup and pork medallions were scrumptious. The staff member who served us was attentive and was knowledgeable about the menu.
If this restaurant was in my neighbourhood I would be a regular visitor!

I nearly didn't enter the restaurant as the separate entrance area had no one in attendance and after I'd browsed the menu I had to wait until someone noticed I was waiting. The tables are arranged around a central partitioned off area so it was hard for staff in the dining room to see the entrance area. The restaurant was not busy so that may be why there was no one to meet potential diners at the door.
Once seated I was able to place my order and was not kept waiting long before the food began to arrive. The menu is extensive and covers various styles of Chinese cooking plus some Thai and Indonesian dishes. I had dim sum as a starter chose a Szechuan dish for my main and I was not disappointed. The food was delicious and the main course was a very generous portion size too.
Overall a very good meal and quite reasonably priced.

Went to this Vier Seizoenen restaurant after spending the afternoon around the Tulips fields in surrounding Lisse area. We managed to get a table without prior Reservations. Service was good and friendly. Food was creatively fusion but very delicious. For starters, I had beef carpaccio & my boyfriend had asparagus soup. For main, I had grilled Dorade fish with quinoa & grilled vegetables in mild curry sauce and my boyfriend had linguine with green asparagus, cherry tomatoes and truffles sauce. The accompanying fennel salad was refreshing with the creamy sauces of the dishes. Wines were good too. Overall we had a great experience and would recommend this place.

This Michelin-recommended restaurant along the Ringvaart Canal is in a typical Dutch private house style with low ceilings and a rather uncomplicated décor. The cuisine is French/Dutch with occasional, slightly, Oriental influences.
The amuse-bouche including a sip of creamy soup and shrimp cocktail did pleasantly arouse my appetite. The starter with various preparations of mackerel was well above ordinary and fresh. The entremets of quail piccata with green asparagus was equally enjoyable without being stunning. The main dish of salmon and cannelloni filled with spinach was the highlight of the day; simply delicious. The wine (William Fevre Chablis 2012) paired very well with the dishes, enhancing the positive impact. For dessert, the ice cream with raspberries was decorated with white chocolate. Along with a decent cup of espresso it was a worthy closing of this meal.
The service was good and less formal than expected. The bill for two persons came to 120 Euro.
Perfect? No. But the Oude Dykhuys is a genuinely high quality restaurant that I want to visit more often, disregarding my financial constraints.

We had a very pleasant dinner in this Lebanese restaurant.
Reservation was smooth, reception gentle.
Typical Lebanese dishes, very tasteful.
The veal medallions were excellent, my partner took the mixed grill. The later was a large amount of different meat BBQed on the spot. Do not expect a lot of vegetables.
The service was swift and excellent.
The waiters polite and attentive.
Not cheap.

Been in The Netherlands countless times and finally found this gem. Homemade bread. Awesome traditional Italian starters. The real jewel in the crown is their beef. Been in Italy many times and Buoni Amici has the best tagliata we have had anywhere.

We chose this restaurant because it was within walking distance of our airport hotel Two mikes away.. The reviews were just satisfactory but we were willing to give it a try. We were pleasantly surprised at how good the food was and how lovely was the atmosphere on an open deck overlooking the water. Many locals are here, families, singles and couples of all ages. The servers were friendly helpful and very efficient. If you're in a hurry, let them know, because this is a dining experience, not a fast food joint. The smoked eel was amazingly tender and fresh and comes from a fisherman just a couple houses away. My husband had the black Angus with a delicious truffle sauce. The appetizer salad with goat cheese was huge and very tasty! We thought the value was excellent.
