Stuck in Nicoya for a night whilst visiting Barra Honda.
It's not the greatest town for tourists but stumbled across this place.
Despite my lack of Spanish and the owners lack of English we worked through ordering drinks and meals.
Food was classic Tico fare which was good, honest and cheap.

Great service and the food was just as good. six beers for 4500 colones, but since we mixed our selection, it was around an extra 600 colones. No biggie. what a good deal and great time

Good value for your colones. You can enjoy a typical meal here for about 2900 colones. The kids ordered chicken burgers. It is real chicken, not the pressed stuff. They also got many fries with it, as in most places fries on the side, is about a dozen fries. We ate here twice, the second time taking it to go. It is a busy little venue located to the North of Ronny #2 supermarket.
Next to it is a family souvenier business. If you are looking for those pretty batik wraps for wearing over a swimsuit, get it here, It is half the price of the wraps in Mal Pais. Literally half...

One word, great ceviche! Let the debate begin, I consider myself an uncertified connoisseur of good ceviche, and I considered this one of my favorites. Make sure to ask for the "Lazarus Rises" or LEVANTATE LAZARO. They also make a very good seafood stew.

Breakfast here was a delightful experience, on a beatiful day. All around is the rural area of Caimitalito, with birdsong and stuning views - a real relaxing holiday feeling, to chill-out by.
The presentation of the food was excellent, on large square plates - China, not plastic - expertly arranged, and what's more delicious, flavourful, and filling. The refresco was perfection, and the coffees huge, and top quality.
These are new owners, from El Salvador, who have continued the excellent reputation, earned by their predecessors. Many nick-nacks and rural curios adorn the walls, and ceiling, adding interest and talking points.

Located in Nicoya town a place to enjoy dishes with a italian touch
I am an egg-lacteum vegetarian and the owner was very helpful! They prepared a delicious fresh salad with mushroom and pepper omelet! He asked patience when I arrived as there were customers ahead of me in the kitchen, which was a good tip as took a little longer. But definetly worth it!

I loved this restaurant. The BBQ ribs were the best I ever had. Honestly! Not too fatty and cooked to perfection. I am sad that I probably wiill not have a reason to go to this restaurant again for a long time to come. Service was great. Nice furnishings and beautiful Gardens.

We discovered this restaurant as we explored playa Garza. They have chairs and tables right on the beach (under treees in the shade)They will bring you cocktails, really delicious brick oven pizza or grilled lobster. It's like a mini club med. the service was great and we ended up going back multiple times during our stay.
