Please note: In fairness to the Safari Beach Restaurant, this report concerns only the BAR and not to the restaurant as a whole.
With my family, we went to the Safari beach for an early evening Apéro at around 6:00pm. As all of the tables were set up for dinner, we opted to stay by the bar - using the bar stools and to order our drinks there.
There were about 5-6 staff in or around the bar who were busy talking, joking and laughing amongst themselves loudly who took little notice of us when we arrived.
I had to ask if it was ok to have a drink or cocktail before being offered the drinks list. After 5 minutes then I had to call over one of the bar staff to be able to make an order for the 3 of us. There were no other customers at the bar. I ordered 2 of the same cocktails and a G&T. The order took 10 minutes to be served and the staff's humorous banter and chit-chat with each other continued loudly between the staff all around us - as though there was no concern whatsoever for respecting the presence of paying customers at the bar.
We decided not to have a second drink there in the light of the bad and impolite service and ambiance at the bar.
We then went on to Le Petit Zinc, for our next drinks, where there was a super ambiance and where the service was fast, professional and polite and the drinks were half the price of the Safari Beach - due to it being Happy Hour.
I know the Safari Beach Restaurant food is quite good from my past experience and the view of the beach and the seaside is lovely - however, I shall now personally avoid going to the Safari Beach because of this ill-disciplined, unruly and rude bar-staff experience we suffered there.

A friend took me to this tiny restaurant tucked away in this neighborhood I never would be able to find it then, or again. It's very small, organic, but every expat within 20 miles seemed to know it. They have art on the walls, which as I recall are that berry blue, and tables and chairs and plates that don't match one another. There was a singer when I was there, who was great - he did all kinds of music - Senegalese, West African, American, Jamaican, etc. We had a choice of maybe 10 dishes, and other than the shrimp/scallops, ate family style with salad, frites and so forth. The wine was actually good - hadn't expected that! But the real reasons to come here (if you can find it) are that the food is really good and feels like home cooking, and the ambiance is not your sterile boring restaurant.

This restaurant was conveniently located for us from the Rhino Resort where we stayed. It is situated just off the main roundabout at Saly. Consists of an outside Seating area, inside the restaurant, or in a raised Terrace location. Mainly used this for lunch, but did go there one night. Food was varied and always cooked to our liking. Excellent service, especially from Mariama, who was always on hand to explain the dishes. Romantic setting

Very French and european menu. I ordered beef with peppersauce and fired potatoes and got excatly that. No vegetables or other items on the plate. The meat was very tender, moist and tastefull, and my wifes chicken was perfect.
The setting is very pleasant and service fast and friendly. Beers served in stubbyholders!
Really nice place with great selection of food. Only french menu.

Since last reviewing, Le Petit Zinc has had a smart make-over and face-lift.
It remains very much the downtown Saly place to meet up for a drink... or to pop into for a beer or a Pastis or two... after some supermarket shopping at Casino (opposite).
The staff are friendly and welcoming and there's always a good buzz here at Hppy Hour time early evening after 18:30.
Moderately priced food and good pizzas served here and live music 3-4 nights per week.

Yesterday, I called to see if this restaurant was open mid-afternoon. I was, though due to traffic, we weren't able to make it.
Today I received an incredibly rude and instulting call from the staff at the restaurant telling me that I'd made a Reservations and they were "pissed off" that I had not come because I made a reservation. I tried to tell them that I had just called to check if they were open and hadn't made a reservation, and the representative of the restaurant kept saying "You are an incredibly rudeperson", "We're pissed off at you", "You made a reservation and you didn't come, we're pissed off".
What kind of restaurant works this way? Calling potential clients to insult them? I'd been looking forward to trying this place, but I assure you I will never visit.

The restaurant had fabulous atmosphere! The lighting, music, and hospitality were fantastic. We loved that the tables were scattered among huge palm trees. The owner/chef and his wife were very friendly. The food was SO good. WOW. Our total bill for two entrees, bottled water, a shared dessert and our tip was about 15,000cfa. It was worth every cfa! You will not be disappointed! FYI- We never write reviews on restaurants, but we couldn't resist sharing what a wonderful time we had at La Guinguette!

Living in the Saly region means you are surrounded with overpriced, pretentious French restaurants. Not so Couleurs de Senegal which is a relaxed place and a favorite with locals for consistently delicious food at a reasonable price. Dining is under an open-sided, airy thatched roof or poolside (which we prefer because so many French customers smoke). Our favorite dishes are the coriphane avec sauce basilic, the tagliatelle carbonara, and especially the seafood paella (when they have it- if you have a large party you can call ahead and request it).

Lots of locals here who all seem to know each other so this would suggest this is the best place to eat. The food is reasonable but very simple. We ate here twice and had fish both times. Wine not very good.
