Once the summer playground of America's wealthiest families, Newport remains a popular vacation destination at any time of year. The famous mansions, each more opulent than the last, offer detailed tours and give a fascinating glimpse into Gilded Age extravagance. While the town rightly emphasizes its history with a variety of museums and tours, Newport also has a vibrant, contemporary side, made manifest in quirky shops and great restaurants.

Medium food and service. Washed all tables with same rag, cold and not washed kind of the only breakfast in NPT accept Handy lunch and Franklyn Spa.

At Bouchard Restaurant, a warm relaxed ambiance and gracious welcome signals your arrival. The restaurant serves fine French cuisine in a 1785 Georgian-style house.
I always look for the good places to dine when I travel, so I researched this one in advance of my trip, and made sure to make a reservation several weeks in advance (a must!). So glad we were able to dine here. It was a superior experience all the way around -- ambiance, food, service. A must-try, if you're a foodie.

The Forbes Four Star restaurant presents a prix fixe menu showcasing the talents of Chef Lou Rossi and his culinary team. We are blessed with a location that is second to none in New England - not only for the view, but for the bounty provided by our surrounding lands being brought to your table. * Sunday through Thursday 5:45pm – 8pm * Friday & Saturday 5:45pm – 9pm * Mansion Bar 11:30am – 10:00pm daily
Service was excellent. Food was a great value during restaurant week. Food was all prepared perfectly. Tried something a bit different with fritters and gumbo. Might not be my choice next time but enjoyable. Three in our party had the salmon and nothing left on the plates. Desserts were delicious.

Chef / Owners Matt & Anna Tscheulin welcome you to visit Rosemary & Thyme , a small artisan style bakery and cafe located in historic downtown Newport, R.I. All our baked goods , pasteries, soups , salads, and atisan sandwiches are scratch made daily in our kitchen . All daily leftovers are donated to our local food pantry. We invite you to spend some time with us
This little shop has great sandwiches, soups, and salads. We had the ham/egg/cheese stuffed croissant. But, our favorite was the black forest ham/gruyere/dijon stuffed croissant. Their fresh baked pastries are also excellent..until they run out. Don't miss the pumpkin chocolate chip croissant with salted caramel (I'm guessing this one is seasonal).
Because this place has so few seats, I would recommend coming early or waiting until slightly after the breakfast/lunch hours. It's VERY COZY. Then again, you could order to go and enjoy a beautiful stroll around the neighborhood.

This place literally makes the BEST burger, and I have eaten MANY burgers. The hormone and no antibiotics used meat is ground in house, and cooked to perfection. I had the Mickey D's burger, simple with mustard, pickles, tomato, lettuce and sharp cheddar. The chili dog was ok, and the falafel was good, just ask for extra tzatziki.

With a fresh take on American cuisine using the finest ingredients, Jo's serves classy food in a casual setting. We prepare delectable seafood, numerous gluten-free options, and natural meats raised without hormones or antibiotics wherever possible. Prix fixe menu Sunday through Wednesday and half-price bar menu Friday and Sunday evenings.
We dine in Newport on a regular basis and tend to go to the same places over and over. It was restaurant week in Newport so we decided to try something different and go to Jo's. And are we glad we did! This is now going to be one of our regular go to places in town. The ambiance was lovely, the service was great (either the owner or manager stopped by to check on us!), and the food was outstanding. Definitely check it out!

The ideal embodiment of Newport dining: the freshest seafood, al fresco seating, expansive harbor views, and warm hospitality. Our award-winning wine list is one of the most acclaimed in New England.
Food was overcooked. Salade to much oil. Salade was swimming.Waiter agree when he saw the food but did not do anything. Dirty toilet. But a lovely place to sit and enjoy the viewSorry to hear you did not enjoy your visit. That's not the typical experience and our apologies. We hope you can join us again and get a better taste of the the quality we are known for. Gratefully, Dan Fischer General Manager

Located in Newport, Rhode Island, CRU Cafe is the purveyor of craft cafe dining. Integrating a weekly changing menu and fresh, local ingredients, this small boutique eatery always has something new to offer. Serving breakfast, lunch, dinner and brunch you can take a tour of our local flavors offered up for every meal!
We love it here! The food is great! The desserts are yummy, my daughter just loves the chocolate brownie paired with a lemonade. The only reason why I don’t give it a 5 is because I feel like I am a generous tipper and I would like not to clean after my own table when tipping so well.

Thames street is a shopping area with several restaurants, and yes,it is a brick street, hence;Brick Alley Pub! Great service and food. We were lucky enough to be there on Tuesday when they serve Albondigas soup. It sounds weird but if you like a little Mexican flavor, you will love this. I'm not a big meatball fan but the Mexican meatballs in this soup are the best ever! They have a huge menu and is vegan friendly. If your planning to go to this beautiful city add this restaurant to your list of things to do!

Inside this characterful Victorian house, we experienced another delicious, true Italian meal in a quiet and quaint atmosphere. We began with the tenderloin carpaccio, and followed with two irresistible pasta dishes as our entrees -the bombetta (gnocchi) and cheese and spinach cannelloni (a special that day). Wine list is filled with a great variety of Italian choices, and we were happy to select a Nerello from Sicily. Our waitress was wonderfully attentive and paced the meal beautifully. As this was a birthday celebration for my husband, she added a candle to the rich chocolate “bomb” cake that we shared.
