Not too sure of what kind of food they list themselves as having. They have steaks, ribs, oxtail varied types of foods. It is also a boutique hotel.

We decided before a four day Wilderness walk in the imfolozi game reserve we would stop at Newcastle to have a night of luxury and spoiling, as Tramonto looked unbeatable in the town I decided to pay the 1750 per nite for the room. Called to book even, asking the restaurants open times, I'm never normally that organized, but I just wanted to have a non hassle easy top meal and bed.
We arrive, to a standard bank full house function.... no room in the restaurant "sorry", had u not known this 24hours beforehand to let me know that I'd have to trawl Newcastle to eat??
Not impressed!!! We were shown to our room by the GM apparently, who apologized for this oversight and he would make a table up elsewhere, or we could order room service..... either way... we are still waiting for the thoughtful menu.
Trawled around Newcastle and found "food garden" we just wanted a good curry and that's what we got...
Returned to our luxury room for eve.
Morning meal was awsum food as expected, GM says "oh but u didn't ask for a menu last nite, u just needed to phone"....
Really? For r1750 for the room, I need to phone you?
Pity, the room was well appointed, the experience wasn't what I paid for tho....
so just remember to ASK if they have functions on, that you will be forgotten over!!!!

I spent two nights at the cannon and now know why even the Inn will rather house me next time. The pub is extremely cosy and well frequented late at night. On a few occasions many items are damaged and found in the parking area. After my last stay I found a pocket knife and lighter next to my car.
The fight must have been a good one. I heard it and rather stayed in my room.
Depending on how physical you are maybe move past this one.

The service was not as quick as expected. Given food which was overcooked as if nothing was wrong. I could not consume wors but paid full amount. The place was clean.

I visited Nashville Spur yesterday with my son.... The waitress took a while to take my order....The table and floor were dirty... When our drinks arrived, the waitress just threw wet straws next to our drinks as she had dropped a bit of my son's cooldrink in the tray whilst serving us.... When I asked for a take away, the waitress who took my bowl to the kitchen put her hand in my bowl and she picked up some food which she stuffed in her mouth...she then liked her fingers whilst walking away... another waitress ate something at the till point near the play area in full view of people around... This kind of service is a poor reflection on Spur...

We love the brand and this particular outlet. Until recently. Orders are wrong and our corn was still frozen in the middle. When we complain, they said IT was not MICROWAVED long enough!!! and we were under the impression if was FRESH!!! Such a disappointment

I visit Pint and Pigout restuarant on weekly basis.I feel like a regular cutomer, the services and food are of a highstandard. The waiters/waitreses know the menu and specials by hard and can make a wonderful suggestion. The menu have a large veriaty to select from, and the servings are quit big. The food is always tastefull and well prepared.

Mokgodu, pap, inhloko, jeqe, samp, isinkwa sombila (cornbread)... does it trigger something? yes that's what we cater for at African Fuzion Restaurant. We offer the best in African dish delicacies and so much more... do visit us and feel at home "usekhaya". Great food,Warm ambiance, Professional service and awesome people.

Not many eating options in town so this was recommended. The restaurant in the casino complex is attached to the hotel and caters for those residents. No ambience, bright lights, average service and ordinary food. Nothing special to bring one back.
