My wife and I stop in here a couple times a year going to and from one place or the other and always get a yummy treat. The coffee is always hot and the treats whether they be a breakfast sandwich or a donut are always tasty. The bathrooms are clean and there's plenty of room to sit down and munch on your goodies!

Stopped tonight for an ice cream and got a young woman who obviously cared about her job. She chatted about the ice cream and what kind she liked as she dipped ours up. Efficient yet personable. Newly remodeled and nice and clean.

This is a family favorite. The sushi and rolls are the best in the area with a high level of artistic skill.

Vintage

Reviewed By LifeAlaCarte - Columbia, MD

Vintage isn't really hard to find - but it's definitely someplace that, in most cases, is a destination. You kinda have to want to go here...Situated on the "main street" of New Market amidst rowhouses, it's a pseudo-neighborhood spot with more than a little extra charm. On street parking is ample during most weeknights and Sunday - Friday and Saturday night maybe another story...

The place is in a word "charming". It's got the feel of home but not so much so that you forget you can't take your shoes off, if that makes sense. The bar is in something of a separate room from the dining areas, which encompass numerous options for seating of large and smaller parties, likely corresponding to the day and how much business is expected. The waitstaff is young but efficient and attentive.

The food is where there are some elements of "flair" but it's a pretty good menu for those seeking somewhere with more "basic" options. Proteins/entrees are fish/beef/chicken driven, for example. The "flair" is found in the horseradish cauliflower mush and bacon marmalade that is served with the Rainbow Trout. The trout was essentially perfectly filleted and cooked - but it's the serving accoutrements that help seal the deal. There's essentially something for everyone/every style of eating - vegetarians can go for the Farmer's Risotto, and the beef brisket or chicken and waffles were two favorites amongst those non-vegetarians we were with.

Housemade hushpuppies are a must, and if you're a pickle lover - they do their own veggies. The "Rice Krispy Onion Rings" are also something to try. Desserts - nothing amazing but nothing horrible, either. Housemade ice cream and cookies along with some pies and the like. The drink list is fair, a little better on the beer side than wine, though the liquor options are interesting, if you're feeling like heading that way. The after dinner drinks are probably a better option for adults than dessert (unless you have a sweet tooth).

On the price-side of things - the most expensive entree items on the menu are $24 (fish/shrimp and grits), with the rest between $16-$23. Burgers/sandwiches are $12-$14, and salads are $8-$13.

Serenity Tearoom & Fine Dining

Reviewed By LoSaint - Middletown

I met some of my very favorite long time friends here to enjoy a respite from the madness of the holidays. We were seated immediately upon entering because we had a reservation and were promptly given an extensive menu of every type of tea imaginable. Each lady had their own individual pot of tea, which we drank out of very charming China tea cups. As the time got closer to the lunch hour the room began to fill up and it became just the slightest bit noisy, but that will happen at any restaurant.

When the food arrived it was everything we hoped it would be, delicious, artfully arranged, and plentiful (We even ended up bringing extras home.)

The service was exemplary without being intrusive, and we felt that we could linger all day if we wanted to. Two of our ladies even enjoyed a second pot of tea; we were really able to relax and sit still for awhile and a no time felt rushed.

At the end of our visit our table was visited by the herald owner, Mrs. Henry, who stopped by to make sure our lunch was completely satisfactory. It was, very much so!

We had a good dinner at Wilcom's. The food was well prepared but somewhat incomplete. Monday's are Italian night and the meals did not come with any sort of bread of salad accompaniments. Salad was offered as an extra but typically one would receive it with the pasta dish.

Lucky Corner looks like a hole in the wall but but inside they are dishing up some of the very best Vietnamese fare in the entire area. Yesterday I had their Duck in Red Curry Coconut and my hubby had their Pepper Shrimp and Scallops. We both agreed those two dishes were worthy of a special trip. We were driving through the area and stopped in for lunch, thank you TA. The restaurant was packed and we had a very short wait. By the time we finished looking at the menu and making our selections our table was ready and we ordered straight away. Service was friendly and helpful. We will definitely return. Highly, highly recommended.

LIghthouse Seafood & Deli

Reviewed By QuadMFamily

It had been a few months since we had stopped in and I was disappointed to see the boar's head deli counter was gone. No lunch meats or cheeses are available. Take a number when you walk in because the wait can get long. They will steam or fry your purchase while you wait or take as is and cook at home. The crab soup both MD Crab and Cream of crab are delicious. They also aren't selling filet mignon in individual cuts but the whole tenderloin only . So, out of the 3 items I went in to buy I could only get the soup. Picked up some side dishes, NY Strip, shrimp, and crab legs and we were all set. Can't wait to go back in the summer for their steamed crabs!

I live only 5 minutes from The Buzz, and have often gone there for breakfast with my daughters. Their menu is really creative, and their food is delicious and all home made. Every week the menu changes a little and has a theme. Their Triple Berry Scones are the best scones in Maryland, but they are becoming famous, and sometimes sell out by 8:30 am. There are usually several other types of scones and other baked goods such as muffins and brownies. As far as meals go, the Strata is always great as is the Eggs Benedict and Quiche when they have it. It's hard to go wrong with whatever you order. The interior is a cute eclectic cafe with funny quotes on the walls. They are open till 4:00 and are closed Mondays.
