The Greek city of Naxos is steeped in mythological mystique and ancient history. The purported home of Dionysus, the Greek god of wine, is fringed with glorious beaches, collisions of turquoise waters and sapphire horizons. The ruins of The Portara frame the sky like a door to another world, while renovated Venetian mansions offer a glimpse into the upper crust of yesteryear. The 13th-century castle is simply breathtaking.

Originating from Crete and experiencing the Naxian ingredients lead to the creation of a unique gastronomic bond, resulting in a fusion cuisine from these regions. Come and enjoy lunch or dinner for an exquisite experience of a unique culinary blending. Based on fresh ingredients selected exclusively from Naxos and Crete, traditional recipes are transformed into an inspired selection of food with modern presentation! Food is accompanied with an updated wine list selected from producers all over Greece. The Restaurant opens early in the morning serving also breakfast and snacks.
The restaurant deserves its high ratings. The food is outstanding (a "Naxian-Cretan fusion cuisine"), not a traditional Greek. Very pleasant, shady yard with a nice view. You may be better off ordering several appetizers or salads instead of the main entrees. Very close to the Maragas bus stop. My only quibble is a very limited wine selection.

Since opening in 1995 on the Greek island of Naxos, Scirocco has become somewhat of an institution in naxos not to be missed. Behind the scenes mama Katerina creates her favourite dishes, which luckily for you, she shares with more than just her family. Her sons, Nikos and Michalis, will make sure that you feel right at home, just like they do. You will want to come again, in fact, you may never want to leave.
This place was recommended to us, and was so good we went back twice. Food was excellent- delicious , well presented, using local ingredients. Service was of a very high standard. Great ambience , right on the village square. We would highly recommend!

Taverna Vassilis opened in 1951 by Vassilis and Maria Voudias. Today the tradition is carried on by their son and daughter in law and their children.
Found this little restaurant whilst wandering the quaint little backstreets and saw some diners with a fish platter. The tables are placed old Greek style in the flower bedecked alleyways which gives a real traditional feel which we prefer to all the latest "Greek food...MoreThank you so much for your review. It's nice to hear that people still like the old fashioned type of Greek restaurant. As you say lots of 'new' style restaurants springing up. Good to know that we are not outdated yet. Thank you.

Our first night in Naxos, staying at the Nissaki Beach Hotel, we decided to try their restaurant right on the beach. Wonderful ambiance looking out at the bay, accompanied by a relaxing, very enjoyable meal. The chicken filet was delicious and the tuna steak was a large portion. Service was friendly and attentive. The Greek wine was excellent, of course!

Brilliant restaurant - we went twice in a five night stay and had to push ourselves to not go a third. Lovely warm welcome and attentive service, whether busy or quieter.
It was windy and chilly late evening in Naxos the first evening but at The Oasis you still feel like you're sat outside even though your actually in a covered sheltered area. - feels like a garden restaurant.
Very reasonably priced - cheap litre of house wine which was very drinkable in our opinion. We had, beef in tomato/pasta, sea bass, peppered steak and all were delicious.

"The Greek" first opened its doors in 2008 and is a Greek company. Offers the simplicity of traditional Greek food with local products and daily freshly prepared dishes. Our secret is that we have the kitchen mom Katerina who cooks with love and taste traditional recipes naxiwtikes. The family's father Michael, having years of experience in catering, created "The Greek" which in course passed into the hands of his son, John. Children Argiro, John, Maria and Manolis will care for the warm reception and correct service making you feel at home. The restaurant has a garden that is a perfect setting to enjoy your meal. When you visit Naxos, do not hesitate to visit us: will become your favorite part.
To Elleniko has a big new garden area but we turned up at about 8.30 and it was very busy. We managed to get a table straight away but a small queue then formed. This is a slick operation though and people didn’t have long to wait. They brought us olives and garlic butter with the delicious fresh bread. We shared cheese croquettes then I had the octopus stifado which was very good. OH had sea bream which he enjoyed. We had free water melon and the house wine was only €4.50 a half kilo. Service was good and the surroundings are nice. We would recommend.

With an ambiance that emulates the relaxed, opulent experience of dining on the island of nAXOS, the attentive service and high-quality fare offered here is a true delight. Each dish on Sarris menu is considered a specialty, but the fresh daily Thalassina (seafood) is most popular among their loyal patronage. Indulge in fish-free delicacies, our famous chicken souvlaki and the traditional baked lamb with ouzo, tomatoes, and Kefalotiri cheese . Most importantly, Sarris Taverna lives up to its Aegean namesake memorable taste."
Having been to Naxos several times and walked past this restaurant many times we decided to give it a try, it is always busy so usually a good sign. I ordered the lamb which was perfectly cooked and my wife ordered fish which she asked if they could bring it without the head, the waiter said they would fillet it for her and it came as it was requested to be, reasonable house wine and overall good value

Wine bar, with French wines and Greek wines, organic et biodynamic culture. We are ambassadors of some wines and Champagne from France that we represent in Greece. A fusion food cooked with local produce. We offer tapas and some French traditionnal dishes as well and Caribbean Curry. All our food is homemade , cooked with fresh Naxian ingrédients.
We come here often and simply say, "let's go to the French women tonight". It's such a cozy place which reflects the warm personalities of Elli and Fred and is reminiscent of a bistro in a small French village. Elli's wine recommendations are always spot...MoreHello good2go195 Thank you for the beautiful and just how you describe La Vigne, it's a compliment that makes us want to continue in this direction, I'm sure you hear my French accent through the words! xaxaxa good stay at Naxos Eli and Fred

A small restaurant with 10 tables in a perfect location 20 meters from the harbour of Naxos. Family business in a quite place next to gift shops between the seaside and the Venetian Castle. The owners are cooking from the morning trying to serve the best food and the best quality and when you have the chance ask for what just came out from the oven!
We visited the place last night.I had the best mousaka in years!!!Also great lamb chops for my husband! Excellent service with a smile!Strongly recomended!!!

We wish you a pleasant stay on our beautiful island and we invite you to embark on a journey of taste and smell through Naxian and Mediterranean cuisine.
A most attractive menu can be enjoyed on a second floor balcony where in one of only two tables you can take in the harbor and the comings and goings of lively crowds underneath. Perfect tuna carpaccio, milokopi fish and various risotti well worth the expense. the cheesecake, made with local cheese, is extraordinary. The linguine with urchins were thin on the urchins but still quite tasty. Considerate and friendly service.
