We went with several families and the hot spa was most enjoyable. The water is an opaque bright turquoise and we all loved it. A very decent selection of food and drinks are available, facilities are clean, grass well cared for and we felt it was an excellent way to spend an afternoon with a meal. As always in East Africa it seems, you can't get photos of the actual geiser because it has ugly fencing around it. Japan and New Zealand could bring some good counsel to the table. However we had a marvelous time and would highly recommend it to anyone.

When I look back on my trip through Africa, this place comes to mind as my favorite camp. I loved camping here, for one. It was clean and the showers and sinks were serviceable and hot. The camp is set right on the lake and hippos roam in the evenings. They'll take you out on a hippo cruise if you want, and you can rent bikes to go to the neighboring Hells Gate National Park. Best of all the camp bar served some of the best food we had in all of Africa, and it was comfy, cozy, and had awesome WIFI. I can't recommend this place highly enough.

Loved the atmosphere, the food and the service! We were treated so well. We enjoyed the outdoor Seating, but noticed the indoor Seating was also plentiful and comfortable. The signs warning us not to approach wild animals that might come join us had us on the lookout, but the only thing that came close were a family of Guinea fowl that came through the compound.
On a side note:
The restrooms were clean and had flush toilets and running water. This is just something one likes to know when dining at a rustic place in Kenya!

We have a set menu by prior booking only. Simple lunches, a soup & fresh baked bread to start, a chicken or fish and vegetarian dish with a selection of fresh & exciting salads from our garden brimming with herbs and full of flavor, fruit & vegetables of exceptional quality followed by an exciting cheeseboard and home made sorbets & ice creams. Dinner is a more elaborate candlelit affair of three course carefully put together courses preceded by aperatifs around the fire. Meals could not be more civilized with a carefully chosen menu & a selection of local & imported wines.
I ate dinner here about 18 months ago and it was excellent, so the 'average' rating today takes that great experience into account, since today was a poor one.
Today's menu consisted of lentil soup as a starter (adults found it bland, kids wouldn't touch it) followed by chicken patties and a range of salads (some of the salads were nice, but by and large nothing to write home about - and nothing like the intricate food I had here for dinner). For the kids, they brought plain pasta and ketchup. We asked for Parmesan cheese to go with the pasta, but there was none, so the kids skipped the main course as well. We asked we could order (for an additional fee) anything else for the kids (pizza, chips, omelette etc) but the answer was negative. Desert was mango sorbet, not bad, but not really kid friendly.
Apart from the miss on the food side, we were seated outside downstairs, where we were an easy target for ants. We had dozens on our table at any time once the food arrived.
All in all, not a great experience- especially since I know they can do so much better. I may back for dinner if I have a conference in Naivasha- but we won't be driving down from Nairobi with the family for a weekend lunch again - not what the place is for.

Nothing seems to have changed since 20 years ago. Same decor, same furniture, same fittings, same everything. Needs a face-lift and some modernisation. Service was ok and the food was just food, nothing to get excited about as can be seen from the fish fillet in the attached photo. Prices are very reasonable. The only place I know in Naivasha town to stop over for a quick meal. Had to move from the seats outside to the dining room inside due to the stench of raw sewage in the gutter next to the restaurant.

Lovely Terrace restaurant with great views of lake and wildlife. Staff very friendly and welcoming. Very good food although choice is slightly limited and mainly western dishes. Portions are good and can recommend the fish cakes and the chocolate and salted caramel mess. Have been told you need to reserve at weekends.

Me and boo stopped through Mother's Kitchen after hiking Hells Gate Park. We were hungry as hell. Fast service, friendly staff and unbeatable prices. Totally bill for two was less than 1,000 shillings. I order the fried fish which was pretty yummy. Give them a try, you won't be disappointed. Hell i don't know many spot in American were i can eat for $10.00 for two people. Just saying...

A coffee shop set in a quiet farm garden. Italian style sandwiches, coffee, salads daily. Pizza and meat dishes available on weekends or on order. Can cater for large groups with prearrangement.
If you want to avoid the craziness of the Delemere truck stop, but still want a rest between Nakuru and Nairobi, Manera Farm shop is the best. Unfortunately they don't' sell veges any more, but the shop has a small selection of cookies, soaps etc. But the best reason to stop is for the sandwiches and salads, and good coffee. The location is beautiful to sit on the lawn or at the various tables under the huge pepper tree. If it rains there is a very small sitting area inside. One of the best kept secrets along the Naivasha-Nakuru road.
