With eleven miles of sand, it's no surprise the beach is everyone's favorite attraction in Nags Head. This Outer Banks town just south of Kitty Hawk offers ocean fans every sort of shoreline sport, from sailing and kayaking to snorkeling past shipwrecks or hang-gliding over the sand dunes of Jockey's Ridge State Park. Step into the past with a walk through the historic district and enjoy the area’s distinct architecture.

Blue Moon Beach Grill is located at MP 13 in sunny, downtown Nags Head. We are just down the road from Jockey's Ridge in Surfside Plaza. We are open 7 days a week from 11:30 AM till 9:00 PM. Our goal is to provide each customer with a "once in a blue moon" dining experience.
We stopped here years ago when they first opened, and occupied a tiny "one shop" space in a small strip mall. This year, I see they are maybe expanding again!! There is often a wait here, but we don't mind. The food is a sensory experience. My personal favorites : Marinated Portabella, Shrimp and Grits, Oyster dinner, and a Simple Fish and Chips that is One of the BEST!!

When we get sandwiches here, we count on them providing 2 meals each. They're tasty, filling, and they have so many different choices for everything from bread to meat to dressings. I have them make changes to the way they ordinarily prepare one of their advertised sandwiches and they've never complained.
Each sandwich is made as you order, and they're popular, so you can expect a wait. I guess the answer to that is to call ahead, but I like standing there, looking at what they offer, and figuring out what I'm feeling that day.
If you're looking for a sandwich, this is the place to go.

Located in the Pirates Quay Shoppes at MP 11.25 Waveriders is a coffee shop (Full espresso bar) and deli that also has beer (draft and bottled) and wine! They have amazing panini pressed breakfast sandwiches, muffins, pastries, bagels and health-conscious choices, including gluten free and vegetarian! They offer a great variety of hot panini pressed sandwiches and wraps along with cold sandwiches to take to the beach! They use only the trusted Boar's Head brand meats and cheeses. They serve breakfast or lunch any time of day along with real fruit smoothies and frozen drinks. They have a wine and beer bar (with TV's), a computer/laptop bar and plenty of table and lounge seating available including outside seating. Enjoy a latte, draft beer, glass of wine, or some delicious food along with free WIFI!
Stopped by for midmorning coffee and breakfast. Cappuccino was very good. Sandwiches offer a wide variety of ingredients and combinations. We ordered 2 different ones and split between us. They were tasty and fresh. My only issue was they were “panini”ed(squashed and heated) and it really doesn’t do justice to a well made bagel. I like my bagel sadnwiches toasted or plain, but didn’t ask if that were a possibility. Next time will ask. Worth a return visit.

Stopped here our first night in Kill Devil Hills. After a 20 minute wait we were seated. It is a very popular place. The steak meal was already sold out. Nonetheless, we had fish on grits, mother stcks, chicken gumbo and a great porter and local IPA.

Great steakhouse atmosphere. Excellent and attentive service. Well known on the Outer Banks for steaks but other choices are well done also. I have had several great meals here. Fish entrees are great, especially chef specials. Salads and desserts are well above average. Not cheap but well worth the money and time spent.

Overlooking the beautiful Roanoke Sound, Miller's Waterfront Restaurant has been family owned and operated since 1982. Offering lunch and dinner daily in the restaurant downstairs with early bird specials from 4:00-5:00 pm. New for 2016 is The Waterfront Sunset Bar located upstairs, above the original restaurant. The Waterfront is a more casual & relaxed atmosphere focusing on small plates and an unparalleled view of the water.
Had a delicious dinner at Miller’s last night. The shrimp and flounder were amazing. Some of the best hush puppies we’ve ever had. The sides were all wonderful as well and the service was excellent. The weather was terrible so the views weren’t much but in great weather I can imagine the views are breathtaking. We will be back on our next visit!

A group of Alfa Romeo enthusiasts were at the OBX for our Christmas party and I had been telling the group how good the food at Food Dudes was. So several of us went there for lunch on Saturday. We were not disappointed. I got the grilled fish tacos which was as good as I remembered. Another of the group got them as well. Everyone agreed with me that the food was excellent!

Family owned and operated for 33 years, we serve the finest and freshest local seafood, choice steaks, salads, pastas, chicken and more. We pay attention to every detail to ensure your meal is memorable and delicious! Enjoy casual dining overlooking the Roanoke Sound, and live music (in season) in our waterfront gazebo. Come early and enjoy your favorite cocktail outdoors overlooking the water, or in our indoor bar. We offer an extensive wine list, a lighter fare menu, childrens’ menu and more. We welcome children, families and parties of all sizes, and offer comfortable booths for a romantic dinner for two. We look forward to serving you!
Expect long lines, but they are worth the wait. Don't forget the coupon in the visitor's guide. A full-course menu of fresh seafood and good looking steaks and Italian specialties. Our flounder was too much to eat, but it was delicious. Tale of the Whale is in a good locale, although not quite as good as the place across the road if you want to watch the sound while enjoying your dinner. Tale of the Whale is pricey, but worth it.

Ladles is a Homemade Soup, Sandwich and Salad Shop. Everything is made from scratch daily and made to order just for you. Vegan & Vegetarian options are available.
I have had high praises for this place for a very long time. Bummed on this visit. Got the soup and salad combo to go. Cucumbers were slimy as well as the sliced roma tomato. Mixed greens looked old. Maybe an off day, I will try it again at another time.
