Several years ago I gave this little local restaurant in Monticello, KY near Lake Cumberland and Conley Bottom Marina, an average rating sometime after it opened. However, today (and yesterday, last week the week before...)WOW has it far out reached my expectations!!
We have come to this little best kept secret at least 3-4 times a week for the last several months and it's been consistently terrific!! Now that says something!!
The shrimp salad is excellent!! A dozen plus nice size shrimp grilled to perfection on top of a large mixed salad with cherry tomatoes, cucumbers, red onion, boiled eggs, cheese, etc. YUM! Your choice of dressing, of course.
Then there's the regular grilled shrimp dinner, the fried shrimp dinner. All good and with two sides, included.
One of my favorites is the steak tips with green peppers, onions and mushroom.
The steak is tender and cooked to your specification.
Steak is their specialty!
Their appetizers are tasty, too!!
Oh!! And I must not forget their rolls!! So good!!
The servers are so nice and very good. We especially like Alejandro but all are just great!
So next time you and your family decide to dine out while you are enjoying the lake or just visiting try this little gem.
Delicious!!

Even though the DQ in Monticello, KY has been updated to the new DQ look, it has retained the local way of cooking breakfast. The food is what one would expect from a local restaurant. Eggs are done to order, bacon is crisp, and biscuits light and fluffy. The best part is the gravy with big chunks of sausage.
Service is very efficient. Be prepared for a crowd ad the locals really frequent this DQ.

The Lighthouse Café offers an excellent view of scenic Lake Cumberland, indoor and outdoor seating available. Have a seat on our floating open café available with picnic tables for you to enjoy your meal! Our menu offers a variety of delicious food and friendly service. It’s a wonderful spot for a breakfast, lunch, or dinner. Stop in and enjoy a meal or just a cone of that great soft serve ice cream at one of Lake Cumberland’s finest floating restaurants. Dine in or enjoy our breezeway! Be sure to try our delicious soft serve ice cream! Opened Seasonally only.
The Lighthouse Café was a bit hard to find as the address on Trip Advisor was incorrect. The restaurant is at 520 Conley Bottom Road. It was worth the drive though as the setting right on Lake Cumberland at the marina is scenic and very pleasant. There is indoor and outdoor casual dining. The menu is typically American. Service is good. The food is good, but not great. My taco salad was good, but my friend's burger was dry. We both enjoyed the flavor burst ice cream though. Double check the hours before you go especially out of peak season.

Pizza Hut got famous, because it had good pizzas, & our experience here was a "Very Good" pizza lunch. There are several "franchise" restaurants in a row just off of the ByPass, near the Shopping Center.

The food here is always fresh and most of the employees are nice. You must wait for your food but it's worth the wait.

The morning service at this Sonic is wonderful. I usually find that the morning staff serves hot food and gets it out fast. I have enjoyed two days of tater tot mornings with my boys. They have got tater tots each morning. The tater tots have been hot and fresh. I love the diet cherry cokes. I love that they can get your order correct as well.

We saw the sign for the Family Diner with home-style cooking. So the four of us tried it.
When we went in, we weren't recognized by the staff. We had to finally ask a waitress if she would seat us or if we should seat ourselves. My wife and I ordered a burger, and it was done to perfection. The philly cheesesteak and the fish sandwich were also very good.. So we had no problem with the food.
What concerned me was what I saw as I was waiting for the food to arrive. Our waitress counted the cash in the cash register and also served as busboy by cleaning tables. She even had her fingers inside the glasses as she removed them from the tables. So my concern is unhealthy conditions due to cross-contamination.
Not sure if we would return.

It had been a while since I'd been here, but I see it's still one of the best McD's I've been in. As a "travelin salesman," the introduction of franchise eateries revolutionized our job. Not only available restrooms, but food & drinks prepared rapidly, & Togo. This restaurant is owned & operated by a family who have done a spectacular job, with several McD's in this area of KY. Check out the pictures.
