We stopped by and got a fresh cinnamon roll. Very good. Then the ladies from the shop made the very large wedding cake for the reception that evening. The cake was very good.

Spent one night in town and decided to give this little place a try. So glad we did!! We had chips and salsa and ordered a variety of tacos to try. We loved everything.

This area boasts a large number of Mexican restaurants, we choose different ones, for different meals, specialties, atmosphere, etc. We recently enjoyed breakfast here, and it was really tasty! The service was friendly, prices are great, a bit of a "fast food" environment, but nothing rushed about the atmosphere. We have enjoyed lunch here as well, including the buffet. Fresh, stocked, great taste.

Went in to get a coffee and ice cream cone. Expensive! Coffee terrible. Also no cream or half and half, just powdered substitute. Had to wait a long, long time for the ice cream cone. Not crowded. Lots of employees wandering around, but ineffective. No management. Lost our order. Will avoid this place when in Monte Vista.

Coffee, doughnuts, breakfast.
This little place on the main street of Monte Vista is absolutely excellent! The barabacoa is terrific and so is the green chili salsa that is warm and spicy. The bakery items are fresh and great. So good we ate there twice during our journey through and our return.
The ladies in the kitchen really make some good food. Mostly Spanish spoken here and well worth the visit. Don't forget the empenadas.

Your dinner comes with a Valley baked potato, wedge iceberg with our delicious house dressing, buttery soft French bread and a slice of seasonal fruit. Well drinks are $2.25 & Margaritas are $3.75.
We were a party of 5 celebrating our anniversary last night. This was our first visit....we were not disappointed!!! Being Monday they were offering filet mignon. I had the 6 oz and came out a perfect mrdium rare and was so tender. Along with a large baked potato and the wedge salad with great ranch style dressing, I was full and very satisfied...especially for $10. Cocktails are cheap and well made. We all enjoyed the turn-of-the-century decor...very unusual. We will return.

Newly opened, but without the "newly opened glitches". Friendly staff, including owners, and best of all, GREAT FOOD! The restaurant utilizes the lounge portion of the building, which is cozy and warmed with a fireplace. Big screen TV's for sports, but if the crowd is different, the remote is yours, choose shows for the kids, or other. The BBQ was delicious, we took home a 1/2 rack of ribs for later. A "snack mix bucket" on the table whets your appetite for the upcoming meals, plus we sampled a couple of sides, both were very tasty. The "mystery cobbler" was a fall special pumpkin and pecan cobbler with pumpkin ice cream. MmmmmmMMM! This area was in need of a "different" option, and this menu fits the bill.

Each year, my company participates in the Monte Vista Cranefest, sending a large group of people to work the event. Nino's is our regular, go-to local restaurant for dinner one night. It's standard, New Mexican cuisine, with red and green Chile, prepared the New Mexican way. The salsa is terrific with adequate, but not overwhelming spice. Service is friendly and efficient, even for our large party of 10 people. They serve nice margaritas, and a variety of other adult beverages. There is a private room up front that seats 10-12, perfect for our group. We certainly plan to eat there again next year when we return.
