Arrived with a large crowd and it took time to get served. The coleslaw they served was vile (very sugary) but the meal was fine...hot crispy fries, great gravy and texas toast. Staff were pleasant.

We were here for breakfast on a Saturday morning. Arrived 5 minutes before breakfast service ended but our waitress was friendly and said we could order from the menu or have what was left of the buffet. We ordered from the menu. Pancakes and omelettes were delicious. Very attentive service. I can imagine this restaurant is very popular with locals. It is what a good hometown restaurant should be. If we lived in Monroeville, I am sure we would come often.

We got take-out at Los Amigos for our hotel, Best Western, two doors down. Server was very helpful in putting together a veg and vegan order. Enjoyed some beer during the wait, and witnessed a steady stream of customers. Nice atmosphere, tasty food, large portion size, and very reasonable prices. This place has it all!

I love BBQ and usually pretty skeptical about trying a new place, but wow what an amazing operation. A large group of Pensacola HOGS made the trip to try out this place and the food was cooked perfectly, quick, great wait staff and priced right. No complaints. You have to try this place. We drove 240 miles round trip and we will do it again.

Walked over to Mel’s from the Truman Capote home site, or what is left of it. Ordered the basic vanilla cone and vanilla milkshake, as that was the only flavor offered. The lady behind the counter was obviously having a bad day. Take it or leave it…nothing special.

Salad was bland; grocery store grade lettuce with a few hamburger pickles right out of the jar and onion. The 6 oz. sirloin steak was good enough and cooked to order. Hamburger steak was plain but OK. Just didn't have anything that set the cafe apart for your average local cafe. Service was OK.

The BBQ place is only open on the first and third Saturday's of each month and when it opens at 11 am there is a line waiting to get in! It is carry out only! Everything I've gotten there has been very good! Ribs, chicken, pulled pork, shrimp, baked beans, cold slaw, it's all good!

Have traveled around the world and this small jewel nestled on the town square just shines!
The ambiance sets you in the mood for old style relaxation and the menu sets you up for food that is better than expected.
Would highly recommend whatever extra travel might be involved to experience what I promise will be a joyful, tasteful meal.
bon apetite!

Although the ticket clearly says "dine-in," they gave me my food in a bag and minus the drink cup. At least it is hot and fresh, though. There are cleaning supplies left sitting around in the open, too.

It's a small courthouse square, not that many shops. If you finally make it over to Sweet Tooth, go on in if they're open. (Strange, the whole town seems to operate on siesta time.) Enjoy your visit; satisfy your sweet tooth.
