Very busy when we went, you do not need to book, but may have to wait for a table. My wife had the fish & chips (18.50 euro) and I had the beef meal. (16.50 euro) Both meals were huge and filled the plate, very well cooked and most enjoyable.
However, thought the prices were way too high.

Monaghan town's longest established family run restaurant (1983). Sean cooks the food, Aisling runs the restaurant (makes the most superb desserts) and downstairs Kevin is famous for his Gin collection! Renowned for our 30 day dry aged beef aged and butchered in-house by Sean. House specialties include Garlic Mushrooms and Chicken Monaghan. Over 75 premium gins from around the world in stock! Kevin's gins have featured in the Sun newspaper, Daily Mail and the Sunday World. Andy's - the largest seller of non-alcoholic gin in Ireland, according to Richmond Marketing. We have a private dining room that can accommodate up to twenty people for functions
My sister and her husband were home for a short break from Essex. We went here on Sunday evening and had a lovely meal and drinks. My sister loves Gin &Tonic and loved discussing the different Gins Kevin has to offer. He was very helpful. The food was fantastic. Steaks for the boys were cooked just as ordered and myself and my sister had chicken dishes which were both superb. Lovely relaxed atmosphere. They were very impressed and will be back. Thanks again Kevin Ashling and all the staff.

Love this restaurant!! Food is amazing as is the staff. Such a lovely atmosphere here. My favourite dish is the jalfrezi as i lile spicy food but my partner doesn't like it too hot so they offered to make it less spicy for him. After the meal they offered us a complimentary glass of wine each which is a lovely touch. Definitely would recommend

We are a chain of 8 family owned coffee shops & home bakeries found throughout Co. Monaghan and Co. Cavan. We specialise in producing home cooked dishes, snacks & gourmet sandwiches made from local sustainable ingredients. Our home bakeries produce a wide range of freshly baked breads, tasty treats & delicious desserts and everything is available for sit in or take away. We believe in quality at an affordable price and we are sure there is something to suit everyone on our extensive menu.
Brought my wife for lunch during her dinner hour. It wasn't very busy at the time, but still had an extremely long wait for a toasted Sandwich. I find this unacceptable, as it is at a time when most people have limited time to spend waiting. Food was ok, but won't be back due to poor service.

At Snaffles, a 2 AA Rosette award-winning restaurant, you can enjoy delicious meals in a relaxed setting. Set on a mezzanine floor in one of the top luxury castle hotels in Ireland, welcoming both residents and local guests, the open-plan restaurant is light and spacious with its dramatic hand-carved ceiling and robust oak beams blending effortlessly with a striking wall of contemporary glass. Signature dishes are cooked with superb locally sourced food which is prepared and presented with imagination and flair. Full of flavour, the courses available make Snaffles Restaurant one of the top Monaghan restaurants on offer. Seasonal dining times may vary.
I like this restaurant, and I come here a bit with family. The food is always to a high standard, very tasty, and the service is quite quick. The staff are always helpful, and the decoration is great. There aren't enough vegetarian options, and the desserts aren't great. The prices are high. As a whole, I do recommend this restaurant, but it has a few improvements to make.

Roberto's offers the best coffee in Monaghan. Although small you generally won't have to wait too long for a table ir seat at the counter. Best for a quick visit rather than a lingering lunch. Great selection of bagels and cakes available.

Firstly... just a wee reminder of the harm that a bad experience can do to a restaurant.... as a work group we used to meet every single lunchtime in "Dinkins" restaurant, always at least 5 of us, sometimes more..until one day (and it's definitely at...MoreHi Eedila, Thank you so much for your great feedback. The team at The Batch Loaf are phenomenal. The whole experience was perfect - warm welcome, stylish atmosphere, amazing food and wonderful service. Sumptuous mushrooms and creamy fish were followed by the most delicious pecan golden caramel chocolate cheesecake which melted in the mouth. My only sadness was not trying The Batch Loaf gin, but that’s something to look forward to next time. Thank you all for a fantastic night - I look forward to coming back.
