Dear Guests, please not that we are closed on Poya Days (full moon days).
We stayed at Peacock Villa just up the road (also highly recommend) and the staff recommended this place. We checked out on TripAdvisor and saw amazing ratings.
The food was so tasty - and incredibly cheap. We ordered chicken, egg and veggie kottu, a bottle of water, and a banoffee roti with ice cream. All of it was delicious but we loved the dessert so much.
We were lucky to not have to wait for a table, but the restaurant was full for the duration.
It seems like a traditional restaurant which has become popular for tourists. Despite this it has retained its local charm.
Altogether our meal cost less than £5 (1,000 rupees) - crazy cheap!

Family run with intimate surroundings. The cook Dimmi lived in Singapore for 4 years working as a nurse in Bishan. She was ecstatic to learn I was from Singapore. Her daughter’s name is Dimali which is the restaurant’s name. When you first walk in, it seems like you are entering someone’s home, the family is gathered, laughing and talking welcoming you into their home. I sat facing the kitchen so you can actually see the women / Dimmi cook. I ordered the mee goreng with prawns which was generously portioned, bits of tomato, garlic and prawn including the shells. The mee goreng has Dimmi’s Sri Lankan twist on it. Juices have bottled water blended fruit. I find Sri Lanka expensive for what you get.

I won’t call it a secret spot but it is certainly not a flashy one, and that’s good news.
Delicious natural juices (also less obvious ones like guava) and cafe dishes sold at very fair prices.
Very gentle and helpful people are working hard in this café, it was a pleasure to come back every day!

This is also reflected in our conveniently located espresso bars, which are designed to reflect the warmth and character of traditional Italian coffee houses, whilst also offering facilities such as wireless access and games.
Our Tuk-tuck driver took us to this place when we asked for good coffee, and we were so happy we found this place! Their smoked chicken Sandwich is the best I’ve had in a long time, and their selection of coffee and juices are great. I would have taken a picture of the Sandwich, but I couldn’t put it down:) we will definitely come back here!

Lovely views over the sea! Sadly our meal was not up to very much. The service was slow and we very nearly got up and left. When the food arrived it was not that good.

Cosy and colorful Sushi Restaurant in a big garden on the river in Mirissa. Relax in our hammocks, enjoy our homemade cheesecake and muffins and of course our delicious Sushi. We are right by the river, you can access us over our bridge, or from the road, right beside Dewmini Roti Shop. We also have one comfortable room for rent. Stay with us at Little Tuna and never be far away from your favorite food :)
Don't expect the best sushi you've ever had, but having some sushi for a change in Sri Lanka after so manny curries.. mjamm!
Tuna was not of very special quality, the crab role was very good though. Portions are not too big, ended up ordering allmost all the rolls on the menu for the two of us. Unfortunately no tempura dishes (which work so nice in a roll..).
Prices are high for Sri Lankan standards I guess, but still ok. So if you're up for something different, and also have some time left (service is quite slow), go here, and when service takes a bit longer, take your beer and go and chill in a hammock!

A journey to italian cuisines. Sarath's pizza, the best pizza available in the town. if you want to taste the right taste of a Italian pizza come to our place.
The restaurant is situated in the main road( a little bit noisy) We ordered homemade gnocchi with bacon and zucchini(incredible nice!!) and 2 pizzas with mushrooms and another with chicken ( both delicious). This place surprised me positively. Good value for the money. I recommend it 100%

Had a great meal here at Papa Mango. Tables are on the beach amongst the palms with a great covered bar. Opted for a whole grilled fish with sides and it was delicious and cooked to perfection. Great selection of cocktails too. Would definitely return

Hi guys! We came to Russian cafe and were impressed with very quality indian food! Simple menu, very fresh food, always thinking about kids if u come with a child (first they serf to a baby). In Mirissa we faced that very often restaurants serve food which was cooked long time ago or even we had an impression that it was served before to some one else... here you can be sure that everything is fresh and be relaxed for your health and health of your child. But you need to be patient generally food is coming in 30 min but it is 100% worth it!

Our unique styled Indian restaurant Tandoori Hut serves Tandoori chicken, Chicken Tikka Masala, Madras Chicken, Tandoori Prawns and Squids, Tandoori Steak, Tandoori Fish / Grilled Fish and vegetables with 4 vegetable sides cooked in Indian style and Indian Homemade Naan bread day-to-day as well as Vegetarian dishes. Our vision is to create a cozy and comfortable ambience to the guest. Above of all of these our curries are contained various levels of spiciness so before you decide what to have it just read the full menu in order to understand your abilities in handling the spice level.
We wanted to go back but ran out of time! My friend took us here as she knew of the former owner who had passed away. The new owners took the place on board to keep his spirit alive and you can taste the passion and love in their masala curries. It’s very much worth the few extra rupees for endless rice and bread and an adorable experience in the wooden hut style restaurant. The husband and wife also own a stunning batik shop across the road I highly recommend a look!
