Restaurant taken over from Zest, with new management. Serving Italian and European Cusine, using local ingredients where possible. Now also serving fresh fish and seafood, and beautiful steaks from a local producer. Our specials board is updated frequently. We cater for small to medium size parties, and our restaurant is ideal for birthdays, anniversaries and other special ocassions. Our restaurant has recently been redecorated and offers a cosy feel, with friendly service and freshly prepared food.
Not a small party including 2 babies for a birthday meal . Started badly with the restaurant not having sufficient high chairs but they kindly sourced from another establishment so that was resolved. Great food then followed along with good service. Drinks order was painful and not efficient really this needs addressing but compliments to the chef . Stand out for me was the lasagne and pizza.

The Smugglers Inn offers a cosy bar, a delightful restaurant and accommodation by the sea at Blue Anchor Bay in Somerset. We are on the edge of Exmoor and the Quantock hills and make a perfect base for walking holidays. The West Somerset steam railway runs through Blue Anchor and the station is just along the road at the end of the bay. Blue Anchor beach is a long sandy beach and is just across the road from the Inn.
We went to the Smugglers on New Year's Eve. We arrived to a very warm welcome. Dinner was wonderful. The food was hot and portions were large! We were entertained by a singer. He was great, not too loud and his music suited the audience. At midnight, bubbly was provided along with fireworks and a rousing chorus of Auld Lang Syne.
The atmosphere was relaxed and friendly, it felt intimate - almost like going to a private house party. The whole thing wasn't overpriced. It was well organised and I can honestly say we thoroughly enjoyed every minute of it. The evening went far too quickly.
I'd like to say a very big thank you to Keith and the team. We really can't thank you enough for putting on such a smashing evening. Can't wait for the next do at the Smugglers.

Very busy on a Friday after Christmas which was good to see.
Very friendly service and all the staff seemed to get on well with eachother.
Food was lovely, generous portions and is good for carnivores and veggies.
Really good light and fluffy naan bread. Best starter I have ever had was a small fritter with paneer onion and spinach.
We will return! Booking advisable.
Highly advisable to book.

Lovely 1930's cafe where the food is good and they do a great hot chocolate! Kids and dogs also welcome. Nothing but praise for this place which is right on the seafront. Free parking along the road and can go for a lovely walk along the beach or visit the steam railway.

After a very early start and 4 hour drive down from London, we decided to treat ourselves to breakfast. Large breakfast included bacon x 2, sausage x 2, beans and black pudding (to replace eggs) plus toast x 2. Washed down with a cup of tea. So nice we booked for Sunday roast, which was large slices of beef, large Yorkshire pudding, roast potatoes, carrot, cabbage and suede. You have to book for roast dinners, but normal menu is available if you turn up on spec. Puddings were enormous and the cherry cheese cake to die for.

Passed here many times over the years, finally popped in for a light breakfast and we were not disappointed, the toast was the chunkiest we have ever had, the home made marmalade was tasty and plenty of butter to accompany the toast, also lovely pot of tea and a mug of coffee, all topped off with good service...and not over priced.

We popped in following the reviews and ordered a couple of steaks. They were superb - so much flavour and the portions were a decent size. Had a couple of the local ales and these were fine. Really enjoyed it and recommend to any Steak-lovers.

The Apple Tree Tearooms is to be found half way up the tree-lined avenue in Minehead. Serving a healthy cooked breakfast, soups, jacket potatoes, toasties, sandwiches and baguettes and salads and Ploughmans. Luscious home-made cream teas, cakes, cookies and slices make this venue a mecca for visitors and locals alike. Boasting a colourful interior and equally delightful al fresco tea garden, this café is ideally suited to families with young children, as children's books, toys and treasure hunts are provided. There is good disabled access and facilities. Oh, and dogs are also most welcome -they are offered dog blankets, treats and water bowls (as long as they are owners are well-behaved).
