This restaurant is part of a chain called Original Italian Pizza. This location is called Downtown OIP and Grille
The staff is always really attentive of our special orders. The ingredients are always fresh and orders are correct. Prices are very reasonable.

This is a faith-based restaurant but it is not in-your-face. We tried several dishes and found they were consistently well prepare. Service is outstanding.

Stopped here on our way back to Harrisburg Saturday evening. It was surprisingly not crowded. We shared a medium sized stromboli with ham, pepperoni and cheese and it was made perfectly. We dipped in marinara sauce and it was the just the right size for two people. Our waitress was attentive and offered to fill our water and coffee. We will definitely stop here again!

This place is right off the exit from 322. Our waitress was very friendly and there were lots of regulars there. Service was quick. We ordered stuffed pepper soup, An omelette and a BLT. Everything was good and reasonably priced. Cash only. We would return.

We were there for an early dinner on a Monday. I had the peeled steamed shrimp dinner. It was excellent! They serve it with a salad (nice size), vegetable, fries and a loaf of their home made bread. Great meal for $13.99. Very friendly service.

Seven of us went for dinner. Wife, sis-in-law, brother and sister-in-law, niece and her husband. Great salads. House dressing is bottled and sold locally. Yes, it's that good! Even the small portion of spaghetti is almost too much. Service was good but not exceptional. Prices are reasonable. Recommend.

The Walnut Cheese Nook is so much more than a small country store and visitors will be surprised at what they find after walking through the door. In addition to fresh baked goods and usual items found in most rural stores/delis, the WCN offers a full breakfast and lunch menu featuring a variety of items to satisfy most hungers. Breakfast items range from stuffed 3-meat (bacon, sausage, & ham) breakfast burritos to pancakes/French toast. The hoagies, Panini’s, salads, and hot entrees are prepared fresh and are very filling.
The highlight of the WCN is the full service gourmet coffee shop which was install about a year ago. I can honestly say the Mocha’s and specialty coffees are delicious and far surpass those being offered in fancier “chain” coffee shops.
In addition to the great food and beverages, the friendliness of the employees helps to create an environment where everyone is welcome!
So if you are traveling between Harrisburg and State College take a short 10 minute detour off your trip to enjoy a tasty scone and wash it down with a great cup of coffee! (Plus you pass the Juniata Valley Winery on your way!)

Gaunt Family Restaurant is a small Family Owned restaurant/small latino convenience store. We are family run and strive to always make sure we take care of anyone that comes to eat with us as if they are a part of our family.
The Guante Family Restaurant has been our go-to place for delicious Latin American food. This weekend we were fortunate to be able to sample their new brunch menu and it did not disappoint!
The brunch menu offers a nice variety of items (all made fresh) at very affordable prices for the quality and portion size. We started our meal off with a Cuban Latte and rice pudding. Up to this point in my life I loathed rice pudding, but after eating the GFR’s version, I am hooked and could have eaten a whole bowl of this delicious concoction.
We sampled three of the entrees (see brunch menu photo for descriptions): 1. Mangu con Los Tres Golpes- This was a nice surprise with the mashed green plantains combining with the eggs for a very flavorful combination. 2. Desayuno Salvadoreno- the fried plantains with Spanish cream along side of the black beans/rice were great! 3. Brisket Breakfast Tacos- The house made beef brisket (good flavor and portion) with cucumber pico de gallo were very tasty.
We were very pleased with all three choices and felt like we had just had a little escape from Mifflintown after dining. If these choices sound a little to wild for you, the menu also contains items such as breakfast sandwiches and breakfast burritos.
In my last review I stated that the owners were in the process of remodeling the restaurant, well it is just about finished. There are new floors, ceilings, and soothing painted walls, in addition to custom made tables, which have turned the restaurant into a warm and inviting dining destination.
It is nice to have a restaurant serving this high quality of Latin American food just off of Rt 322 between Harrisburg and State College. Besides The Guante Family Restaurant, the next closest place to get food of this caliber would be NYC. Make the GRF a stop in your travel plans, you will not be disappointed.

Stopped in for lunch on Sunday afternoon and was very pleased with the place. My husband had spaghetti and I had the grilled chicken salad. Portions were large and the prices were very reasonable. Our waitress was very friendly and our service was great. Would recommend to others and would stop in again when in the area.

The food was great. Billie the server was the best server I've had anywhere in months and the bathroom, while rustic, was clean and functional... I loved my visit. Be back soon!
