Papa Buck's BBQ is the right place for "deee-licious" barbeque, beef brisket, ribs, chicken and more! We have a new home in Metter, so stop by and say hey! Our new address is 1085 South Lewis Street | Metter GA 30439 (beside Jay's Truck Stop)
You have to experience this restaurant. Some of the best BBQ in the south. The reviews tell the story. Don't pass Metter by on the way to Savannah without stopping.

My husband and I popped into Candler Pharmacy today while out walking for some ice cream. However, when I got to the counter, I saw that they had grapefruitaid and changed my mind. I was expecting some syrupy laden concoction, but to my surprise the young man was actually pressing real fruit juice into a cup! For the grapefruitaid they add half a lime to give it a bit of depth...and it is absolutely delicious!!! If I had ordered this drink in a restaurant I would had been charged well over $5, but a large cup of ice cream for my husband AND this fruitaid was just over $3! That's an incredible bargain! Today after enjoying my drink my husband asked me if we were going to come here more often now. I replied "Absolutely!". This is a can't miss in Metter!

Convenient to Interstate 16. They have the $5 meal specials and excellent shakes. It is a nice place to take a driving and restroom break for a D Q ice cream treat. Yes, you would hope for better service.

Fried Chicken, Mashed potatoes & brown Gravy, delicious cornbread and hot yeast rolls, country green beans, shall I go on? We were driving back from Tybee Island to Atlanta and stopped in here - so glad we did. Great service, down home country cooking - friendly staff, $9 lunch buffet. This is the GO TO place.

I-16 exit 104.. Go north about a 1/4 mile and it's located behind Parker's Gas Station on the left
I ordered the 1/2 rack of Baby Back Ribs. They were cooked perfectly and served with a splash of sauce on them. They only offer one sauce which is a thick vinegar base.. a little heat. The ribs lacked that good smoky taste. A different sauce variety would probably help.
For my sides, I had Brunswick Stew and
Cole Slaw. The stew was heavy tomatoe pasty tasting .. I didn't care for it. The Cole Slaw was so so.
Bread options are Corn Bread (which I had) White Bread and Texas Toast. The corn bread tasted good but it fell apart trying to butter it?? I'd try the Texas Toast if I ever went back.
Not sure I would go back but BBQ is subjective. You might like it better than I did, so give it a try.

Stopped for lunch traveling from Atlanta to St Augustine The salsa is great-- lots of cilantro and the "mexican" guacamole was amazing. Carne asada tacos were very good and very friendly service. We don't travel that road too often but will stop again if we can.

Had a beef and bacon cheesesteak grilled sandwich with hash-browns and country gravy. May not be the healthiest meal, but it sure was good. Great service and very friendly staff. If you are feeling down, eat here and I guarantee you that you will feel better when you leave!

The food is always good. They never have iced tea, but other than that, it's awesome. Usually very quiet, never too busy. I try something different each time.

Made the mistake of stopping here for Sunday lunch while traveling. Restaurant was very crowded. Ordered multiple meals. Chicken consistently overcooked and all food was over salted. Staff gave us grilled chicken salad instead of fried chicken, which as it turned out was better since it wasn't overcooked. Staff also forgot salad dressing and tongue torch. Lines made getting corrections frustrating.
The restaurant was dirty. Hard to understand why it was so busy based on this experience.

Disaster. 7 pm on a Thursday evening. 30 minutes until chicken will be ready and 8 minutes for biscuits. We got something from Taco Bell menu but not what we wanted. Watched at least 12 customers walk out. Appears to me there is a definite lack of supervision
