Cult restaurant is situated in Vid, 4km dist.to Metkovic onthe arm of the river Neretwa, in front of Forum Romanum of Roman capitol for eastern country
Rustic riverside restaurant on the margins of the densely rushed wetlands, close to the Bosnian border - allow plenty of time if crossing for snail speed bureaucratic stamping of passports...
Our lunch was enlivened by a wedding anniversary party with accompanying male singers & accordion singing traditional songs.
Parking difficult.
Modern, well displayed Roman museum opposite gives discount to diners.

The Neretva Valley is an area of outstanding beauty that speaks best for itself. Its wealth and spaciousness are an ornament of our country and a gift from God and nature. In the heart of this oasis, off the road between Metković and Opuzen, there is a hotel-restaurant Villa Neretva, one of the leading Croatian restaurants. Here, traditional local dishes of the Neretva Delta are offered such as frog and eel stew (brudet), seafood, fish salads, meat dishes, vegetarian quisine and a variety of other gastronomic specialities.A special tourist attraction of this area is well known photosafari on traditional Neretvian boats – ladjas, which are over 100 years old. Our guests will find endless pleasure sailing on these boats through untouched nature – swamp, as this unique area of exceptional scenic beauty is the only delta in Croatia. In the heart of the swamp there is the Neretva House restaurant where our guests are served lunch after boating.Apart from this programme, we offer additional incentive activities such as picking mandarines and a school out of doors as well as some other programmes for our guests. Once you have seen this beautiful valley, you will definitely wish to come and visit it again.WELCOME TO THE NERETVA VALLEY AND THE HOTEL - RESTAURANT “VILLA NERETVA”
We stopped for late evening meal after a long day on the road. We were made welcome and served some really delicious cream tomato soup and salad. The next morning we returned for breakfast and and ordered omelettes (ham and cheese) which were very nice and we appreciated the flavour of the local cheese. That was all "washed down" with excellent coffee. Good food - reasonable price -gracious host.

Restaurant Pecina is located in Ploce where the A-1 Hwy ends and before you get to the marshy area of the Neretva River. There are no gas stations/ rest stops with food on a long stetch of the new Hwy before Ploce. Pecina has a lovely, vine covered Terrace, a dark bar that looks like a cave and two indoor dining areas (one with the cave theme). We ate there on our way to Dubrovnik and again, on the way back.We were pleasantly surpised both times! On the first visit I had a very tasty tomato based seafood risotto and my husband had an excellent grilled shish-k-bob. On our 2nd visit we started with an exceptionally good marinated seafood salad. As an entree my husband had the Adriatic squid. He had a very generous portion of 8 or 9 very tasty squid. I had a wood grilled Bass which was one of the freshest, tastiest fish I had the whole trip. (That is really saying something because we ate a lot of fish!). On top of this the prices are very reasonable for the quality and quantity of food served.
My only complaint is about the bathrooms. Although they are basically clean and provide a generous supply of toilet paper and paper towels they are dingy and dark. They need a fresh coat of paint and better lighting. In addition, the 2nd time I was there the toilet seat was off in the ladies room.

Me and my husband visited restaurant Konoba Narona when returning from our trip from Serbia, Macedonia, Greece, Albania , Montenegro and Croatia. Our last stop was for lunch in Croatia. We wanted to eat some traditional fish jegulje from the Neretva river. We asked the locals where to eat the best fish and they send us to the right place. The restaurant is situated near the river. We were siting inside near the fire place. The friendly owner served us first local proschutto which was delicious with some fresh home made bread. For a main course we ordered jegulje on grill and they were the the best in my life. Fresh, perfectly grilled and served with some local vegetables. We decided to take some local wine, so we ordered some Žilavka from the region of Bosnia-everything together-price,service,taste, value -perfect. So my advice if you are in the neighbourhood or even if you need to make some extra kilomethers its worth going. We will certanly go back. Compliments.

We stopped on a recommendation from a helpful woman named Susie, who was from this area (Neretva River delta). She recommended the restaurant and the local delicacy: stewed eels and frogs (Brudet Jegulja Zabe). The staff were very friendly and the waiter was happy when...MoreDear guest, Thank you for your review, we were glad to hear you enjoied your visit to our restaurant and hope to see you again soon. We departed from Dubrovnik in order to visit Naronna. After our visit to Naronna, we topped here for lunch before continuing the drive to Split. The establishment is clean, comfortable, and air conditioned. We dined on a set menu which was really a cut above the rest. The appetizer was Croatian proscuitto and cheese; followed by a green salad. The main course was grilled pork chops and breast of chicken accompanied by mash potatoes. Dessert was a type of layer cake, a bit too sweet for my taste. Wine and beer as well as coffee were available.

The interior is decorated in the autochthonous style of Dalmatian tavern and offers Neretva specialties and all other delicacies that the guest desires.
Pros: value for money, big portions, has some interesting speciality dishes like black risotto and frog dishes but we had snitzel which was excellent, indoor and outdoor Seating. Cons: difficult to to find, unlikely you'd go unless passing through, but do if you can.

Currently travelling from Australia with my family through Croatia and as we are exploring the beautiful Neretva Valley we stopped at this restaurant by chance... we tried grilled fish and a frog brudet... both of these were amazing and were complimented by beautiful wine. The customer service was also fantastic so next time we visit Croatia we will be sure to visit again. I highly recommend this restaurant.

Pub & resto TABAKERA was created as a desire to bring together enjoying the food, beer, wine ... Pleasant atmosphere in the city center We hope you will like the food, offer drinks and decorating ... ALL.
Tasty food, excellent service, very reasonable price and nice ambient right across museum.
We were there with three kids on a hot day, looking for a place to eat and lady from the museum recommended Tabakera right across the museum entrance.
We were pleasantly surprised by the served meal, they did everything we've asked for the kids and the price was reasonable.
