Tucked well away from the main shopping district of Melton, Thai Delight is in Scott Street in a little shopping strip. Thai Delight by name and Thai Delight for the taste buds! DEFINATELY book as this little place gets busy, there also seemed to be an endless stream of takeaways coming out of the kitchen too. Great tasting, authentic and fresh Thai food. Parking can be a little hard to find. Great place and I will definitely be back.

Here at the Macs Hotel we offer great value dining in our spacious Bistro. We have an extensive dining menu with plenty of choices for the whole family, along with our delicious standard pub fare. We also offer a kids menu with yummy kids favourites. Being a family friendly Hotel, when the kids begin to wriggle you can sit back, relax and enjoy your meal while the kids make use of our playground area. Whether you're meeting friends or family, the Macs Hotel is a great place to enjoy a meal.
We catch up with friends regularly here for dinner. I always order the same "chicken Louisiana " as it never disappoints. Orders are often slow being taken but once ordered meals come reasonably quickly. Would definately recommend booking. Often very busy and sometimes noisy. Has a kids playground that definately keeps our 3 & 4 yo busy.

Ok, so you’re beetling down the Western Highway and all of a sudden your tummy starts rumbling [getting through the city took hopelessly and frustratingly longer after breakfast than you planned]. You look around and all you can see is a flat bleak landscape filled with monotonous residential roofs, garish commercial buildings smothered with industrial signs, and petrol stations advertising outrageous cents per litre. With a tired shrug you resign yourself to a bland pie up the road at hopefully a not-so-distant Highway Service Centre. Rockbank comes and goes, and soon Melton slides into view. Now here is your big chance at satisfaction, because tucked away in what otherwise is just another unremarkable highway suburb is a gourmet oasis guaranteed to tease the palate and satisfy your hunger pangs. So take the next off-ramp to the heart of Melton and head for what is positively a gastronomical delight.
Stone Bar and Grill is found at 240 High Street, Melton [right opposite the Melton City Council in case you have a Municipal complaint to make], right on the corner with Smith Street. On entering you will find a pleasant ambience, any number of solid chairs and tables, with a number of multi-person booths along the windowed walls. It looks good, it smells good and it is Good.
Staff are friendly without being over-officious – they know their menu and offer prompt service, even when, from even the quickest survey of the lunchtime crowd, they should be run of their feet.
Now what makes this place so good – it’s the grub, beautifully prepared, attractively presented and utterly delicious. One of our party had a Parma, and didn’t talk about anything else the whole mealtime. Ditto for the passenger who had Beef Ribs, who had to be restrained from ordering another helping. The driver had a Porterhouse steak and sung its praises to anyone who would listen, pushing back his plate and declaring that he wasn’t going to have another thing because he wanted the taste of the best meal he’d ever had to linger on his palate as long as possible.
And then he made a big mistake – gluttony overwhelmed his resolve and he ordered a dessert – Sticky Date pudding. In fact we all had Sticky Date Pudding, and to a man [and a woman] consumed the best Sticky Date Pudding we’d had in sixty years [even displacing Mum’s Jam Roly Polly, Upside-down Apricot Pie and Plum Pudding]. We drooled as with each mouthful the butterscotch sauce seeped into our consciousness and mouths – the oohing and aahing making it perfectly obvious that this was perfection. Just like the characters in “The Magic Pudding” everyone was thinking “Wouldn’t it be marvellous if every spoonful I took of this delicacy was immediately replaced with more pudding”.
So go to Stone Bar and Grill for the burgers [humdingers], go for the mains [oh the mains], but above all make a beeline for the Sticky Date Pudding – it will test your resolve not to ask for second helping.
She gives Stone Bar and Grill 4.5 stars, so does he. She gives the Sticky date Pudding 6 out 5 stars, he goes the full Michelin and gives it 10.

Home Straight Bistro is a great location for lunch or dinner across the week. Open 7 days a week, the Home Straight Bistro offers a wide range of menu choices to appeal to everyone. The Bistro area also includes a children’s play area.
We chose this venue for the spacious dining room so we could enjoy lunch without being cramped. We all selected from the special menu and hardly heard any negative comments. Always get consistent above average meals that tick all the boxes. I know people who travel here from West Melton too so has a good reputation for quality.

We went looking for a place for lunch and most seemed closed so we came into here. Although we missed the lunch rush we had a couple of ham cheese and tomato toastie. The best we've had. Homemade mayo, and smoked ham yum!!
We couldn't resist the jellyslice either and we loved it!
We will be back. Friendly staff to match

Hubby & I caught up with our daughter here for lunch today.
Super friendly waitress!
The atmosphere was lovely, although it was a little warm due to the air conditioning not working very well.
Our meals were fantastic!
Bruschetta was yummy & the vegetable lasagne, fisherman's plate & chicken/mushroom risotto were amazing!!
One tiny criticism....the chef forgot to put the mushrooms in my risotto, but it was flippin delish & I didn't want to send it back.
Thanks for a great experience.

We have never been disappointed here. We've been for breakfast or lunch many times.
You're met with a smile and taken to your table. Very quick drinks orders then food orders but no pressure.
Portion control is very generous. You won't be disappointed with the portions nor the quality. Wide variery of choices too.
In peak times it is a little noisy but you don't feel the excessive buzz is overpowering.
Very similar to American diner style for those who have experienced that.
For an enjoyable wholesome restaurant experience, go to Lazy Moes.
PS. Read the rules on the menu - they're hilarious.
