Melilla (/məˈliːjə/ mə-LEE-yə; Spanish: [meˈliʎa], locally [meˈliʝa]; Arabic: مليلية, Maliliyyah; Berber languages: ⵎⵔⵉⵜⵙ, Mřič) is a Spanish autonomous city located on the north coast of Africa, sharing a border with Morocco, with an area of 12.3 km (4.7 sq mi). Melilla, along with Ceuta, is one of two permanently inhabited Spanish cities in mainland Africa. It was part of the Province of Málaga until 14 March 1995, when the city's Statute of Autonomy was passed.

Belgian cuisine restaurant with good and fresh fish(ask for Lenguado Bravo) and meat(solomillo). The give special dinners at Saint Valentine's day with suitable decoration. Dont go without asking for their special coffee on a very origina coffee machine(delicious). Maybe too classical and needs a new menu(some dishes are a bit expensive for its value)

I'll admit that my view of Moroccan cuisine was shaped several years ago during a stint backpacking round the country with friends when I was 18. We didn't have much money and although we ate well it was never in the most spectacular surroundings.
This place, however, puts those experiences to shame.
From the outside things don't look promising: a shuttered up shop where the restaurant used to be, a small homemade sign directing us further up the street, a small entrance hall...and then what has to be one of the biggest surprises I have experienced in a restaurant! El Caracol Moderno is indeed a modern, tastefully decorated tribute to the country a mere half mile further down the road. The interior would not look out of place in London.
The menu is extensive and authentic but modestly priced. Chicken and beef tagines were succulent and well spiced whilst a huge plate of lamb kofta bubbled in it's sauce.
This place's only downside is that it is so far out from Melilla's traditional centre that I fear only the most ardent foodies will seek it out, but those who do will be richly rewarded.

Small very friendly bar with excellent food friendly service. Ordered croquettes and gambas pil pil - both good- but also served complementary fresh grilled anchovies and the finest albondegas followed by a free rum liqueur for my husband. Situated on a small side street next to parque Hernandez close to plaza espana. Good value too and packed with locals.

My favorite little tapas bar in the world! The tapas here are off the charts.....if you're a fish and seafood lover that is!

What a treat this place is. Visited for dinner...the waiter was engaging and determined to ensure we enjoyed our meal. Whilst the surroundings may not be the most sumptuous ... what it lacked in decor was made up for by the quality of the food. At every turn we were served delicious plates. The prawns were outstanding as was the turbot and steak ... Just great. Thanks for a lovely meal and wonderful service.
