We stayed 7 nights in Santorini and this restaurant was recommended by the manager of the hotel we stayed as a very good local cuisine restaurant in Megalochori.
We went the first time there and we meet Suzi who presented the menu very well to us.
The food was amazing and we transmite our compliments to the chef.
After our meal the chef come out with to glasses of local spirit drink and we had a chat about the traditional food.
I work as a manager in a fine dining restaurant and I can say from far that the food at Raki is very good quality and the chef Sakis is a very high class chef.
The portions were extremely big, I couldn`t eat all.
Thank you Sakis and Suzi... keep up the good work !

Greek and mediteranean cuisine, vegeterian, vegan, fresh fishes, seafood, desserts, wines, drinks, romantic atmosphere with flowers and candles.
Slow-cooking at its finest! Don't come here if you're in a rush. We just had a beer at lunchtime whilst visiting the village and were inveigled into returning in the evening by the promise of some Greek music.
We had to wait an age but the main courses were superb! Just go and try it for yourself.

We visited the restaurant just last night to celebrate my hubby's birthday. This is the #1 listed restaurant on TripAdvisor near our hotel so we decided to give it a try and it didn't disappoint ! Please note that the restaurant is located on the second floor rooftop and the restaurant on the ground floor is a different one.
Ambience: Romantic ! - soothing music and dimly lit during the night. I love the rooftop concept !
Food: we ordered the fava beans (recommended by the local people) - lovely dish I enjoyed it very much. Hubby ordered the lamb shank- was yummy as well, with mash and beetroot sauce. I had the cod fish, with beetroot and potato and lemon sauce at the side. Presentation was great! I think the Chef presented the dishes with a wide array of different flavours..interesting...
We also had the pistachio soufflé to end the dinner. Nice !
Service : waitress was attentive. Everything was good! I would recommend this place !
Our total bill came up to £59 for 2 pax.

We were recommended by Ocean Wave Tours to have dinner here. I believe it translates to between us. I suspect it’s a local haunt so we were able to avoid the tourist scene (hypocritical since we are tourists ourselves). The food was really good..I had grilled shrimp and my companions had steak varieties (t-bone and filet) along with potatoes. All were exceptional.

Athermi Restaurant is located in the Village of Megalohori on the beautiful island of Santorini, Greece. With breathtaking views of the famous volcano and the world renowned enchanting sunsets, Athermi's delicious menu and impeccable service will satisfy every appetite.
We went to Athermi at 12pm and we were the only couple there. The service is EXCELLENT and the best Greek food I ever tried in my life. Amazing view and silence will complement this experience. Priceless experience with very reasonable prices!

Incredible location hidden between the streets of the medieval castle of Emborio. It is incredible and i can provide you a lot of pictures about it
The cutest cafe! Hidden away in the small streets of Emporio, this cafe has so much charm its hard to resist. The owners, Georgia and Vassillis are the friendliest cafe owners I met here.
The baklava is just heavenly, especially with the ice cream. Frappe is always good in Santorini and the ones I had here top the charts!!
A little gem!

Taverna Gfeca a conduzione familiare, strada che dalla statale per Emporio sale verso il centro di Megalochori
A very impressive old-style tavern with tasty and authentic local food; cheerful service and an extensive drinks menu. This definitely furnished us with the opportunity to thoroughly immerse ourselves in the local cuisine and local culture!

We were there in our last day in Greece,a fter 14 amazing days, and it was definitely the farewell dinner that we will never forget.
Megalochori is a must in Santorini, it is traditional settlement that is not as famous as Fira or overrated Oia, but is worth a visit (or two, or three).
And in one quiet and peacefull street, is Taverna Tzanakis. It is a family-driven restaurant with typicall greek dishes, while you listen to greek music, apart from the crowds of Oia, and best of all is that as soon as you enter the taverna, the father comes by and says hello and asks you for your trip. And suddenly, you feel part of this family, who really cares about you and you tell them your experiences. The moussaka was quite good (although I am sorry to say it was not the best of the trip), and the beef was just superb.
They don't push you to hurry up your meals, and they come by to ask if there is something you need, but you don't feel stressed at all. And finally, the mother comes and gives you a non-alcoholic drink of honey and a homemade dessert for free. Both delicious.
Really, even though they knew it was our last night in Santorini, and we were not going to spend money in their house the next day, they were so so nice, that I can only say: give them the chance to become your greek family for one night in Santorini!
And last but not least, the prices are absolutely not high!

Brilliant find in Megalochori village. Staying in the village for 5 nights we visited the restaurant three times. It offers traditional, fresh, seasonal food - the tomato fritters were wonderful.10/10! What also made it special was the attention paid to us by the 'waiter', possibly owner, whose name we sadly don't know but who showed us to 'our table' by the end of the week and supplied us with a variety of postcards each evening and a guide book the first night which we used throughout the rest of the week. A wonderful find and a real Greek experience in such a comfortable setting. Would certainly recommend.

We drove to Pyrgos from Perissa to see the Castle and Church. It was in the middle of July and about 42 degrees. The middle of the heatwave. After our trek up to the Castle this was the perfect place to sit and drink a frappé with ice cream. It is in the centre of the village and a beautiful place to rest and watch the world go buy. The lady who served us was charming too. The toilet was spotless!
