For most people the food is fine, but if you cook Indian food at home, using separate spices, you would probably be disappointed, (as its a little bland). The service is good and compared to some similar restaurants in the region it is cheaper.

The strong aroma of Asian spices, with a tinge of Bollywood fervour and the enthralling sight of tuk-tuk — Maazi lets you drench in the spirit of India, scrumptiously.
As soon as we stepped into the building it felt like we had walked out of Matlock and into India. The ambience and rose petals on the stairs were a lovely touch, which was followed through into the restaurant.
The restaurant was a delight with Annie and James welcoming as we arrived, they ensured we had everything we needed.
The food was excellent and beautifully presented.

Dinner - Tuesday to Saturday 6.30-9pm. Lunch - Wednesday to Saturday 12-2pm. Tucked away in the heart of idyllic Matlock, Derbyshire, Stones is a modern, eclectic restaurant with a stylish, welcoming interior and a superb modern British menu. The restaurant, which added a new riverside conservatory in May 2013, is jointly run by Kevin Stone, Head Chef, partner, Jade Himsworth and sister, Katie Temple. Stones' riverside conservatory overlooks the babbling River Derwent. The menus change seasonally to reflect the very best in local produce, and the wine to match the food. Stones' philosophy is to provide a fantastic dining experience in a relaxed setting. The dining room which is popular with couples, locals and visitors, is a perfect place for romantic, family or business meals. Stones has been awarded two AA Rosettes for culinary excellence.
Although Mrs G has visited Stones several times before, this was my first time and I have to say I wasn’t disappointed. The service was excellent throughout the meal and the food was simply superb. Highlights were the chicken main course and the chocolate &...MoreDear AlanandSally, Please send our thanks to Mrs G for finally dragging you along to Stones. It’s great for us (and Mrs G) to read how much you clearly enjoyed the food, service and value. Best regards, Jade Owner, Stones

Really friendly , was a complete stranger but within minutes everyone in the bar spoke to me , staff very friendly too and took the trouble to bring out my food to the pub garden , dog was also delighted to see the plate of sausage peas mash and gravy that I had - real meat gravy not from a packet , which was really really nice and just shows the care spent making even a simple meal absolutely delicious . A lovely old pub too and well worth a visit - i loved the cactus plants in the window , that is very unusual and a nice touch for a fellow cactus lover . All in all I am so glad i visited , I am sure you will too .

We were welcomed and shown to our table. Nothing was too much trouble and we noted that the proprietor was moving around the Restaurant greeting people and ensuring they were happy.
The food was perfect, hot and very tasty. We started with a Pickle Tray and Pupperdoms.
Then various Curry dishes. We shared a Desert as we were so full T his was not our first visit as we first went some 16 years ago and we will continue in the future!!

We ordered 3 courses a three colour garlic bread, calzone, spaghetti, fudge cake and profiteroles. All food was cooked to perfection and presentation was brilliant. We also ordered a coke and a bottle of wine.
All in we had an amazing meal with friendly staff. Thanks for a great night.

1st visit today halfway through a 5 mile walk. We shared a full size falafel meal. Came with garlic olives, hummus, pitta bread and the amazing Green Way salad. The salad includes the usual plus roast potatoes, roasted seeds, avocado, kiwi, apple, mango, grapes, and pomegranate seeds.
Not sure it would be suitable for wheelchairs due to entrance steps and narrow doorways (old building).
Stays open late on Friday nights.

The Barley Mow is a lively and eccentric Free House located in the beautiful village of Bonsall. Famous for the 'World Championship Hen Races', and for being the most likely place to be abducted by aliens according to UFO magazine ! Fine food, great ale & one of the best live music venues in the area !
After Reading all these good reviews we must have chose an off day. To be honest I can genuinely say the meal was nothing to write home about! Won't be revisiting.

At Cherry's Cafe we provide a clean, friendly and value for money service. Our cafe is an oasis off the busy A6 road. We are a licensed cafe so you can enjoy a beer or glass of wine in the cafe. We also serve Irish coffees. There are plush leather seats inside. We use local produce and all our cakes are made by us in the cafe. We have a five star hygiene rating and have a Derbyshire County Council Heart of Derbyshire gold award in recognition of the healthy eating pledges we have made and the practices we follow such as - using a low fat oil for frying, using a lean minced beef in our products, using cooked ham with all visible fat trimmed off, using a low fat cheese, using semi skimmed milk, ensuring our chips are heated to 175 degrees to reduce the take up of fat, shaking and drying chips to remove excess fat, removing salt from our tables and not using it in our cooking or baking, offering fresh fruit, salads, wholemeal bread, pitta bread, and brown rice, offering sugar free drinks and freshly madefruit drink. We source our meats from Robin Maycock a top award winning master butchers which was established in 1850! We have an e-Changer horizontal baby changing table in our washroom and have a DCC's breastfeeding welcome here award. Our Cafe is fairly unique in that we have our own small limestone stalactite cave which our guests can view if they wish. It is home to the European cave spider, Meta menardi, a long-jawed orb-weaving spider. We offer storage boxes for bikers wishing to leave heavy helmets and coats whilst they visit Matlock Bath. Cherry's Cafe supports financially the work of Just for Dogs rescue and rehoming centre at Brailsford Derbyshire. We do this through the sale of handcrafted items, table quizes and customers kind donations. Our staff are all fully trained in food safety and customer services. While we recognise that some customers have specific dietary requirements, we are unable to offer a gluten or nut free menu. Due to the multi use of equipment in our compact kitchen area, supplier disclaimers and the possibility of human error, we can not offer a total assurance that our menu items are 100% gluten or nut free. As such we consult with customers to ensure that they can make the most informed menu decisions. Please speak to us as we will be happy to provide information about our food and preparation. It is our aim at Cherry''s Cafe to offer clean, friendly and good value for money service at all times. In the unfortunate event of things going wrong and mistakes happening we will do our best to rectify the situation to everyone''s satisfacton. Where mistakes have occurred we would expect the opportunity to correct them at the time.

We sampled roast Turkey, roast beef, pork steak with Stilton & black pudding, steak & ale pie. Everyone was happy with their choices and the vegetables and accompaniments were very good too. Main courses and drinks all round for £102 represented very good value. Lovely ambience, Xmas tree and decorations were delightful, and the staff efficient and friendly. Result!!
