Cafe Frikadellen is started by a Danish couple and here we serve Danish and European food such as burgers, steaks, chicken and fries, Italian food, Greek food, etc. Every Friday we have barbecue buffet from 6 pm. And this event which is often well attended. The cafe has outdoor areas where you can sit in the shade and enjoy your food. Inside we have a small playroom for the kids and some cozy tables where you can sit with your notebook and write home.
A no nonsense place with standard dishes (including hamburgers) and pleasant service. There is also a small handicraft shop that's worth a visit.

While the hotel is not good, the 2 restaurants are nice, with good Western food and in a lovely atmosphere with Gardens and big swimming pool. One of the better choices for Europeans and Americans in Masaka area.
This is by far the worst place I've visited during my travels through East-Africa, in total about two years so I've visited quite some places. This place pretends to be up-market but they're merely keeping up appearances. Mediocre but especially very slow service, very bad management and worthless kitchen. Just went here for a quick lunch (which turned out to become a very long lunch) so can't say anything about the rooms but looking at the previous reviews I imagine they can't be much better than my experience. My advice, don't be fooled by the nice entrance, look for a different place.

If only this place was open more regularly it might be rated as great. Sadly everytime I've been to Masaka, which is about two times a week, it is closed.
The two times I have been there the options are limited, service slow and the location average for the town.

Had a buffet dinner here with our group of 15 outside in the garden. Food was good, garden a bit dark but ok. Here again oddly placed steps that are easily tripped over.

I have ate at Grassroots on multiple occasions, and I am always so fulfilled after a meal. I have had their falafel wrap, chocolate banana milkshake, and the pesto pasta. I was especially craving pesto pasta on my last visit to Masaka, and I was very happy with my choice to eat it at Grassroots. Their staff are very friendly - they will remember you and make you feel so welcomed. The food at grassroots is very healthy, and it is the perfect place to go if you are craving healthy Western inspired food.
