My husband and I spent an evening at this restaurant in August 2012. I can attest that this eight course meal (from appetizers through desserts) was the finest meal I've ever eaten. The seared foie gras, veal sweetbread, sauces, etc were each outstanding. The chef (Jean Michel) was very kind and visited with us after dinner. He told us about the history of the area , including the Battle of the Bulge right in the immediate area. I am not the most adventurous eater (my husband even less so), but I am so glad that I strayed out of my comfort zone of typical American fare to try these gourmet items. The wine, bread and desserts were also exceptional. The house-made madeleines were perfect with coffee at the end of the meal. Try the Touring Menu which changes monthly.

Located on 'Rue de Bastogne' unless it has been recommended or you know about it someone passing by would not go there.
The food is prepared very well, and the presentation is one of the best in the area. The fixed menu's are well thought out, and although there are many plates, the servings are not too big. This allows one to taste each well prepared plate.
A very good restaurant to go in couples or with close friends, during the summer there is a nice Terrace to start the meal, in the winter a nice cozy sitting room.

We went there seeing great reviews on trip advisor. The concept itself (you can cook your meat by yourself on a barbecue installed in a table) is interesting however we went for beef prepared by the cook. The portions were huge and the prices were OK. Unfortunately either the quality of meat or the cook's skills weren't perfect. The beef wasn't tender. The service was great!

Lounge Bar - Restaurant
My wife and I had dinner here based upon the reviews in Trip Advisor as well as the restaurant's Bib Gourmand status. We chose the three-course menu and a red wine from the Loire. My wife's first course was the veal carpaccio. The veal was of good quality but cut too thick for a carpaccio presentation. Wrapped around fresh fennel - a nice combination - it was difficult to cut and chew. My vegetable ravioli was presented with one large shrimp. There was just one ravioli which I consider to be rather meager. The shrimp had been boiled too long and was tough and had lost its flavor. My wife's main course was cod and that was very well prepared. I had the pork with mussels - you read that right - and it was also very good. A fine combination. By now we had been in the restaurant for over two hours so we elected to skip the desserts. The price, of course, remained the same. My suspicion is that the kitchen is under-staffed. But there were only seven tables when we left. A work in progress...

After Reading the many excellent reviews we decided to dine at Quartier Latin. The menu does indeed look very promising with a wide variety of interesting options. But please read on:
Starters:
- The Carpaccio (which incidentally was cut from a mass-produced roll of processed meat) had been frozen completely instead of only partially to enable it to be sliced thinly. The result was a tasteless, soggy dish. One of the main ingredients of Carpaccio, lemon juice that chemically 'cooks' the raw beef, had been omitted.
- The Crab Tourteau was supposed to have been served on a bed of avocado mousse. Apparently it's very hard to find ripe avo's in Belgium in July, because the avo we found underneath the crab was so hard that one could not even drive a fork into the little blocks that it had been cut into. The chef is probably aware that unripe avocado is very bitter, because to compensate for the bitterness he had added chopped fresh beans(?).
It's the combination of the creamy mousse with the crab that would make this dish a treat. A missed opportunity.
- The Mussels contained a closed specimen. That is a sure sign that the mussel has been dead for a while and it should have been discarded. Upon opening it we found our suspicions confirmed. Dead mussels are highly poisonous and it is a disgrace that one is served (to a child no less!) at what is supposed to be a four-star restaurant.
Main courses:
- Duck in orange sauce (an all-time winner which is also very easy to prepare): the sauce was very tasty. The duck... had been precooked and re-heated just prior to being served. The sure give-away is the rainbow-coloured sheen on the slices as well as the structure of the meat. The layer of fat on top of the duckbreast, which can be so yummy if served crunchy and well spiced, was sogggy and greasy.
- Filet Americain: a Belgian specialty. Unfortunately the chef chose to prepare this dish in a blender, with the predictable result: an undefinable sticky goo. On top of that a number of key ingredients had been omitted which left it bland and tasteless. Another missed chance.
In short: in our opinion the 'chef' is clueless and is better suited for a career at The Golden Arches. It's a rare talent that can turn such excellent ingredients into such poor dishes.
Our advice: give this restaurant a miss. Instead, find one of the many typical Belgian 'mom and pop' restaurants that serve really excellent food. At least until the proper chef returns whom we read about in so many of the other reviews.

Here is the good taste to all tables, it mixes with the charm, quality, and humor ... Which makes you to unforgettable!
This restaurant is located at the edge of the village Marche en Femme. My friend had Reservations for the night, but we arrived early. We just had a bottle of champagne for starters and that was the beginning of a tasty adenture. The wines were fantastic and the food just superb. The atmosphere was so cosy, while the place turned out to be a busy one. Staff stayed on point and friendly. If you ever are in the Ardennes near Marche en Femme (also know as middle of nowhere), go and have dinner here. You won't be dissapointed!!

If you are in Marche-en-Famenne and looking for a good restaurant this is definitely the place to be.
The food is Italian, but expect more then your every day pasta. They had some Interesting combinations on offer, and the meals are obviously made with great care. Staff is also friendly, our waiter was willing to take his time for us and explain the full menu in English.
One tip: in the weekends it seems to be wise to reserve up front.

I hesitated before entering this restaurant. It looked empty and cold. But my daughter insisted she wanted Chinese food. We only had a dish each and honestly it was alright. Nothing special or fancy but it tasted good, was plentiful and a good value for the price.

Seems to be a popular place for locals as was busy both with couples and families. I sugest you book a table towards the front of the building otherwise you will be near the family tables which are very noisy. Service was freindly and the food fabulous. We shared a pasta starter with a nice raggu with meat and italian suasages which was Huge!. We also had pizza and they have a lot of different ones to choose from. In the end we have to take some of it away as we could not finish it. (due to the starter) The table wine is pallatable as well. All in all for around 60 € for two you should have a memorable experience. If we are ever in the region again we will certainly go back.
