mixed emotions here. I feel like the cakes are box cakes and not truly homemade... as with the cookies and other pastries.. Doughnuts stale... not soft and yummy like a krispy kreme.. They have to bring these in... I just think when you are a Bakery you should make everything from scratch... and its obvious this in NOT a made from scratch bakery.

First time at 61 Main in about four years and disappointed to discover that the only evening meal is the Monday Night Supper which is a two-course (entree and dessert) prix fixe menu. Same excellent quality but thought portion sizes somewhat small. Very quick service but almost to the point feeling rushed. For example, I finished my entree before my wife and my plate was removed and both desserts delivered. Still a great choice and wished it was open for dinner nightly.

Great little sandwich shop. Our party had Ruben, BLT, ham and chedder, chicken salad, steak sandwich. Everyone loved their meal. Portions are large after we all sampled the cream cheese bars, coconut and strawberry cakes, brownie and chocolate chip cookie all were delicious.

I would not normally write a review about an ice cream shop, but this was such a nice place, and their ice cream was really very creamy and good! It's located right across the street from the north entrance to Big Canoe in the small strip mall that includes Fuego's Mexican restaurant.
Here is a link to a write up of this ice cream shop from the Big Canoe "Smoke Signals" online newsletter:

The view on the back deck is relaxing and beautiful. A full bar is available but the food is average and not inexpensive. The fish & chips were ok, but cole slaw was an extra $2.50. The next closest restaurant is 8 miles away.

While driving through north Georgia we decided to stop for lunch. We check TripAdvisor and found this restaurant listed. The reviews were good so we decided to try it. The decor was interesting. The restaurant was clean and the staff friendly.
Service was excellent and we could not have been happier. We would recommend this restaurant to anyone nearby. You will not be disappointed.

Been to this little jewel tucked away in Ball Ground, GA twice. Delighted both times. had crawfish etoufee the first time. A little thin on the rue, could be thicker, but good nonetheless. Had fried shrimp the second time. Outstanding and almost more than I could eat.

Very prompt service, very good and quick fast food. Best strawberry shakes, bar none. Grilled sandwiches very tasty. Have no idea when it will be rebuilt

From the outstanding pate to local farm fresh strawberries and cream, SOURWOOD always delivers a cut above. We now eat here at least weekly--and have never been disappointed. Try the onion soup, mussels, chicken, any fish--all are elegantly presented, perfectly seasoned options.
How lucky are we to have five star restaurant right here in Big Canoe! Yum!
