Nice semi al fresco dining on the coastal sea. The seafood is fresh and the environment quite welcoming. The band in the background provides entertainment whilst you crack away at your chilli crab.
I thought the sauces were underwhelming and made the seafood dishes a little bland. Could do with improvement in this area.

Deliciously Manado.. Serving the Best Satay, Asian & Local dish, Kampoeng chicken, Seafood, Steaks, Vegetarian dishes, and Many more with Passion and Smiles in a Casual & Relaxed atmosphere, yet Prices so Affordable you'd have to try us, and you'll surely be Satisfied. Welcome. We are conveniently located at Jalan Piere Tendean Boulevard nearby MTC mall, in front of Megamas Complex.
Ate dinner here a few days ago. The prices are pretty reasonable and nice to have an aircon/non-smoking section. The sate ayam was delicious, tender, but slightly pink while the sate kambing was quite chewy which was disappointing (especially considering it was twice the price of the chicken). In any case, the taste was good, service reasonable and clean, centrally located restaurant.

My husband had some BBQ fish and I had a vegetarian nasi campur - I didn't think the food could all be that good with such a wide selection, but it was. We watched the fish being cooked on the BBQ too and you can choose which seafood you'll eat. The staff were very friendly too and there was cold beer.

We tried as restaurant came highly recommended. Of course they have live fresh seafood and variety was good. Sadly the chefs cannot do justice to what was available. We ordered large prawns which were overcooked. We chose grouper fish in spicy curry thinking it’s Indonesia and let’s go “local”. Fish was fresh but again the broth was bland and doesn’t do justice to such a good fish ! We selected the mantis shrimps and were looking forward this delicacy with garlic. Again it’s badly cooked, not understanding the nature of such shrimps. Sadly I feel the cooks treated and prepared these fresh seafood as they do with ordinary frozen seafood ! The tempura calamari batter was so thick we gave up. So were the shrimp balls - too salty and full of flour ! Wise we didn’t order the lobster as we wanted to see how they prepare the ones we selected before we fork out big money for the lobster. Final bill was much more than what we paid for a good restaurant and not one dish was good.

Very nice little cafe near several starred hotels on the Sudirman St. corridor. Clean, AC, and inexpensive. Mostly Chinese, but some Thai and Singaporean foods, too.
We were tired and wanted somewhere close to the Aston Hotel. This restaurant was perfect as it was clean, spacious, air-conditioned, popular but quiet. The menu was also in English and it included beer but there was none on the night we were there, only Guinness. There were some vegetarian dishes available but tofu does not mean meat-free so check first. Two dishes and tea cost us less than $6.
My title is because the maps on TripAdvisor and Google maps are both wrong as to Café Noodle House’s location. From the Aston turn left and stay on that side of the street. Be careful of the terrible footpaths. After you pass the Gran Central Hotel you will see signage for the restaurant. Enter the supermarket and take the stairs on the left to the first floor. It is only a short walk from the Aston in Jalan Jend. Sudirman.

this is a big and famous restaurant in Manado. they serve local and Chinese food with reasonable price, and they also serve beers. people use to come here with their extended family, celebrating birthday, anniversary or any celebration. there was also a live band who can be requested to play and sing any song you like.
I brought 10 members of my extended family and I must say they prepared and served the food pretty quick and the taste was also good. One thing that needs to be improved is smoking area. they need to have a dedicated room/area for smokers. Since this is considered a family restaurant, there will always be children and babies and also pregnant women eating in this restaurant.

On you way into Manado OR on your way out… you must eat at "Pondok Hijau Restorant" literally meaning Cottage Green Restaurant! Known for its Fried Goldfish…. fresh from the man made pond which was made specially to breed the fish for the restaurant! Ambience is superb, grilled fish with Rica , fried fish & Perkedel Nike-freshwater anchovy fritters with fresh sweet orange juice. We finished off the meal with Onde-Onde -steamed rice dough balls with melt in the mouth palm sugar centres & coated with fresh grated coconut! It was an amazing experience. Having spoken about the food we had now about the place- The individual thatched cottage Seating is an interesting experience. The cottages seem to float over the pond & one can look down into the water to see goldfish swimming by. There are washbasins stationed at almost every juncture of bamboo walkways leading to the cottage & when you wash your hands the water goes into the pond. Our host explained all the dishes as they came & finally-she said the left over bones, rice etc are thrown over the side of each cottage to feed the fish in the pond! No wastage, no garbage to worry about! They serve you on locally made paper plates( look like they are made out of leaves?) which is also recyclable! Save the environment seems to be their logo & practice!!! We were floored by the entire experience… THIS IS A MUST DO!

It's just a pity that this restaurant is so out of the way, because the food is great and well prepared. We ordered grilled oci fish, which came with spicy green tomato salad, the papaya flower salad and the kang kung. The restaurant is casual and affordable. The staff spoke English and were friendly.

the most famous traditional "nasi kuning" (yellow rice) in manado. i'm impressed with the packaging that made leaves that bring nice smell for the dish. while some "nasi kuning" only have cakalang fufu for the topping, seroja have some beef and egg for compliment.
