Things to do in Mahone Bay

I have been going to Bayside Pizza since they opened in Mahone Bay.
Their longer opening hours are much appreciated in a town where food service options tend to close early. The service is always friendly and efficient especially when owner Abdul is working.
When your order is correctly done, it can be very good. There is a tendency to undercook items by certain employees. I have had raw fish with uncooked batter inside,
half done burgers, and mushy fries. You must specify well cooked!!!
By contrast, there has never been a problem with the pizzas with a great choice of toppings and crusts, and the donairs are very good and a very generous serving for the price.

This was much better than your typical pub fare, had a view out to the harbor, friendly staff, and a great selection of Craft beer. We ate crab cakes with salad and seafood chowder. Both were better than good. Especially the chowder--not gummy--made without flour, but flavorful and rich. Reasonablly priced

We are a family owned business who's goal it is to provide good quality meals and support other local businesses in our community as much as we can. Our meats are now made by a local producer, Chris Webber from Webberfoods. Gluten free, sugar free, no fillers. It just makes sense.
We stopped by because the smell coming from the restaurant was delightful. One of us had a veggie wrap, one had a burger and the other had fish and chips. All the meals were delicious! People were coming in for lunch and snagging a piece of pizza and a drink so I'm assuming the pizza was great too. Great little spot in town to eat inside or out and the food will amaze your taste buds.

The Biscuit Eater is a friendly community cafe and bookstore serving homemade, handmade goodness in Mahone Bay's oldest building. Fresh baked buttermilk biscuits, locally roasted coffee, stacks of cookies and baked treats, delicious soups, sandwiches and daily specials are all made with care daily by new owners Jessika and Chris and our talented chef Laurie Zwicker. Take a seat by the hearth in a cozy chair, have lunch in the library, grab a snack to go, or visit with old and new friends in the common room - here the warmth of community is alive, well, and waiting to welcome you. We are accessible, family friendly, inclusive and open to all our neighbours from our oldest customer (98!) to biscuit babies. Our new winter hours are Monday - Saturday from 9-4, keep your eye on our Facebook page for evening events, markets, and workshops. We are also available to host your special events, weddings, and creative retreats, contact us with your ideas and collaborations!

Stopped here with my friend for a tea and an iced coffee (that was so good it turned into two); one issue, we had two little dogs with us. The staff were great, brought a little bowl of water out for the pooches.

New Owner Was Cheesecake Gallery
Starters: Mexican crepes were excellent and great flavour and kale salad (it's sweet, large).
Entrees: Pasta of the day which was with seafood, large portion, very tasty. Seafood chowder is a huge portion and very good. Should not have had a starter - I ate about half of it.
Service was very good. This is a great restaurant - casual set up. I would return if I was back in Mahone Bay.

Since 1986 we have delighted in providing delicious gourmet food to both residents and visitors to Mahone Bay. What started as a simple fruit stand has grown into a market, gourmet deli, bake shop, cafe, jammery and ice cream parlor.
This is almost everything you need in one stop along with friendly, helpful staff in a charming shop with mouthwatering displays. Coffee, baked goods, fresh vegetables, deli with a good selection of sandwiches, salads, prepared foods and soup. Cooler full of cold drinks, draft beer. You place orders at the counter, pay and take it out to their covered patio or take out. There is also a freezer full of pies, Lasgna and chicken pot pie to take home to bake or just baked warm pies.

At rebecca's you will experience a celebration of traditional as well as modern cooking styles. You won't be disappointed!
My wife and I, out for the day, stopped into Rebecca's around 3 in the afternoon. I had the fish chowder and the beef burger, both excellent. My wife had the soup of the day and the special, lobster eggs Benedict. Everything was awesome. The quality of the ingredients in each dish was fresh and tasty.

LaHave Bakery happens to be on multiple lists and in several articles on where to go in Mahone Bay and all of Nova Scotia, so it's certainly worth a stop whether for a snack or lunch or even frozen dinners to take home. It smells heavenly, as any good bakery should, and its small size means everything is right in front of you. The location is right in the center of town, so there's really no excuse to miss it.

Stopped by for a chai latte based on recommendations. Unfortunately the mix made by owners had run out and they will be back tomorrow. The shop is full of interesting teas in gallon size jars arrayed around the shop and we'll check them out tomorrow. So sorry you missed our Chai Latte. We totally ran out after the big Scarecrow Festival. Unfortunately we were unable to make more until late yesterday. We have it now.
