We'd booked dinner at Nest 2 on our first evening, and stopped there for lunch to "sample it." Our choices were vegetarian, though we're not vegetarians. Papaya salad with crispy tofu, vegetarian spring rolls and tempura morning glory. My companion and I are keen cooks - this was a gastronomic delight! We couldn't wait for dinner, and decided with such a varied menu, we would eat lunch and dinner at Nest 2 throughout or stay. We just didn't want to miss an opportunity to dine here. Every single dish was a feast. A couple of times we chose to "up" the spice level. Phew, fantastic!
Nest 2's chef, Oh, chatted with all the diners. Her passion for food, and pleasure at seeing happy diners, was evident. Nest 2 serves the best Thai food I have ever eaten, without doubt. I plan to return in (very) low season in the hope of learning more about Oh's cooking and having the pleasure of eating it again.
I reviewed the Nest as a whole (under "accommodation"), and this review is contained therein. On seeing that I could also review the restaurant individually, I had to take the opportunity. Whilst I've ticked "cheap eats," the standard of the food is definitely first rate. Were this restaurant in the UK, people would be queuing to eat here, and booking months in advance.
If you're a "foodie" visiting Chiang Dao, this is an unmissable experience.

Haven lived in Mae Rim for 15 years, Baan Suan Mae Rim is the best Thai restaurant around the neighbourhood. Ingredients and herbs are ultra fresh. I particularly like the stuffed squid soup with glass noodle, which is their speciality. You have to ask for it as it is not on the menu. Vegetable tempura is also delicious. We like the table by the water. Nothing fancy, but down to earth.

We usually buy multi-grain bread from this cafe. Last night we went for dinner. Atmosphere is better day time than evening. We arrived at 7pm. It is already late in Thailand and we were the only one in the restaurant. We have ordered grilled veggie, cabbage with fish sauce and mushroom with basils. All fresh and tasty. Desert was so-so. We ordered chocolate cake with vanilla ice cream. If you are in Mae Rim area, it is a good choice instead of going to Mae Rim plaza all the time!

A lovely place with warm lovely people. Chez Nous' Cappucino is the best ever! Padthai is great.
A very pleasant surprise is the wide Belgian Beer collection, served in the proper cold glasses…so refreshing on a Friday afternoon. What a way to start the weekend!
If passing by in the morning make sure to try the home made granola breakfast.
Thank Oui, Imm, Roselle for your great smiles and make everyone feel at home.

We went on a recommendation of our hotel owner and we're not disappointed. There is a small menu which looks like it changes regularly or a menu of various steaks/ meat/ fish with mash or fries.
The chicken with French fries was delicious and it came with a light mushroom sauce. The house white by the glass satisfied my need for wine in Asia and was also lovely. I managed a desert of coconut ice cream and fruit coulis which was also very tasty.
It isn't the cheapest- about 1400bht for 2adults and 2kids but we all had drinks and Deserts. Very tasty and would fully recommend.

Lovely and quiet restaurant with friendly owner and fantastic food. Had sun dried beef, yellow curry with beef, spicy glass noodles, fried morning glory and mixed vegetables. All cooked expertly with loving care. Surprisingly busy as well considering the location. Highly recommended.

Stopped in on the recommendation of our guide who likes to take people to good places off of the beaten path. Very extensive menu, and everything cooked fresh. All the dishes we tried were excellent. The desert, Rotee was to die for. We even took some to go for later.

Originated from a coffee roaster house that has been drinking and searching for exquisite coffee around the world, the Orange Box Coffee is a new chapter of a coffee lover family that wants to deliver the best coffee experience to its customer. The travelers who are visiting "Pai"and other destinations along the route 1095 are recommended to stop by for refreshment with our coffee.
This is a great place to stop and relax on your trip to and from Pai. They have two black cats and a really nice dining area on stilts. A lot of character for a small place like this.
