We wandered around Lysekil for a half hour or so before settling on Pramen for dinner. Actually floating on the water, Pramen was a very good choice. We were seated at the window, looking over the harbor. Service was very good and attentive. I had an excellent bowl of fish soup followed by a seafood plate which was excellent. Lots of beer and we were full before dessert.

Over the last week I've covered some of the hot eating
spots in Bohuslan in low season mode - a very dissapointing experience. They try to keep up appearences (and prices), and don't blush while serving frozen seafood and prefabricated ingredients at high season prices.
When I got to Lysekil I had given up and just picked a spot to get fed. The locale didn't promise much, but the plates being carried around, and the concentrated faces receiving them, did.
I had cod on a bed of root vegetables - a kind of juliennes - and a butter sauce with a hint of balsamico. Plain and straightforward, but brilliantly done.
I'll be back.

Luna Cafe Tapas Restaurant & Wine yard A place to visit that is different from any restaurant on the west coast. Delicious Spanish food in a perfect combination of great wines. Try our Friday BBQ or stroll in our wine yard. don't forget to ask our sommelier and wine producer Javier, about our biodynamic wine production and why we decide to bring our part of Spain to a roundabout in Lysekil. It's a marvellous story... Welcome!
Ask the chef for the more refined selections and you'll be amazed with dishes far beyond well renowned international 5 starred establishments.

We ate a fantastic lunch, the kids took burgers, they liked it a lot, my wife took a soup with fish and shellfish, it tasted fantastic. I took the "smörrebröd" with different "Swedish" starters like pickled herring and "Gubbröra". Really nice and tasty. Good service in nice atmosphere.

I spent one week in this city called Lysekil.
Good and very fresh seafood available at restaurants and by the seafood market called "Bengts fisk". There are much to do for the family like visiting the Aquarium "Havets hus", rent a tenniscourt, just stroll and enjoy the great view and nature, play Minigolf, swimming by the beach, diving (scubadiving rental is avalible), and much more. Should best be visited in July at the Lysekil-festival with live music and other happenings. Worth the visit.

I visited Lysekil when the town was mostly shut up for the winter. The Old House Inn provided a good pub atmosphere and adequate pub style food in comfortable surroundings. There was football on the TV later on and many locals came to watch it. The place is closed on a Monday - in keping with the rest of the town during the dark months.

Absolutely fabulous Thai food, cooked to order by Thais. The food is fantastic, as witnessed by each of the 7 people who were with me. The restaurant does not have a license for alcohol, but a good selection of soft drinks are available. Inside the decor is basic ...... But wonderful food. Many people got take-always whilst we were there. Menus available in English as well as Swedish .... And Thai. There is also Sushi on the menu.

We went to this restaurant after arriving with our sailboat to this lovely Barbour and had lunch there. We got a nice place with magnificent view on the upper Terrace and chose the fish of the day, which was ling fillet, prepared very tasty and with a twist. For just around 140 sek a real bargain. We really enjoyed the lunch there. This obviously is a restaurant with a very fine cuisine. Would not have guessed to find such place in the laid back harbour of Grundsund . Forget Smögen... sail to Grundsund instead

Manky establishment with even worse seafood... We had a table with a great view of the sea, the drinks were nice and cold, and the service nice and friendly. We inquired about the shrimp which turned out not to be fresh, why we choose mussels and gambas. The gambas had clearly been frozen, not much flavor in the oil and the aioli comes from a cheap jar. The mussels were surprisingly tasteless until half way down you got to the bad ones. And I mean, open but bad. How long has that batch been in their fridge? Inedible! Leaving now, still hungry and with an uneasy feeling that we might get sick...
