Here is an urbanspoon.com reference to this restaurant: http://www.urbanspoon.com/r/57/1597680/restaurant/New-Orleans/St-Rose/Port-Side-Restaurant-Bar-St-Rose
We eat here frequently for lunch. The portions are very large and the service is excellent.
The lunch specials are hard to beat, especially Fridays catfish with crawfish sauce or shrimp creole.
When fresh seafood is in season, you can smell the crawfish and shrimp boiling as you approach the location.
It's one of the few locations you will see on the river side of river road.

I love it here. I will write a review every time I go to this location. I love the food. They were busy and no one missed a beat.

The boiled seafood is great. Not to spicy or salty. Try the crab cakes. They also have good daiquiris

This is a very comfortable neighborhood cafe with a good cheerful staff and some pretty good food. It is located only a few hundred feet off of Hwy 90 on Wade Street...which is three streets past the Sonic if you are travelling east, so slow down so you don't miss the turn like I did my first time. LOL. Or if you're travelling west, turn just past the Perque flooring store.
My wife and I went there last week and we thoroughly enjoyed our simple breakfast sandwiches served on bagel and croissant.. We enjoyed our smooth "regular" coffee but they also have lots of fancy fru-fru coffees as well as scones, muffins, bagels, croissants, and other pastries. For what they lack in variety on the menu, they more than make up for in comfortable seating, nice decor, and pleasant service.
The bottom line is that for our first time there I rate the menu a 2, the food a 3, and the comfort and hospitality a 4, but knowing what to expect always makes it a little better. We'll be back. Try them out.

This restaurant has moved to Paradis as the other one in Boutte burned. The parking lot is small and hard to maneuver. The restaurant is always busy, minimal waiting time. The boiled seafood is seasoned just right and the platter has several types of seafood to sample. The fried seafood platter is amazing, the soft shell crabs were the bomb !!!!!

The only problem is they are at the flea market in New Orleans most of the time. The business is rarely open on river road, so call first with your order. Very nice people.

While the doughnuts are good in this tiny donut shop, what they're most loved for is their king cakes. A South Louisiana tradition, King cakes are served for a very limited time beginning on Twelfth Night (January 6) to celebrate the kings arriving to see the baby Jesus. In each cake is a tiny plastic baby doll - whoever gets it in their piece is responsible for buying the King cake for the next get-together. Made of doughnut dough braided together into an oval, it's covered with sweet icing and granulated sugar in the colors of Mardi Gras: purple, green, and gold. Some cakes are also stuffed with choices like sweet cream cheese, fruit fillings, Bavarian cream, or combinations. An awesome Louisiana tradition, for a very limited season - get yours at Take-Away and you won't be disappointed.

Classic American, 50's style Diner. 6 locations, 4 are 24 hours. Burgers for Breakfast or Pancakes and Bacon for Dinner....no problem!!! "I'm not your Mama but you're always at home at Dots Diner." Free WiFi. This location open 24 hours.

The people there are very friendly and make...MoreMarie, we are so touched by this review and will share with the Luling staff. This is our go-to place for sushi rolls. We've always found the food and service to be fine. There's a wide selection of sushi, shashimi, rolls as well as other menu items (teriyaki, tempura, etc.).
Sometimes the sushi rolls aren't wrapped that well and end up falling apart on the plate. It creates a mess, but nothing detrimental to the experience.
Prices are reasonable for this style restaurant.
Like I mentioned earlier, we've been here several times and don't see why we won't continue patronizing them.

Having lived here all my life before moving away in 2005, I never stopped in to try out this restaurant. On a recent visit back home from Arizona, my sister recommended getting a burger from here. What a burger it was! My 12 year-old son kept bugging us to go back for more!!! It was the best burger he'd ever had. I agree that it was one of the best I've ever had. For a small little restaurant, it does big business and understandably so. The guys working there are very personable and friendly. In addition, we called ahead to order a couple of burgers to take with us as we headed to the airport.and they had them ready on time for us. Great food and great service --sure wish they had a restaurant here in Arizona!
