I have been there twice and both times were blah. The place is so dark and dated...our table was probably decades old and worn out in spots...desperately needed a new table. And did i say dark? and dingy. The food was ok...just ok. Greek salad's tomatoes did not seem fresh as kind of squishy. I paid $19 for a meal...and it should be a heck of a lot better than it was for that price.

My wife and I went for supper and had an excellent meal. Our waitress was very friendly and funny and very refreshing compared to the wait staff you often get at other places that are almost on auto pilot! She recommended a curry egg roll starter which was really good.
We had ginger beef, Singapore vermicelli, and dumplings (the dumplings were well worth the extra wait) and everything came out quick and cooked perfectly! You can tell the owner/chef is proud of what he does and it shows in the quality of the food - excellent job!
Thanks for the meal - we will be back!

Il Mercato - a truly authentico Italiano trattoria. Experience the very best of Italian food, wine and service. Our handmade dishes are made with passione, using the finest, freshest ingredients from Italian and local producers. Everything - from the music, the scenes, the focaccia to the gelato, even the pottery and lighting - are tutto Italiano!
Thank goodness I made a reservation for Saturday night. The place was packed and a line up down the stairs. And it was only 6 pm! I was craving pasta puttanesca but it wasn't on the menu. When I mentioned this to the waitress she checked with the cook and was pleased to tell me he would make it for me. Wow!! Fantastic service as well as food!! My friend and I thoroughly enjoyed our meal. For an appetizer we split the stuzzichini which was risotto croquette, salami rolled with fresh mozzarella, flash-fried artichoke, mushroom bruschetta, tomato bruschetta, and prosciutto-wrapped grissini. Almost a meal in itself and plenty for two people. For our main dishes I had Penne Puttanesca and my friend had Penne Salsiccia. Both were $17 each. If you like wine that's where your wallet will take a hit. My friend had an 8 oz glass of Pinot Grigio and the price was $19. If you think you'll want more than one glass be sure to order a 1/2 L. Wonderful dining experience although very chilly sitting by the stairs. Bring a sweater if it is a cold evening. You won't want to let a little chill stop you from enjoying amazing Italian food.

This is one of my fav locals. Always busy and food is good. Staff are great. I find though that they have taken some of my fav items off the menu. Smoked meat Sandwich was fantastic. No longer serve it. Please bring smoked meat back. And maybe put a steak on the menu.

Resto Urban Dining has a comfortable atmosphere with fireplaces and excellent service. The food and service will keep everyone coming back for their favorites! Resto is a neighbourhood restaurant where staff will come to know their guests. With an excellent and fairly priced menu and wine list, Resto is sure to become a local favorite
We found this place through a Groupon a few years back, and we keep returning whenever we’re in the Halifax area. The food is wonderfully tasty and satisfying. The staff is friendly and professional, and I love the decor. My only nit to pick is the choice of music. They seem to be playing top 40 bubblegum pop every time I’m there, which - at least to me - doesn’t fit the vibe at all.
Overall, I highly recommend Resto Urban.

41 years later, still the best subs in town. I've been enjoying Kaiser's delicious subs since 1976 and as I told the owner, who took care of my order this morning, the quality of the food is still as great as ever. Tasty, fresh ingredients and fast, efficient service make Kaiser's a great choice.

I'm glad I ate here! The food is really good and the portion sizes you get for all-you-can-eat sushi are good (meaning the sashimi/nigiri aren't the same thickness as shaved ham like in some restaurants). It was delicious and as an added bonus the presentation was lovely. I think $25 is a very fair price for what you get here. The atmosphere is clean, comfortable and modern and the service from all staff is friendly, polite and attentive. You can also order from the menu if you don't want all you can eat. I forgot to take photos but I highly recommend checking this place out!

So this is absolutely the epitome of the old school diner... no franchise.
The proper breakfast, and a common breakfast meeting place for business.
Dinner specials, classics like liver and onions, fish and chips and always clean even though there is a deep fryer going non stop.
Dinner is the same as lunch, classic diner food with locals cooking, serving and cleaning the dishes...
