The burger was great and we especially enjoyed the lovely paprika-mayo. The biggest let down with the portion was the onion rings and fries which came from a freezer. The bun was also clearly bought in from somewhere else. Is it really that hard to cut your own chips and onions, make a little batter and bake some bread? The burger was memorable but with improvements it would be legendary! Also when you pay 17,90€ for a burger you'd expect someone to do a bit more than just opening a freezer bag and chugging stuff in the fryer. I also have to deduct a few points on the atmosphere, the music played didn't really fit in with the bistro vibe on the outdoor Terrace. The Terrace was also full of signs cluttering up the place and ruining the atmosphere. I mean who wants to look at signs typed in MS Office saying stuff like "Service at the bar" at every table? The food was nice enough and the service was friendly, will visit again the next time I'm in Loviisa.

Really nice and good quality dining. not fine dining but yet respectable. Building has its own personality which picks up the standard nicely

If you like fish food and historical surroundings by the sea, then this is the place. They were serving a "saaristolaispöytä" which is basically baked potatoes and a large variety of cold fish dishes. Together with a pint of Malmgård Blonde Ale the meal was excellent! Although it was close to perfection, there's always something to improve: replace the Aura tap beer (originally from the west coast) with a product of a local brewery - and do not play music from the Mediterranean area :) Another plus: plenty of free parking places nearby!

The building with a yard is an attraction itself, enjoy coffee or tea with Finnish specialities (sweet or salty pies, sandwiches).

Friday afternoon - the place was full of teen ages. The stuff serves food and lollipops. Pizza was tasty. Minus: I was just hoping to have tapasco and oregano to add to the pizza, but those were not on the table.

The Cafe is located in Svartholm Fortress just outside of Loviisa on Svarthom island, so you need a boat ride to get there.
The menu is compact, consisting several varieties of food types, like pizzas (3 different), couple of salads, few chicken and fish dishes. Those what we tasted, are excellent. The pizza reminded me a bit "flammkuchen", but toppings were extra ordinary. For example salami-relish-mayo was mind blowing perfectly balanced.
Quite often there are bands playing on Friday and/or Saturday evenings.
Place is closed on winter season (according my knowledge - check)

Nice location in the older parts of Loviisa. This is a bit more pricey than the other restaurants nearby. The folks working there are friendly. Language skills do vary between them.
Good selection of beer, ciders are there but nothing really interesting. Prices are a bit high considering they do not serve the beers in their correct glasses or even at the correct temperature.
The food is good but the price and what they serve is not on the same level. A bit over prized in my opinion.

The restaurant is right next to the church and very close to the Bonga mansion, both worth a visit.
Lunch buffet had already ended when we entered. I chose overripe pork cheeks with röstiperunat (~hash browns) and port wine gravy. By chance I've had various tender pieces of pork many times this year, and this ended in the bottom category. Lots of fat, and not particularly tasty, either. Eatable, but not memorable.
I often complain about slow service, and the meal took its time here, too. However, the waiter was super fast; she cleaned the tables, cleared away the lunch buffet, and took care of the bar in the other room all by herself. In fact, this was not a bonus; her fast and loud steps created a somewhat nervous atmosphere.

This place is absolutely lovely, we visited there twice over the weekend. The menu was good and the food was absolutely delicious. Remember to try their cakes as well! What is best about the place, is the ambiance and the setting. Everything is though to the last detail. The hostess/owner was warmly welcoming and made us feel like home during our second visit. I can highly recommend to go there for lunch/dinner or just coffee/cakes.
