This is not the easiest restaurant to find - up a lane off a freeway interchange but well worth the effort. The building is an old railway station with massive timber roof and large patio. The staff are friendly and the menu endless. The views alone over the Aconcagua valley are worth the visit.

In a city with limited options for eating out at night this is an oasis in a desert.
We were staying at another hotel in town with limited dining options and actually had this restaurant recommended by our hotel.
It is centrally located and within walking distance of most accommodation; the hotel does also have off street parking that can be used for the restaurant.
The restaurant has a very varied menu quite reasonably priced. We ate here 3 times and on each occasion the total bill was no more than CLP11,500, or about US$20, for 2 people.
The meals were a good size, and service attentive.
We chose tosit outside next to the pool where it was a little cooler and also relaxing.

We searched the whole downtown core for a place to eat a serious dinner but only found cafes and ice cream parlours. Finally, a couple of blocks from the main square we came across this place which looked pleasant and had a full menu.
We both had steaks, my partner enjoyed his with a salad that had half of a creamy avocado in it and peeled, delicious tomatoes. I had an entrecote a la pobre, with fried eggs and fries. Both steaks were tasty though mine was a tad overdone. The fries were crisp and hot.
For dessert we went over to the ice cream counter and I asked for a scoop of a flavour I'd never heard of. Instead of one scoop in a cone, the server scooped up three generous balls into a plastic bowl and plunked a sugar cone on top (upside down). More than enough for two for less than two dollars so we both enjoyed a generous dessert of ice cream.
The service was pretty decent, don't expect anyone to speak English.

Firstly the Trip Advisor interactive map erroneously has this restaurant situated just south of the corner of Chacabuco and Santa Terese. It is in fact located 5 blocks northeast at the corner of Santa Teresa and Manuel Rodriguez. This is a well known steak house recommended by travellers and tour guides alike. The food is good typical fare. The interior of the restaurant is basic and sort of what you might expect to find in a small provincial town of the region.

Huge buffett with everything you could wish for. Pretty nice view as seen on the photos other reviewers uploaded. I was a bit upset by the temperature, since somehow it was way too hot, even though they have air conditioning. Nice staff as well.
I especially urge you to try out the noodles done in an open kitchen.

Situated at approx. one hour's drive northeast of Santiago, about 5 miles outside the city of Los Andes.
Family orientated, especially on weekends, with inside and outside Seating (children's playground near outside Seating area). Frequented by approx 90% Chileans and rest foreigners, mostly accompanying chilean families (like us).
Food is basic, but tasty and plentiful. We had a parillada (bbq) on the table loaded with beef, pork, chicken and sausages and an excellent big dish with a variety of salads.
Chicken and sausages were excellent, beef and pork slight overcooked in my opinion, but still very tasty.
Desert menu is very limited however verbal choices mostly covering various types of ice creams were offered by the waiter.
Friendly service, nice and colourful atmosphere with local musicians during the weekend luncheons. We had a very good time at this restaurant.
One word of caution: La Ruca, in principle, only accepts cash, checks or bank transfers, however after some insistence on our part, we were able to use a credit card.
Would go back any time.

Santerra is a typical hotel restaurant with a huge assortment of food in a buffet style. It is all very good and well prepared. The steak are great and the Gnocchi I think is excellent.
If you ask me the newly opened Santerra Steakhouse is the way to go. Yes it is more expensive but it is sit down with waiters etc. Paulina the head person there did great helping us choose and their special selection of prime choice steaks were out of this world. Great food and great wine.

Olibar Bar Restaurant Where natural, seasonal and environment have a starring role. The commitment with Chilean origins combined with a commitment to modernity, through the dining and especially the kitchen. Olibar and tradition are retried, evolving every day to serve the people. Olibar committed enjoy cooking so Overall: a meal with your desktop, unhurried, Pleasure and memory can not be rushed...
At lunch time there is a menu that's cheap and very good, if you like to try something else there are a few options, personally I recommend Pastel de Jaiva.
The prices are quite good, because the food is delicious.
Inside there are friendly staff and the restaurant is nice inside.
