I had the enchilada and it was like every other enchilada I’ve had.
Pros: friendly wait staff, price, location, ambiance, menu selections
Cons: barely average enchilada
Although the staff are friendly and welcoming, and the restaurant was open and clean, the enchilada was just so-so. The restaurant has a large variety to choose from so maybe their other dishes are better.

It is often difficult to decide whether to support a huge conglomerate or take a chance on a local proprietor. I wish I could say I am strong enough to risk disappointment with my morning cup of coffee, but given that the day can go so many different ways and the start is often the most important part, i have to admit I'm relieved when I'm visiting a small town and there is a Starbucks. I'll save my culinary bravado for a local burger joint, or local ethnic foods, but I really don't want to go into a coffee place and get weak coffee and powdered "creamer."
At THIS Starbucks, I ordered two cups of "coffee of the day" and asked for Venti sized coffees in Grande sized cups, and made sure they knew that my wife and I like a lot of cream, and that's exactly what they did. They left plenty of room for cream, and the barista that was helping me even encouraged the other employee to go check to make sure the half-n-half was full before I headed that way to use it.
I felt like they cared about my coffee being "just right" as opposed to so many places that make it one way and feel like artificial whitener, even in those little single-serving cups, is an adequate substitute for cold half-n-half. Honestly, after all this time, if you're still making truck-stop coffee and offering me chemicals instead of dairy products and hoping I'll be happy with it, you haven't been paying attention to the changes of the last 20 years. Starbucks has, and you can say what you want about the hugeness of their corporation, but I still feel like my best chance of getting a great cup of coffee is at Starbucks, and I was not disappointed at the Los Alamos NM Starbucks.

We were here visiting Bandelier right before Thanksgiving, and were very happy Daniel's was open. We got sandwiches, which were delicious. I got the pastrami, which I definitely recommend. We also got gelato, a fantastic end to the meal. The service was fantastic-they suggested things to do and places to get great views. Really appreciated it!

This used to be just a donut shop. The donuts are excellent, but the served food is nothing special. Recently, a local baker is making additional items such as cookies and muffins. I suggest that the baker take an apprenticeship with Pig and Fig, so that he/she can learn how baked items should taste and look appetizing.

Looking for a good breakfast burrito in Los Alamos, we were referred to Viola’s Place, a true local Northern New Mexico mom and pop restaurant, clearly popular with the locals. The breakfast burrito, smothered, with green Chile was very good. Coffee not so good (weak). But the huevos rancheros, with red Chile and sunny-side- up eggs, were spectacular, maybe the best we’ve had. The red Chile, prepared from scratch at Viola’s, had my wife bubbling with appreciation.

What is not to love? It is hot out in the desert. Haagen-Dazs is great ice cream. This store is located right in Los Alamos close to the Bradbury Science Museum.

This was in walking distance of our first stop therefore we took the suggestion from the park service. When we finally deciphered the menu board, ordered and waited for lunch. I ordered a bagel Turkey club which was filling but the side salad was unimpressive and lacked flavor. She did a salad which she enjoyed but left her wanting more. Staff was occupied with chatting and unhelpful.
I’d pass on this place for something off the path.

Four of us had a fabulous "Restaurant Week Dinner" at the Pyramid even though they weren't participating in Restaurant Week! Puzzled? Here's the explanation. The Restaurant Week website advertised the Pyramid as having a $15 dinner. This is an outrageously low price for their 3-course dinner that could include the lamb shank (normally a $23 entrée). It took several phone calls to try to confirm this dinner. The owner, Cristian, called me back. When he said they weren't participating, I expressed my disappointment. He offered to honor the $15 3-course dinner which was actually the price of the 2017 dinner.
My friends and I decided that we would pay $25 per person instead since all four of us were going to order the lamb shanks. We didn't want to take advantage of Cristian. The hummus and babaganoush appetizers were bountiful and deliciously spiced. The dahlmas were tasty. The lamb shanks were large, fall off-the-bone meat surrounded by roasted vegetables.. It was a feast to taste and smell - yum. Desserts of baklava and key lime pie topped of the meal. Cristian was so hospitable and gracious that he made us feel like family, like we were royalty. We had a $25 pinot noir that was good for the price. We recommend the Los Alamos Pyramid unequivocally for food, friendly efficient service, and value. If you eat here and something is not quite right, tell them. You won't leave disappointed.

Great foot. The menu has enchiladas, chimichangas, tamales, taco burgers, stuffed sopapillas, indian tacos, and more. Everything was very fresh and they have a cute patio you can eat on.
You have to go inside the building to order, even though it looks like it would have a window like a food truck!
Portion sizes are fairly large.

The food was very good and the server had my order ready fairly quickly. I would ask them how they pack items for take out. The sandwich was perfect BUT the beet salad was tossed into a large container. It was weird that it was not put in a take out bowl but rather thrown into a box. It may seem like a minor complaint wish I had taken a picture of it.
