With a group of 8 we went for the menu having to choose between two possibilities for each course. We also accepted the suggestion for an all-in formula, matching wines being served at quantities "for drivers". An inventive and helpful idea….. The restaurant was very full, booking seems necessary. The food was ok without being exceptional. It took rather long time to receive our second course. One of the quests was not served at all and had seriously to wait until also his plate arrives. We were surprised the red wine glasses were not all of the same size. We would have expected the matching wine is served as the meal arrives but had to wait nearly until we finished to see the wine arriving. The quantity of wine for drivers was very very small. For the price, this is in fine not an attractive formula, better to stick to water. We do not see a reason to get back.

Nice young couple recently took it over and made a great little restaurant!
We had, as expected, again a very good meal. The new location is even better, the food is still delicious and service seems less nervous / more mature, and the location itself is very nice with a rather private terras.
The way of working is still the same- very limited choice, but everything you get is excellent.

We ate here while visiting Ghent. We had never seen a soup "fast food" restaurant before but our experience was very good. Excellent prices, tasty and healthy food and friendly staff. The place is small so you may have to wait to eat, but I think it's really worth it. Perfect for december cold. You get bread and butter and a few extras and sauces for free with the soup. I recommend the Thai one!

Our family-run restaurant, is located in the town of Lochristi (15 km from Gent) on its main street. Our restaurant offers Italian cuisine with Mediterranean flavours, ranging from appetizers to pasta, from meat to fish without neglecting the pizza. All accompanied by a good bottle of wine. Also during the summer we also have a large Terrace, where you can taste our dishes in a relaxing atmosphere.
Having tried several Italian restaurants around Destelbergen / gent i was surprised by the quality of the food.
Had a business dinner and found this Italian restaurant.
Starter we had buffalo mozzarella which was of very good quality, a pleasure to eat, so soft.
We both had past, I took fresh made pasta which was fresh made and tasteful.
Desert panna cotta was also very good.
Prices are a bit higher than the typical cheap but poor quality italian but you will get very good quality good at a reasonable price.
Will take my family back here soon.

Modern restaurant with a large variety of dishes. You can find us near the centre of Lochristi. Our central location gives us the advantage of good accessibility by car, yet we are located in a calm street, and we offer you a private parking. We have a spacious Terrace wich is semi-indoors and a separate garden-terrace. For persons using a wheelchair, we have an modified entrance and a modified toilet available.
We chose the T-bone in this restaurant but when we asked to have it "à point" we were told by the waiter "that it took that much effort to find such a good piece of meat that it could only be served seignant or bleu".
The chef subsequently came to our table to point out in person that if we wanted "à point" we had to order the regular steak ... So we did. And what we received was something grey, dead, bouncing and most certainly not à point.
Nevertheless still 3 stars because we had a way better experience in the past in this restaurant.

Expectations were high after the first Michelin star. We were not disapointed! We chose the menu of the month and discovered an interesting range of local dishes, well prepared, good wines, served by dedicated and professional staff. Price/quality relation is very good.

Modern design interior with additional outside Seating well set back on the main road with relatively easy parking.
Trendy sort of feel to the place with jokey notices on the wall. Good light food and acceptable service from young waitresses. Salads are fresh. Coffee fine if you like evaporated milk. Possibly not the sort of place you'd travel miles to visit but a decent choice if you're passing.

Maybe not the absolute top but certainly a good restaurant. Nice atmosphere, food for foodies, original interior and casual but professional service. We still like it a lot after four visits. Is there room for improvement, yes (e.g. main course form menu wasn't the best in the build up) but in general considering the value for money this place deserves it's Michelin star. If you want to fill your belly, there's an excellent kebab across the bridge but if you want modern fine dining Publiek is one many great restaurants in Ghent!

Never happened to me before. Calling for reservation I ended up on a private guys voice mail, so asked to call me back to confirm the reservation. The guy did call back and confirmed. Arriving on day and time confirmed the resto was closed. No respect for customers?

We already visited Restaurant Renard on multiple bigger family occasions and always, we were very satisfied by the quality.
This time, we went for the restaurant formula and this was even much better than the special occasions menus.
From start to finish, everything was nicely presented and well cooked. Friendly staff as well so definately a return worthy.
