Each time we go to Japanese restaurant we have a ‘standard’ order of sashimi and rolls. At Kemuri our waiter Rachel spent time to explain the menu items, and we ordered several new to us appetizers. We were happy with our selection, quality of food, and wonderful presentation. We enjoyed every course, and definitely would recommend this restaurant.

Brave New Restaurant

We welcome you... Again! We're serious about quality dining, but in a relaxed atmosphere. We've won a lot of awards for best overall restaurant, best views, best servers, but we'll never rest on our laurels. The best compliment you can pay us is to come back, and bring your friends! You can count on us to use the freshest and highest quality ingredients - always. We may occasionally improvise, or even run out of an item, but we will never offer you less than the best. Freshness also offers some flexibility to accommodate special health needs (check out the number of gluten-free items!), And we will do so to the best of our abilities.

Consistently at the top of the Little Rock dining scene. Tonight our group had avocado shrimp appetizers, the special, seared scallops and pecan encrusted trout— not a miss in the bunch. Extensive wine menu, great lunch spot as well. Chef Brave himself is always making the rounds. Yes it feels like a weird location when you are parking but once inside it all feels right. The main dining room or patio for ambience — overflow dining needs some decor or better lighting or something. Not up to other standards. If I had booked for romantic dinner I’d have been disappointed .

Disclaimer: I know little about Indian Food. Disclaimer #2: I have only eaten here at lunch, and then only the buffet. Proclaimer: the food is varied and excellent- you can't go wrong with any of the buffet items, and if your like me and not sure what something is, eat it anyway, it will be good! Friendly and efficient service, they treat you like family.

Nice atmosphere for a strip mall location, and it can be crowded. Plenty of parking, but it may not be close. Great value at lunch.

I loved this place so much! Their menu was delicious and the service quality was unbeatable. The place could use a bit more environment, but overall, it was great! They even sell Mediterranean snacks including fig newtons and stuffed leaves. Try the gyro meat strips and their salad! Delicious, small, inexpensive!

I had the pan fried pork dumplings. My kids had the 1/2 and 1/2 noodles and dumplings. I sampled their plates. My dumplings were very good. Loved the dipping sauce. I didn't care much for the pickled veggies. This is a "clean" reataurant so EVERYTHING is planet friendly...even the straws are made from plants....so prices are a little high to pay for all this planet hugging methodology. Good food and great service. There is a street side patio to eat on as well.

The Root Cafe

Reviewed By HaPPy t - Little Rock, Arkansas

After hearing & reading many wonderful things about this place, we finally tried it. My husband is not much on trying new places, but will on occasion, just for me. The Root is supposed to be known for great burgers, & my husband loves a great burger, so I knew he would be happy to get that while I tried something else. Well, let's just say, the hostess over promised & the kitchen under delivered! The sweet hostess was so excited to learn we had not been there before, & she enthusiastically greeted & seated us, promising us we would love it & would become regulars. My husband ordered the bacon cheeseburger, which the menu stated came with chipotle mustard, stout braised onions, & cheddar. He simply asked for them to swap the mustard out for mayo, as he's not a big fan of mustard of any kind, & definitely not chipotle anything. I ordered the pork belly entree. After watching my husband eat a few bites of his burger & not looking too happy, I asked him about it. He said it was ok, but had a funny, 'wangy' taste he didn't really care for or could even identify. So he opened his burger up on his plate & found 2 tiny pieces of bacon, the onions, & the bottom bun completely covered with some kind of sweet tasting pickle, maybe bread & butter, I guess. What was conspicuously absent was any cheddar cheese. Okay, so hubs doesn't like anything but dill pickles, but since no pickles were mentioned in the description, he didn't know to ask to have them left off. But cheese should have been on a bacon cheeseburger. He refused at that point to ask for any cheese, & just took off all the pickles & ate the rest of it, because we had had a long day, & were tired & hungry. He just didn't feel like trying to send it back. I, on the other hand, thought my pork belly entree was wonderful! But it was hard for me to enjoy it knowing how unhappy my husband was with his meal. We noticed while there that several of the waitstaff, the hostess, & I presume the manager, were walking around chatting with the other patrons asking about their meals. But no one ever approached us after we got our food, not even the enthusiastic hostess who had asked us what we ended up ordering & was so excited we were trying them. We were sure she'd come by & check on us, but she did not until we were leaving. We told her we were a little underwhelmed with the burger & didn't know if we'd be back. She said she was sorry but that's it. My husband did tell me on the way home that he'd be willing to come again for lunch, to give them one more try, & because the bratwurst I had planned on ordering is only on the lunch menu. Also, I recommend you call & ask what they are serving before you go. They are good about serving what is in season & fresh, & the on line menu doesn't always match what is actually being served that day.

While in town for a two-day training seminar, I explored the beer scene with another out-of-town trainee. I'm glad that we saved our appetite for Lost 40. He ordered the Turkey sandwich, also a recommendation from our helpful and cheerful waitress, and I ordered the brisket sandwich. It was comical watching my friend try to eat the massive sandwich and keep all of its contents together. My attempts to keep my overflowing sandwich was not any easier!

So, the food portions were plentiful. The food was delicious. And the service was fantastic. Phoebe provided us insight to both menus (beer and food). Also, with her wonderful personality and a smile to match, she put us right in the mood to settle right in and enjoy the whole experience. It's great to have such a good time like these.

Thank you for everything!
