Good simple pizza-by-the-slice sort of place. Have 4-5 trays of pizzas ready cooked, which are cut to your choosing, weighed (for price - about €1.30 for a 15 x 6 cm rectangle) and then warmed in small ovens for a minute of two. The pizza is very good, crisp base with good flavours. Popular with locals. There's a couple of seats inside, and then about 10 outside on the street - or you can go 30 metres up or down the road to public benches. A good place for a quick lunch; not a sit down place. Pizza not wood fired, but still good. Lunch for family of four, with soft drinks, €15!

Come Vuoi Pane & Condimenti

Come Vuoi Pane & Condimenti ... it's a romantic love story where ancient tradition meets, a few generations later, the creativity and the talent of a young artist of taste. The attention to classic recipes, but also the discovery of combinations and innovative tastes enable those who visit our Store to taste the recipes of nearly a hundred baguettes freshly prepared, or to create a new one of their own taste, called "Come Vuoi", even by using an iPad.

Our tour guide recommended this place if one only wants something simple to eat. Americans can think of this place as a fabulous gourmet version of Subway sandwiches made on delicious baguettes with gourmet ingredients. I had a smoked prosciutto ham, artichoke spread, marinated eggplant, and cheese Sandwich for a very reasonable 5.05 Euros. Great if you want to take something quick back to your hotel room. They have an English menu and you just check off the type of bread and ingredients you want. The ham was 1.40 E and each addition only .25 - .50 E additional.

service was really friendly and great, but the food was sub par. we sat outside which was on a very nice evening, but didn't see a lot of people and it gave us pause (most really good restaurants will turn you away without a reservation). we had meatballs and some oven baked vegetable dish both of which were just ok. it was our last dinner in lecce, and i wish we had gone elsewhere.

La Cucina Di Mamma Elvira

Reviewed By stephenddiamond - Livingston, New Jersey

We had dinner here and it was what you might call a mixed experience. We ordered three courses, "Anchovy fillets from the Cantabrian Sea", a pasta with lamb, and a cod fillet with Fava beans and roasted peppers.
We ordered a nice bottle of local white wine suggested by the waiter, which was well-priced.
The Cantabrian Sea music have a lot of tin cans in it, because that is what our first course consisted of-a tin of salted anchovies in oil, like we could have bought at the grocery store, along with some toasted bread.
I blame myself for presuming that a good restaurant (as this one was supposed to be) would be serving fresh anchovies for 13 euros. I think this restaurant should be ashamed to have something like this on the menu. If it has to be there, then warn diners who order it what to expect.
The pasta was tasty and well-prepared, although the lamb was ground, not in pieces. The cod was very good and as advertized.
We finished with a fig tart and espresso, both of which were very good.
This restaurant would have earned a 4 or 5 star review, but for the anchovy fiasco.
