We went for breakfast on a Sunday morning. The choices were excellent and the food was delicious. I had a vegetarian omelet filled with cheese, mushrooms etc. along with fresh fruit and choice of bread. For only 99cents one can substitute an excellent cinammon roll for toast.

What's better than stopping in a bakery after shopping (or picking) fresh strawberries, other produce or buying flowers and plants? Marilyn's Bakery is on the grounds of Johnson Produce, and there is lots of parking available. We enjoyed a strawberry donut ($1.50) and red velvet cupcake ($2.00) and delicious coffee. The strawberry pies looked amazing too. Worth a stop!

I live in Illinois, but we wanted to take my step-kids out for breakfast/lunch and they live in Hobart. I found this restaurant on line and it looked pretty good. It was better than good, it was great! 4 of us had breakfast, and 1 had lunch. Everyone loved their food. They also serve Kona coffee, which is my hubby's favorite, and it was very good! We enjoyed omelets, biscuits and gravy, really delicious pancakes, scrambled eggs, hashbrowns, sausage, bacon and a chicken wrap. The biggest negatives were the hashbrowns, which were homemade, but just meh. Nothing wrong with them, just nothing exciting. The place is also very small, and there is a wait on a Sunday morning. Other than those 2 minor things, everything, including the superb service was perfect!

I am giving them a 4 instead of the 5 as I am not a fan of their regular pizza, but their Stuffed Crust Crumbled Sausage is my all time favorite for 10 +!!! I am always introducing this to others.

Friendly staff, clean restaurant, cozy decor, make this restaurant a repeat location for lunch and dinner. The best pizza, without question, is the best pizza in town.

A family member had recommended this place so we stopped in for lunch on a Friday. The waitress was very nice and stayed busy the whole time we were there. The burrito zuizos were pretty good. While we enjoyed the food, we were disappointed with the atmosphere. The restaurant wasn't very clean....not just the dining room, but also behind the counter. I don't think we will be returning.

I recently went to my favorite breakfast spot for breakfast. The food is always fresh and delicious. I always see the owner as he frequently walks around the restaurant greeting customers. The food comes out fast and hot. There is something for every picky eater. I love their Greek omelet with delicious feta cheese. The portion sizes are huge. It's very family friendly and would recommend it to a stranger if they were looking for a good meal. You can really stretch your dollars here so bring the entire family. Enjoy!

My family enjoys getting sandwiches from the restaurant. The Steel Worker's sandwich is one of their best sandwiches. The Bunny Girl (ham on a french roll) is another favorite. The workers are always friendly and polite. You can eat in or carry out. If you need a sandwich for lunch or dinner, this is the place.

It is hard to believe that I am the first person to review this business that has been around since 1947. Maybe those that know about it want to keep it a secret. Well, the secret is officially out: Johnson's serves up fantastic fried shrimp!
We visited the first time the other day and ordered a pound of fried Gulf Shrimp - Lightly Breaded. There is no dining-in at Johnson's, so we took our order out to the car to eat. Yum! The shrimp were large and succulent and the light breading was perfect. As soon as we finished our pound, we went back in for a second pound. They offer a free tarter sauce or cocktail sauce with orders of a pound or more. Both sauces were tasty for dipping, but the cocktail sauce had a little too much of a barbeque taste for our liking. We knew we were coming for the shrimp, so we had brought along our own home-made horse radish cocktail sauce.
In addition to shrimp, they also offered scallops, perch, walleye, cod and catfish as well as fried chicken and a sandwich selection. Side orders, soups and salads were also available, but drinks were limited to canned soda or bottled water.
We will definitely be back for the shrimp, but I'm anxious to try their perch and walleye, too.
