Great in all respects, the meal was excellent, from the amuse bouche to the final petits fours. Special mention to the Miel de Briere starter. Service is very good and the setting is nice too. One of the best tables in La Baule.

We stumbled across this restaurant by chance, but full, and had to wait on a rainy Monday lunchtime for a table, but not for long. Service is rapid but friendly, food is typical of a French brasserie, we had salmon with avocado and cocotte for starters, both very good, followed by bavette and brochette, both cooked well and tasty.
We would recommend and enjoyed our lunch

I went to the Carpe Diem restaurant for a Sunday lunch with business guests from overseas.
The restaurant is located about 2km from the La Baule beach front, in a quiet area with plenty of parking places for guests. The decoration is sober with shades of anthracite and the main dining room has about 10 tables, including a very large one that looks like it can seat 10-15 guests. At the end of the dining room there is a large fireplace, which was a nice touch on the drizzly day when we visited.
The menu features about 6-7 choices for apetizers, 4-5 fish main courses, 4-5 meat main courses, and half a dozen desserts.
We had 4 of the apetizers and shared them, so we each tried 4 apetizers. The foie gras poëllé was a big success with everyone, as were the fresh oysters and the escargot ball. The scallops were also very good, but that particular portion was a bit small.
For the main course, we all had the slow-cooked sole, which was a delight and there the portions were so large that some of my guests could barely finish their plate.
My guests all had the Valrhona chocolate desert and were extremely pleased with it.
The meal started and ended with a plate of "mignardises" small free tidbits to tie one over until the first dish arrived, and at the end to accompany coffee. A nice touch. Overall the restaurant was half-full but service was extremely prompt and friendly.
A great restaurant to which I will be sure to return.

Tiny creperie in Lagarrige street. Crepes are very good, made in front of you (they use organic flour). Service is very friendly and prices are fair. Number of sits limited (can be a problem with large familly), but Terrace is opened when not raining.

The day of the triathlon may have been busy, so we booked a table for dinner after having a nice drink there earlier in the day...... but to have sat in the restaurant for dinner with the menu in hand for 40 minutes and being deliberately ignored to at least order a drink was unforgivable.
Other tables were rolling their eyes also.
As soon as we stood up to leave we were swamped but the maître de was so rude beforehand we just left. Very disappointed.

We chose this place for our only night off from the kids during a weeks holiday. Everything was good & really nice people running this little place - so cannot fault the service & attention at all. I guess without the kids we are more focused on the detail, which was nice but not stunning. We opted for oysters with muscadet as suggested - a good start. Followed by the poached egg (excellent) & the lomo with salami (quite average though the lomo was good). Fish & spanish pork for mains - both cooked perfectly though we did not love the sweetcorn mash. The special house lemon tart which we shared again was good - but not the best we have tasted, The rose wine was excellent though & the friendly service always helps. Almost feel bad for not marking excellent as obviously they care about every aspect - so would still highly recommend as a lovely place.

We had lunch at this restaurant after having read Tripadvisor recommendations. We chose the a la carte menu and got a starter and a main dish each. All the dishes were presented beautifully and tasted good, yet the prices were too high taken the food quality and volume into consideration. Also, the baguettes were the types that descent restaurants normally used for breakfast, not for lunch. We both have tried other restaurants in La Baule and believed that we could have got more for the same money. We would not visit this place again in future.

We went out for evening drinks and to watch the sun set with our boys. As usual they wanted to eat chocolate crepes and we wanted to drink wine! They were amazing. They accommodated both my boys needs and ours , even though they only sell cider. Which we didn't want. There is a beautiful wine bar next door, the amazing guy after realising we wanted to a bottle of wine and my young boys wanted crepes. Sat my boys outside right next to the wine bar next door. He discussed with them next door and they were arranging a suitable place to sit so we could have our young boys next to us whilst we drank wine next door. Exceptional service, and very accommodating. Very friendly, my boys loved the crepes and also the water bowls. My 4 year old spilt his water everywhere, and the staff were friendly and playful. Nothing too much here. Thanks for your lovely , warm and friendly service. .
Highly recommended.
