Fantastic traditional austrian food and impeccable service! The restaurant seems to be very popular and we understand why. The food was delicious and of the highest quality. A very nice ambience. A must visit in Klagenfurt.

I was there now my third time and I was never disappointed! This traditional restaurant is excellent in his relaxed old school style. It’s authentic and true, the Housebeer is great and the food in traditional very good style and quality! Allways crowded and they deserve it. Go there ... Brandee recommends

We were staying nearby on the edge of the Wörthersee near Klagenfurt, and went to this restaurant two nights running. The setting is lovely, particularly as the lights come on in the evening - with beautiful effects on the water. Service was slightly quirky, but efficient. (Not sure why everyone was wearing red slippers!) Food was excellent. Amongst the dishes we sampled were ravioli stuffed with spinach, ravioli with pumpkin, sandling (local fresh-water fish) with asparagus risotto and prawns, Turkey schnitzel, Venetian fish pfanne with salad and creamed polenta, strawberries and ice cream, lemon sorbet with vodka, and pancakes with jam. (I would say that creamed polenta is no better than it sounds!)

No need to stand on decorum. This restaurant serves traditional Austrian fare in a traditional Austrian setting. The food is the best!! It looks like a beerhall, and its packed with locals!! Service is good and very friendly. Definitely will return here.

Found this place via TripAdvisor and did not regret it. The best grill in Klagenfurt. We ordered Mixed grill where you will get 4 types of meat, delicious barbicue souce, french fries and two types of other souce. Simply delicious.
Next time in Klagenfurt absolutly my choice.

Kleine Strandbar mit gutem Essen in der Marina Reifnitz. 60 sitzplätze. Saisonbetrieb von Mitte Mai bis Mitte September. Bootsanlegeplätze.
Booked per emai. Got conirmation. Upon arrival my reservation got lost. Had to wait for 30 minutes. Got allocated to a shared table in front of the bathrooms. Was asked if we would mind, if a nice couple would join us. Turned out, that the group consisted of four people, which were squeezed in. People were residents and very loud and rude (thus owner of the place should have known). One smoked during our starters, another during main course. Got served pasta as main course - you could suck it through a straw because cooked to rags. One o the worst dining experiances ever instead of a romatic dinner.

Great local cuisine. Fresh water fish, very tasty Austrian dumplings, lovely dessert. Friendly, well-trained, English-speaking staff. What a wine we had! If only the place was closer to home ...

We had lunch at “Weidenhof” on a Saturday. Although this large restaurant was almost full, there were so many waitresses around that we never had to wait for anything. All waitresses were dressed up in local costumes. This harmonized well with the furniture of the restaurant, which also bears resemblance to the traditional Alpine style, creating a cozy atmosphere. Despite this somewhat rustic look of the decoration, this is an elegant restaurant, not a mainstream village inn. Candles on the tables, cloth napkins and two types of spread along with a basket of bread served as an amuse gueule clearly indicate that “Weidenhof” strives to provide a high-class experience.
The menu is quite comprehensive and creative, but perhaps a bit too much leaning towards meat dishes, so that for vegetarians or those who prefer fish the choice is rather limited. We particularly liked that one may order a portion of reduced size of any main course, which is reflected on the bill by the deduction of a fixed amount. However, the normal portions are in general not excessively large, but of usual size. The dishes we ordered were served within a fairly short period of time and fully pleased all three of us. Of course, “Weidenhof” is not cheap. But for a restaurant of this standing the price level is reasonable and so it offers a good value for money.

Our first visit to Portschach and one outstanding highlight was the Backerei Wienerroither! As you step up to the door you are greeted by the wonderful aroma of freshly baked breads and a display of cakes and pastries to die for!
Additionally the Restaurant Menu is extensive and well priced and the quality and quantity of the food is excellent so if you are in the area the Backerei Wienerroither is a must!
