Krnov (Czech pronunciation: [ˈkr̩nof]; Silesian: Karńůw, German: Jägerndorf, Polish: Karniów or Krnów, Latin: Carnovia) is an Upper Silesian town in the northeastern Czech Republic, in the Moravian-Silesian Region, the District of Bruntál. It lies on confluence of the rivers Opava and Opavice, near the Polish border. From 1938 to 1945 it was one of the municipalities in Sudetenland. Its history reaches up to 13th century when Krnov acquired city rights. The area is inhabited almost without any interruptions since the stone age.

I have to give 3* only, although Hermes would deserve definitely better rating a couple years ago. The meals are usually "humdrum", without any conception, just to quickly eat and go... What a change with comparison to tasty inspiring Greek cuisine some time ago. Hermes has a second restaurant some 5 km west from Krnov (city part Jeznik), that serves czech meals and is much better than old Hermes restaurant...

Malé Café is still one of the best places in the town, but the Coffee culture is rising quickly and competition became harder than ever before :) So that the staff recently decided for small inovation - you can eat simple meal around noon as well, very convenient... Malé Café serves (as probably the only café in Krnov) specialty coffee in various kinds of preparation: dripper, espresso, vacuum pot etc. etc. Very recommended to visit :)

Stylová restaurace a kavárna. Každodenní menu. Přijďte posedět k dobrému jídlu a dat si skvělou kávu a naše vlastní i bezlepkové dezerty. Těšíme se na Vás
Radniční Restaurant follows the tradition of reasonably priced restaurant that existed there before Velvet Revolution. The stunning launch some 2 years ago, charming Art Nouveau place, smiling staff and excellent PR undoubtedly deserved 5*. The quality has nevertheless began to slowly decline, meals are still the same and the staff lacks the enthusiasm of "early days". Honestly I have doubted between 3-4*, but still it is one of the best spots in Krnov, so that I stayed on "very good" rating.

This restaurant has very nice decor and average prices. It was not busy at all when we were there but it suited us very well as we were quite noisy (there was 9 of us). So nobody was complaining. The meal portions are big so you will get enough for your money there. It is a typical Czech cousine with few lovely little twists. Me and my family were overall very satisfied with food as well as service..... just one thing.... there is not choice for a vegetarians.
