This place has a prominent location along the river, near the PP Soraya bus station. We ended eating here twice and also hired a motorbike with them.
Unfortunately neither the food or the bike were any good. All the food we ordered was bland and/or odd tasting. While the bike had pretty much no suspension. Something that is ah, quite important.
Find your food and transport elsewhere.

Located just of the river side, it offers a cheap menu with a wide variety of dishes and a great choice for vegetarians.
We were served quickly to begin with as it was quiet. However we realised that there are were only 2 people serving for the entire evening, so once it got busy the service slowed.
The Curry had a great flavour and would have been perfect if it had more vegetables in and not solely tofu! We were given free nuts whilst enjoying our drinks and free fruit as a desert.
It got very busy later on, and with music playing there was a good atmosphere. Free wifi is available here also.

With mixed reviews and higher than average prices, I thought I'd check out Le Bungalow for myself.
My first impressions were positive ... a nice setting, and a rather extensive wine list.
I was also not upset to see the note on the menu claiming that everything is cooked fresh so could take up to 30 minutes to prepare and cook ... if only that was true.
Just after I ordered, I could hear what sounded like the pings of a microwave, and sure enough I was right, as within minutes I was served a microwaved and overcooked chicken breast main meal.
Don't bother, it's definitely not worth it.

The Khmer and Western food is good and reasonably priced. They serve traditional dishes, burgers, pasta and salad. The pineapple shake is particularly good, and it's a great spot to people watch over the market!

I have been stopping at this restaurant while I travel from and to Phnom Penh to Laos. Its a road side restaurant but you can get great meals. Menu is in Khmer and English. I order mostly the beef lok lak. Other dishes are great too! Would recommend if you are in Kratie to try this restaurant.

Open air Khmer/western restaurant overlooking a swimming pool and a tropical garden with fish pond. Serving breakfast, lunch, and dinner along with a full bar and a 2 for 1 happy hour promotion daily from 5-6 p.m.
Ate several meals here since we were staying at the hotel. Dinners were good, breakfasts were good. We liked the 15% discount. We liked the pancakes at breakfast.Dear TS, thanks for your feedback. We have shared it with our kitchen staff and hope we can continually improve our restaurant and our guests' experience.

The location is the big draw here, as it's on the second floor/rooftop and offers fun people watching and a great vantage point for lightning storms in the distance. The food is good, well-priced, good portions, and the staff was friendly but maybe a little forgetful...? (Had to remind them about a measly can of beer that seemed to be taking an awful long time...not a biggie, but then again, a can of beer doesn't take much time to grab). Also, I hadn't had wine in the six weeks of traveling in SE Asia so I tried a glass of red and was surprised that it came out cold. I still drank it, and maybe that's how even red wine is served in Cambodia b/c of the heat, but just a heads-up if you're planning on drinking red wine that it will be cold.

Friendly, cozy and comfortable, Le Tonle offers the best restaurants and guesthouse in Kratie. Founded in 2007, Le Tonle functions as a Tourism Training Center to increase the capacities of vulnerable youth from Northeast Cambodia. Enjoying a meal in our restaurant will directly support our young trainees. The restaurants offer a selection of traditional Khmer and Western cuisine. Our young, friendly trainees are more than happy to serve you and practice their English!
We heard a lot about that place, which is caricative. It is not the cheapest restaurant in town but it's worth it, we tried the lok lak and the fish amok which were really tasty.

Pete's Pizza Pasta & Cafe is the only restaurant in Kratie which serves exclusively western cuisine. We are located right on the riverside giving you sensational sunset views of the Mekong River.
We took both a gin fizz that was excellent and a pizza with ham, pine apple and mushrooms. Very thin and tasting delicious. If you want something different from Asian food, no problem to go there...
