Kerikeri, the largest town in Northland New Zealand, is a popular tourist destination about three hours drive north of Auckland, and 80 km north of the northern region's largest city, Whangarei. It is often called the Cradle of the Nation, being the site of the first permanent mission station in the country, and it has some of the most historic buildings in the country.

The food, the service and the setting were all wonderful.
Two of us had the fresh snapper served with green beans and ginger chilli and lovely sauce.
My husband had mussels cooked in chorizo broth.
All meals perfect.
Topped off with their delicious rosé, perfectly chilled.
We will go again.

Family friendly funky atmosphere relaxed and friendly, great food and great prices. Takeaway and dine in
As it was my birthday and I really had no idea where to go for a meal we decided to head towards Paihia. We took the wrong turning and ended up in Kerikeri so I suggested the Black Olive as we had never been there. We were the first customers as we hit it right on opening time at 4pm. We were greeted by the friendly Manager and ordered drinks, my husband had a large cold Stella Artois & I had a glass of Northland Mad Dog Chardonnay, as recommended by the Manager, which was very nice.
We ordered the Large Kaimoana (Maori for Seafood) Pizza & a Black Olive Salad, which was delicious. The Pizza was very tasty but could have been a tad hotter.
We sat outside on the verandah as it was a hot day. After our main meal, hubby ordered a Sticky Toffee Pudding & a long black coffee, I had another glass of the Chardonnay. Our total bill came to $96.00. We’d definitely go back, but as we are an hours drive away, we’d have to time it right, as they are not open for lunch. I noticed as I was coming back from the Ladies, that most of the tables had Reserved signs on them, and they had a team of about 7 staff getting ready for the evening, obviously a popular place for locals and visitors. They also had tables outside on the lawn for larger groups. The place is modern in design, staff are pleasant & attentive and the Ladies toilet was beautifully clean and prepped for the evening. A pix of hubbys dessert, I got to eat the thin biscuit wafer.

Our small family loved Cafe Jerusalem. Situated in a very leafy arcade next to several other restaurants - the waitress even said that we could get food for the 3-year-old from one of the other restaurants if there was nothing suitable on their menu - it's similar to Whangarei's excellent Fat Camel in its Mediterranean/Jewish food. Both healthy and tasty and of course easy to order a whole lot of small plates to share. The pita was fresh and warm (and there was plenty of it), the rice was saffron, the falafels were small tasty balls while we also had large spicy falafel-like things that I can't remember the name of. The spicy soup was delicious and helped clear up my head cold! This was an all-round top experience and the food came out very quickly (which really helps when you're got an easily bored 3-year-old).

"IT'S YOUR PLACE" ...That's what we like to say, so welcome to our place which is also your place. We enjoy the company of our local clientele who have become regulars at the restaurant and created a great community with whom we share our lives every day. It's the 'local' place to hang out for coffee and chats and a great place for meals all day. Our chefs are passionate about fresh food, prepared beautifully and served with style. We are committed to healthy and delicious food that satisfies all tastes, so whether it's our famously tender and tasty calamari, or our weekly fish dish specials, or a vegetarian delight, a hearty steak, or a divine dessert, we'll have something just for you. Our commitment to sustainability and environmental awareness is important to us, and we serve free range chicken, pork and eggs. We recycle everything we can from bottle tops (Kidney Kids Foundation fundraisers), to food waste (pigs, and compost). Our community, our tamariki (children) and the wider whanau (family) mean everything, and we support our local charities and services wherever and however, we can to support our community. So...Welcome...To your place.
Visited this restaurant for a coffee with friends and ended up staying for lunch. The coffee was good. The food was tasty and served very hot. We each had different dishes which included Chimmi Chicken and chips, vegetable curry with rice, b.l.t. Sandwich and chips and a chicken and leak pie. The bill came to just over NZD 50 for the lunch and NZD 15 for the coffees. Good value for money

We pride ourselves on providing you with a great tasting meal, in a relaxed environment.
Would heartily recommend the lunch tine specials here. For 10 dollars you get a good plate of curry, rice and Nan.
The food was tasty and particularly enjoyed the generous amount of chicken in the Jalfraezi which was perfectly spiced and really enjoyable.
Staff were great and waiter was friendly and nicely chatty. Will definitely go back again. Best value lunch I've had in Kerikeri.

We stayed at the hotel here, and were very surprised that a restaurant named “Food” could produce such consistently excellent and varied fare. In short, other than breakfast, you could survive nicely here for quite a while without getting in your car. We chose to eat here repeatedly over our three day stay, sampling among other things two curry dishes, the salads, a fish special, and their filet. All were very tasty, and the friendly service and unusual tropical environment made this a very memorable visit.

The location is most pleasant, by the water on an inlet and opposite one of NZ's oldest buildings - the Stone House. The restaurant itself is in a pleasant (not overdone) historical building. Interior decor sympathetic and not twee. Service very good, food first class. Even a simple cauliflower soup was majestic. The lamb was excellent. All served very attractively. Entrees around $20. Mains generally $35 to $45. Wine around $10 a glass. Plenty of parking and very decent loos. Very much recommended.

We made the trip here yesterday to do some wine tasting and have lunch. We enjoyed tasting the variety of wines, and of course had a bottle with our lunch. The dining room setting is lovely. We were looking out over one of the vineyards, but undercover from the rain. We all loved our meals, including the coffee and desserts. The service was great as well. Would definitely recommend this place.

Chang Siam Thai Restaurant is set in beautiful countryside in Kerikeri and is just a few minutes walk from the 'world famous in Kerikeri' Rainbow Falls. The Head Chef grew up cooking with his mum in Thailand and he and his Thai team create the most delicious authentic Thai cuisine. The chefs blend authentic Thai flavours to create sensational dishes and offer a “chef’s special” menu, which is immensely popular. There is an extensive vegetarian section and also Thai dishes for young adults. The extensive wine list is professionally matched to Thai food and is competitively priced. Lunches, takeaway and dinners available every day except Tuesday.Service is a top priority for the whole team and the restaurant has already become widely known for both its outstanding food and attentive (but not intrusive) staff. The whole atmosphere is enhanced by a pleasant décor, live jazz music on Friday nights.
Ordered takeaways for 6 adults. We all had different meals and our order was large. From the lady who took our order, to the wait time (only 25mins) and the food itself, we couldn't fault it. Will definitely be back again! A+ and big thumbs up!

Madly indian restaurant is fine indian cuisine restaurant . Which do dine in takeaway and deliveries also.
Lovely setting. Service very efficient and friendly. Reasonable prices. Wide choice of dishes.
We ordered Onion Bhaji and Poppadums to start. Followed by Lamb Rogan Josh which was very nice with soft tender lamb... we also chose Vegetable Biriyani. We were asked “mild, medium or hot” and we requested medium - assuming that this referred only to the Lamb Rogan Josh. When served, the Vegetable Biriyani was served with a yogourt accompaniment.
Advertised as Authentic Indian food we were surprised at the presentations. Our experience of eating “Indian” food is in UK and the Curry Capitals of Southall, Leicester and Bradford plus some award winning restaurants in London and the Provinces.
We have not seen Poppadums, Naan, Onion Bhaji or Biriyani served like this before. Poppadums are usually served with chutnies and pickles included. Biriyani is normally served with very mild vegetable curry side dish.
Biryani is not a curry at all but the curry connection comes from the mixed vegetable curry with which it is served in most Indian restaurants. Most of all, the Biriyani should be mild.
Madly Indian’s Vegetable Biriyani was so spicy ythat my wife couldn’t eat it - even covered with yogourt dressing.
We would question authenticity... but don’t want to be too negative - merely constructive
