You can't pass this place without noticing the line of folks waiting to order and the groups who've been served, smiling as they devour the ice cream. Michoacán ice cream is a speciality south of our border and we've been able to enjoy it in Kennett now for 14 years. Friendly and very reasonably priced, a great stop on a summer day.

Located in the heart of historic Kennett Square, Portabello's has something for everyone. Chef Owner, Brett Hulbert's menus offer tempting selections for lunch and dinner! Amazing burgers, artisan soups and sandwiches along with signature dishes which include, Firecracker Shrimp, Mushroom Crepes, Crispy Duck, Short Rib Stroganoff & Shellfish Fra diavolo! Come visit us...we look forward to cooking for you!
Like the great Michelin Starred restaurants in Europe, Portobello’s is worth a special trip - it is so outstanding. As grandfather in a three generation family celebration with seven diners, I got to taste most of the menu.
Among the starters, my favorites were the escargot, the mushroom crepe, and the mushroom soup. Since Kennett Square is the mushroom capital of the world, many dishes feature mushrooms.
Among the mains, the duck and crab cake were among the best I have ever eaten. The steak was superb. Even the side dishes were interesting.
For dessert, the chocolate cake and toffee cake were big hits.
Chef Brett visits every table, interacting happily with his patrons. His wife Sandra manages the floor. Both insure that every morsel delights their diners. John was our efficient and friendly waiter. As is the case with every great restaurant, the meal is a product of caring, competent, and creative people — chef and his staff.

Owner operated craft coffee house who celebrates the art and science of brewed coffee. Serving up a thoughtfully prepared menu of breakfast/lunch sandwiches & salads plus great hospitality in a modern/rustic space.
If you want a pour over this is the place. A great variety of hand made, freshly grounds coffees from which to choose. Their oatmeal is outstanding and their breakfast sandwiches were also very good. It's a cute, small place with great service, clean bathrooms and friendly people. It has a very nice vibe to it. I highly recommend.

Super cute shop and good looking pies but we won't be back. Another reviewer stated that their pie was bland - I agree 100%. My husband and I purchased a small apple and small apple crumb. The staff were very nice and the shop adorable but that was it for us. The apple crumb pie was undercooked and the only thing with flavor was the crumb topping. Nothing had flavor in the apple pie. We were so disappointed.

After a lovely holiday visit to chilly Longwood Gardens, we used Trip Advisor to find a recommendation for dinner in Kennett Square. Lily's was definitely the perfect choice. They seated us quickly, without a reservation. The menu was somewhat eclectic, though all in the Asian portfolio. My guest ordered filet mignon teriyaki (which was cooked perfectly, and came with a great mix of fresh vegetables). I had Bang Bang crisp shrimp, with honey walnuts. Again, the flavors were spot on, ingredients fresh and portions generous. I would highly recommend this venue, but bring your own wine if that is something you enjoy with dinner.

A creperie serving Savory and Sweet Crepes, Smoothies, Crepe Cakes and gluten free options
We discovered this hidden gem actually on TripAdvisor when we were searching for a place to eat during our first trip here to Longwood Gardens. It is tucked in The Market at Liberty Place, an unassuming space housing several food vendors. It's a dining pavilion...MoreJasmineOnTheGo, Thank you for the review. It was such a pleasure meeting and speaking to you and your husband. Cheers

In the midst of 1000 acres of one of the world's premiere horticulture centers, 1906 at Longwood Gardens offers a fine dining experience that is unparalleled. Enjoy lunch daily and dinner seasonally with a view of the Longwood Conservatory and the gardens of the former du Pont estate. GARDEN ADMISSION IS REQUIRED TO ACCESS THE RESTAURANT.
Reservations are needed! It was jan 3 and they still had the Christmas displays up. I gave it a very good because the restaurant is very elegant and the food was good. My daughter ordered the lobster over spinach fettuccini. She loved it but i thought the portion was small. Her mushroom soup was yummy. I ordered the pasta with shrimp. It was very good but just served warm. I had a beet salad. We topped the night off with the flower pot dessert. My daughter loved it. It was so pretty it had real flowers in it. I thought the flower pot which was made out of chocolate tasted weird.
Daughter had sangria and i had water. $120 total
We left the restaurant and spent over three hours strolling thru the gardens. It was one of the most beautiful places i have ever been to. I loved the whole experience.

Sovana Bistro has been a staple in the Unionville community since opening twenty years ago and has evolved into a highly regarded dining destination. The kitchen and bar create simple hand-made items, inspired by ingredients sourced locally at the peak of their season. We cater to dietary restrictions offering house-made gluten free and vegetarian options. The service reflects a gracious approach to hospitality and genuine concern for each and every guests' experience. We take that same thoughtful care in event planning, offering catering and in-house private functions.
Had been before in April and thoroughly enjoyed but recent visit with friends was underwhelming. Wrong pasta brought to table which was actually cold and not cooked properly. Eventually got fresh plate after friends had finished their meal. Manager advised server to take off cost of a beer but didn’t personally visit the table. Server was inattentive and we had to ask for drinks to be refilled and empty glasses to be taken away.
Other food was good but the service was a complete let down.
Should have been a nice experience while visiting from Scotland but unfortunately didn’t materialise.
