We stopped here for brunch on the insistence of a family member who heard it was excellent. I had the eggs Benny with salmon and was really underwhelmed. The English muffin wasn't crisp at the edges and the potatoes (home fries) were soft and very bland. The eggs were nicely runny but pale yellow and flavourless. Coffee was good and the service was friendly but I was really not that excited about the food because it was just 'blandly beige'. A splash of colour on the plate like a roasted tomato or slice of fruit would do wonders for eye appeal and a little texture would take it to the next level!

Situated in beautiful Kaslo, B.C. the BlueBelle Bistro & Beanery is a favorite - catering to both locals and tourists year round. We create our fresh, wholesome, homemade menu items using quality ingredients; organic and locally grown when in season, supporting our community's health and well being. We're open seven days a week serving breakfast, lunch, dinner, specialty coffees and desserts! Family friendly, fun dining! Great eggs benny, daily soups and specials, fresh summer salads, mexi bites, burgers, pizza and kids menu. Beautiful, dog-friendly garden patio, live music venue, fully licensed!
We often go to the Bistro when we're in Kaslo, at least once a month. It's got a good kid's menu (good options like a burger, grilled cheese, buttered noodles, cheese pizza etc.). The adult menu is extensive with plenty of options for all kinds of dietary restrictions (I especially love the Seedy Salad). The dessert options vary and are good.
One of the things I love about the Bistro is it feels like the quintessential Kootenay restaurant -- it's in a crooked old building on the corner of the street in the charming town of Kaslo. Inside, everything is slightly askew in the way of old buildings, with an old fir floor and a wood stove. There is art from local artists on the wall and a neat wooden bar. It's a fun, bright place and there is often live music. There's a reason we keep coming back!

Stopped in Kaslo in the boat and wanted a light meal to take away on the boat. They make an excellent homemade Sandwich with loads of fresh produce (lettuce, tomato, onion, cucumber). Nice little cafe with some baked goods and friendly staff. Will be in again when I want a nice homemade Sandwich!

Have been coming here for years for the fish n chips...I don't live in the area anymore but still love to visit when around. Love the Halibut portions are always nice and large - I've never left hungry. The fries are a home style and very fresh (we were there an hour after opening so all oils were fresh) - server was very friendly and efficient as she got fairly busy after we arrived. I mainly go for the fish n chips - my other half went for the Halibut Chowder - I wasn't a fan but I prefer cream chowders and this was a tomato based one. The server let us know before we ordered, he liked it though. Excellent food and experience....

My 17 year old grandson and I had dinner at the Kaslo Hotel and enjoyed it. The waiters worked very hard to get everyone served efficiently and did a fine job.
My grandson ordered fish and chips and said that they were excellent and my six ounce steak Sandwich with a caesar salad was also good. There was a good selection of beers and both of mine went down well.
We finished doff the meal with cream puffs, filled with chocolate sauce and covered with chocolate sauce. Yummy!
After dinner we had a friendly game of darts in the bar and each won one game. :)

I am a week late in posting this and after seeing the other reviews, I am sorry it took that long. We were so impressed with the quality and quantity of the menu items (definitely plan on taking leftovers for a second meal). We were, unfortunately seated near the reviewer below, who complained about her treatment by the waitress/food quality. There are always two sides to a story and to make this as short as possible, let me just say that we were all grateful when the complaining guest left. I hope her behavior was a result of a medical condition and not her usual personality. That said, we also found out from locals that even the vanilla syrup is made from scratch as well as the mayo and catsup, all the bread is made every morning and those breadsticks....can't wait to go back. As well, all the staff, including the waitress who wasn't a teenager, was absolutely delightful.

Even if you don't golf, this is a great place to eat, wonderful view of kootenay lake and the Mountains from the patio. Friendly, helpful staff. Plus, you get all this and very good food. Lots of variety on the menu and unique Sandwich selections. We always take visitors here when we do the circle tour drive.

We were 1 adult and 3 children in town for lunch and decided to go here for desert. We definitely made the right choice. We had key lime cheesecake, apple strudel, velvet cake and 5 layer chocolate cake and thoroughly enjoyed every last bite. This...MoreThank you for your review of our bakery. One of the items we are very pleased with since we renovated this spring is the addition of a refrigerated dessert showcase, where we always have a variety of desserts. Glad you enjoyed your selections.

Went here for dinner with friends
Pros: Pizza was flavourful, good sauce and crust
- live music was fun
Cons: The service was very slow and inadequate. Sadly, I do not fault the server. It appeared there was only one waiter for the entire restaurant.
We had to leave the table multiple times to get our own napkins, cutlery, request water, request beverages. We never really could get the attention of the waiter. It's for the lack of service that I'm giving only two stars as it was our continually having to get up ourselves to get anything which wrecked the experience.
The waiter himself was friendly enough but it appears the management failed him by not having enough staff to work
I would recommend this restaurant as overall all the food quality was quite good. But encourage management to address their staffing needs.
