Rannapaargu Café is located on Kardla beach and it offers a beautiful view of the sea. There are 76 seats and a Terrace in the Café. It is possible to order banquet tables and catering for groups.
Found this cafe during our motorcycle trip in Hijuma. Went for some dinner. Warm welcome. A menu is for everyone. You can find meals with fish and meat. Fast service. I was drinking my coffee and our dishes was coming to our tables. Only they almost forget to bring our drinks. But overall service was to good to rate that as a minus.

The distinctive feature of Priiankru Pub is the mutton dishes. The pub, on the island of Hiiumaa, was opened in the summer of 2006 and is a pleasant place to eat or spend your leisure time. In addition to the 50 seats indoors, the pub has nearly 70 seats on an outdoor Terrace. If you wnat, you can buy takeaway food. From time to time, live music evenings are held at the pub.
We were not looking anythin superb, just wanted to get something to eat, so we tried this pub for a late lunch. Grilled chicken was poor, but fish and chips were ok. The athmosphere was relaxed, beet good, and a pool-table available. As a summary, nice place to spend some time, but propably not just for dinner.

Viiger Café is located in the centre of Kardla and it offers pleasant homelike dishes at favourable prices. The specificity of the café is that it is open early in the morning.
Very popular among locals, at lunch time crowded, but very fast service. It's a real peace of history: an old workers cafeteria. Very cheap, I got main dish (fresh local fish + soup) for 6 EUR. Gourmans, keep away (all though food delicious), but nothing hipster or Michelin star-like. Still highly recommended.
Ararat Bar is located on the ground floor of Guesthouse Ararat and is open to everybody. Besides drinks it is also possible to order cakes and pies.

The bar is located in the Sonajala Hotel and it is a good place for smaller groups.
Offers "soviet-style" lunch on workdays. Prices are ok and service is friendly and fast. Salads you have to buy separately and not very good selection of them. Soups are really big so you better ask for half. Friday is pancake day. Other desserts are really nostalgic ones.

The Café is located at the foot of Kopu lighthouse. We offer little snacks, soup and hot and cold drinks. Souvenirs are sold in the building and there is also a toilet and shower there.
I ended up there just visiting one of the Hiiumaa's Lighthouses. This Cafe is right next to Kõpu Lighthouse middle of nowhere. The menu was not big but good enough to give a variety to choose between fish, chicken or pork. It has a outside playground and picnic area right next to it so you can enjoy your meal and not be worried about your active kids.

Linnumae Café is located on the border of the City of Kardla and it is a good eating place for families and larger groups. There is a fish pool near the café where each guest can try catching a trout. You can have the trout made for you by our chefs on the spot or you may take it with you and prepare a meal yourself. Before or after the meal you can take a ride in Linnumae Holiday Centre.
Good food and service. Cheap "day dishes" between 12:00 and 14:00. Taste of food is good and natural. Close to the main road, just before Kärdla city.

Young people pursuing their dream to run a quality summer restaurant in an old customs house at historical Suursadam grounds, on an Estonian paradise island Hiiumaa. You're welcome to enjoy the purest of nature and what it has to offer here. Local goods, cooking with passion & knowledge, attentive & friendly service, lovely atmosphere - we love our work and want you to get the best of experiences with Estonian kitchen. Best of luck & see you at the magical Ungru house.
Rather ok place to stay, clearly above avarage for accomodation on Hiiumaa. Rooms are ok size(ca 19m2). Would defenately benefit from AC as the room stayed hot during the night although it was just around 25 celsius when we visited. Can't open the window for night as mosqitos get to the room.
A good thing is that there's a restaurant downstairs. A bit mixed feelings with it as the first dinner was really good and staff nice. The 2nd and 3rd evening, however were a dissapointment, we were waiting our food for about an hour as the 2nd night all our order was not understood(though I'm native in Estonian) and the 3rd evening my pregnant partner got very raw lamb burger. We asked another one that would be well done, but it turned out Even less cooked AS the first one.
However, good potential and pretty hipster and would recommend for a 1-2 nights.
Our 2 year enjoyed the environment very much as there is a boatyard just next door and a beach about 1,5km.
