Kapolei, named for the volcanic cone Pu'u o Kapolei (loosely meaning "hill of beloved Kapo"), is locally known as Oahu's "second city" after Honolulu. Built on former sugarcane and pineapple plantations, Kapolei is an affluent and vibrant city that is growing rapidly. It has an ever-changing urban scene as well as the Ko Olina resort and marina community and the Disney Aulani Resort. Sportsmen can play a round of golf at the Ko Olina Golf Club before a sophisticated evening on the town.

We took the Hawaiian Railway on it's Sunday "ice cream run" to this great ice cream parlor. We paid $24.75 for three double scoop dishes which is, unfortunately, not out of line with Hawaiian prices. Everything is so expensive there! But they served great quality ice cream and since it was a hot afternoon we enjoyed every bite. We had to stand in a very long line to be served but the ladies in the shop worked quickly and efficiently. There are only a few tables outside so we walked around as we ate. There were a great variety of flavors and it is in a beautiful location right across the street from Disney's Aulani Resort.

Full disclosure. It is a bit pricey for a coffee shop but everything you are going to get here is delicious. From a Kona drip to a latte to an açaí bowl. You won’t regret coming by. It’s probably a bit less than your hotel breakfast. But not by much. Mahalo!!

Came here for breakfast this past Saturday and had a fantastic breakfast. The food was very fresh and tasty. The service was friendly and the prices were decent for Hawaii. The chef and staff were very aware of gluten allergies and assured us that food was prepared so as not to have to worry about gluten issues. We got there very early on Saturday but it gets busy quickly and you may have to wait but it it worth it!

My husband and I received several recommendations for Roy's Restaurant on Aulani Drive. The recommendations were spot on as our experience was fantastic. The service was 2nd to none and our menu choices were the same. Crab cakes for an appy, Ahi tuna and my husband had the trio of fish.. all was amazing. We were told we needed to order the chocolate souffle for dessert. Our waitress was so amazing she brought us both the Souffle AND the specialty pineapple upside down cake. it was simple out of this world... all of it!!

We stopped by after a big day of adventures and rich food and wanted something light. What a treat, such a treat that we came back a few more times during our trip. Great salads, delicious soups and kids meals that were some of the best we've seen.

Was looking forward to this night but honestly I was underwhelmed. Great view at sunset. Good service. Food just okay. Had the catch of the day with a few sides and found the fish a tad dry. Dessert was the real disappointment. Not that flavorful and did nothing t seem fresh. Had the carrot cake roll. Seemed premade if not frozen. Certainly not from scratch. Just average cuisine but for the meal net expect ed more

Our family of six came here yesterday for lunch before leaving the resort before going to the airport. The place was packed waiting for a table as it was pouring rain outside. It took about 25 mind to get a table. We had s great server and she was very attentive to our needs. Overall the food was good but for the price the portions were small. $24 for fish tacos seems to be a bit much.

My wife and I were in shock when the food came to our table. I had a Kalbi platter. When I ordered it I didn’t know exactly what it was but I was told it was ribs. It was awesome. I was shocked by the amount of food (and delicious food) for the price. As a basic, no frills breakfast place you can’t do better, in Hawaii or anywhere else I have been.

Phone: 808-674-2262. Thai Lao is located in the Halekuai Center in the heart of Kapolei, Hawaii (Oahu).
We came across this restaurant while staying at the Four Seasons Resort. We wanted an alternative to expensive hotel food, but didn't want to drive too far. This restaurant is a quick drive in the evening from the resorts, and definitely worth it! The food is fresh, varied, and very reasonably priced. Portions are generous. Waitstaff is helpful and polite. The glass noodles were tasty, as were the yellow curry, ginger tofu, and chicken pad Thai.
Had we known about this restaurant earlier in our trip, we would have definitely made a second visit during our week.
