The title pretty much says it all. Sometimes, on travels, you just miss something like a pizza. I understand that different people like different kinds of pizza, so I will tell you what I have missed that LMD fulfilled. First, it is a real crust - thicker than others but not Pizza Company thick or mass produced. It has that crunch on the bottom and the chew above that I like and cannot find elsewhere in Asia. (Frankly, it is a little better than my HCMC favorite, New York Pizza and my PNH favorite, Brooklyn Pizza Co., so that says something. The toppings are enough and not too much, and the cheese has that good quality taste and melt-ability. It's just good pizza, and I am surprised to find it here on the riverside. Oh yeah, the Greek salad had a creamy kind of feta and with a request for more balsamic was a good compliment. Happy travels.

An NGO Restaurant run by Buddhism for Social Development Action (BSDA). Enjoy breakfast, lunch or dinner in our training Restaurant, where former vulnerable children are taught cooking, English and service skills. We serve local as well as international cuisine, while also providing conference rooms with a great view over the Mekong River.
Great food, friendly staff, supporting a good cause. As they are all trainees, sometimes a little chaotic when there are several customers, but friendliness, quality of food and low prices, the chaos is soon forgotten. Definitely a go to when in the area.

We serve a variety of Western Style dishes as well as traditional Khmer food. Come in for coffee or for a full meal. Looking for a home baked dessert? We have plenty to choose from. Our cafe is air-conditioned so you can escape the Cambodian heat. Stay for just a quick bite or make it your work office for the day. We are happy to have you and look forward to you visiting us.
then this might be your go-to coffee shop. It's relatively comfortable; clean, with wifi and aircon. Near the riverfront. The ice coffee was way too strong and therefore bitter like all coffee here in KC. Price was steep at $2.50.Thanks for visiting. Yep, we are the hidden gem, with air con and great food! Glad you found us. Happy journey!

Discovered this little restaurant near the Kazuna Bridge, on the Kampong Cham City side, check out my photos and you’ll see the first two give you a visual of where it is located from the bridge.
First thing that hit me here was the variety and quantity of menu choices. Also the place was pretty much full of casual diners, both Cambodian and foreign. Kampong Cham City is not a hot spot for foreign visitors as is Siem Reap with Angkor Wat, the capital Phnom Penh or the Beaches of Sihanoukville or Kep so I kind of expected to find small family owned restaurants and the prices to be lower as well and this rung true here at Lucky 24 Restaurant (Leap is Cambodian for Lucky).
I have attached pics of the complete menu and you’ll note that there are two prices for each dish, 6000 and 12000 riel or $1.50 USD and $3.00 USD, basically just different portion sizes. I was dining with my brother-in-law and sister-in-law, both Cambodian born living abroad so I had excellent food critics with me and also wonderful was that we would try several dishes.
We ordered beef lok lak (fried beef in small pieces served with raw onion, tomato and a lime & black pepper based dipping sauce), deep fried fish, beef sour soup (somlah machu kreung sa ko) and steamed rice. Everything was delicious. The lok lak beef was tender and the lime & black pepper dipping sauce was fantastic. The soup was the right balance of tangy tamarind sour and slightly sweet spice paste (lemongrass, fresh turmeric, galangal, kaffir lime leaves, garlic, and shallots).
We liked it so much that we ended up returning a second time with our nephew, a local Khmer, who also said that the food was excellent. On our second visit we ordered the fried fish with ginger, fried Chinese vegetable with beef, sour soup with tomato and fish and fried rice with vegetable. Again all was delicious washed down with a beer this time.
Pros: delicious food, good menu variety, very reasonable prices, friendly service
Cons: can’t think of any

HAO AN Restaurant is located in the centre of Kampong Cham City. HAO AN is refer to a Chinese name with the meaning of Grand, Heroic, Safe and Peace. It's a well-known restaurant here for we open business for more than 20 years! Here we offer variety services such as Breakfast, Brunch, Lunch and Dinner with mixing of Khmer, Chinese and Europe Cuisine in our menu. In addition, there is also family Suki Soup in the evening. With many tables and rooms options, include outdoor seats, indoor seats, large aircon rooms and individual VIP rooms, meeting rooms, we try our best to fulfill your need. And lastly, we accept table Reservations and Delivery around Kampong Cham City.
My wife would rate this as poor. She does not like Chinese food cooked with lots of 'gloop', that oil and stock mix used to add flavour and lubrication to ones wok. She also suspected theat there was a high 'gourmet powder, quotient.
I don't mind my wok'd food with a bit of 'gloop', or very greasy as my wife puts it. I enjoyed the food, my minced pork with aubergine was also full of flavour. I enjoyed the chicken with cashew nuts, but not the 'modern salad' which was heavy on some compromise between mayonnaise and salad cream.
The menu was interesting and exceptionally varied to say the least. Quite an experience, but if you don't like 'greasy' food either avoid or be careful with your choices.

Occupying a prime corner on the riverfront, this old favourite serves an enticing mix of Khmer curries and Western favourites, such as big burgers and tasty sandwiches
The only option to sit outside and watch the world go by 'Sisowat-Quay-style'. Somewhat expensive food, smallish portions. The young staff is very, very friendly. The Cambodian owner is a slighly disgruntled individual. Sometimes they put other guests orders on your bill, be careful. Skip the food, stay with the Cambodia can ($1).

Having dinner or dinner and drinks is a delightful way to spend an evening if you happen to visit Kampong Cham. The staff is very attentive and they have an eclectic menu ranging from pizza and hamburgers to typical Khmer dishes. Great breakfasts at a great value. The last time I was there I had the bacon and eggs which came with a baguette. That was $2.50. In addition I ordrered crumpets with butter, jam,and honey along with coffee. That was another $2.50. My friends ordered a typical Khmer breakfast of pork fried rice and vegetables topped with a fried egg which was just $2.00. Nice spot to just chill out in the evening, sitting outside the dimly lit restaurant and pub, having a cocktail or beer and watching the people stroll by. The restaurant is right on a corner and has a great view of the river and one can see the Japanese Bridge in teh distance. I've been there at least a dozen or more times and have never been disappointed.

We had dinner at Chaplin's and had an ambiguous first impression. While the Charlie Chaplin-themed riverside restaurant/bar is clean and well-lit, no other customer was there. We found the sandwiches and burgers passable, but the pasta sauce was nasty canned stuff. For us Chaplin's is a nice, quiet place to chill out although we won't be coming back for the food.

With it's great view of the Mekong River, free wireless, relaxed atmosphere and delicious Khmer and Western food, the restaurant has quickly become a popular hang-out spot for locals, expats and tourists alike.
I was staying in the guesthouse above, so for convince I ate here a couple of times. The staff was friendly and could speak very good English. Their breakfast selection is very large, as well as their western and Khmer options. I ordered the ham and cheese Sandwich. It came on a baguette with the cheese toasted on top; I really enjoyed it. The Khmer curry is also pretty good, but not the best I have had. Also, the shakes are great. I tried the Oreo shake, and I had a taste of the banana shake, and they were both fantastic. I also tried the lime soda, which was quite refreshing. The atmosphere and view of the river are great. The prices are pretty good for the quality of the meal. I would highly recommend.

This place attracts local students and tourists who come pass by. It is a fairly new cafe/restaurant that offers up various assortments of teas, ice creams and hot pot soups. It is run by a wonderfully friendly Taiwanese lady, who makes her Taiwanese style hot pot soups which are unique and deliciously healthy. I had a vegetarian-style hot pot soup with a group of friends at a very affordable price considering the quality of the food. This kind of food, even for Kampong Cham standards is good value (which is why it is even affordable for students).
If you ever happen to drop by Kampong Cham, I highly recommend you pop in for a visit, as you can't beat the value and quality of ice creams, teas and soups that are offered anywhere else in town.
