Upon arrival to Uji and less than five minutes walking distance from JR Station, we saw a queue waiting to enter the tea restaurant (Nakamura Tokichi Honten. Due to time limitation, we just purchased the ice cream cup with matcha flavour and proceeded to other scenic spots. The taste of ice cream was delicious and highly recommend to travelers when visiting to Uji.

Uji is famous for Matcha green tea and everything imaginable flavoured or made with it, so I was eager to try this restaurant. So were many others, because even at 11am there was a queue and waiting list! It was so popular that there was a 50-minute waiting time for a table, but there is an air-conditioned waiting area in the reception area with Seating.
I opted for the hot matcha wheat noodles, Japanese pickles, rice (sprinkled with matcha), a dessert of green tea jelly and refills of good quality green tea, all overlooking the Uji river. The price was 980 Yen.
The service was efficient and friendly. It was a delicious balance of flavours and worth the wait (it wouldn't have been if left any later - there was a waiting list of 30 names when I left!)

京都の城陽市に昔からある台湾ラーメンで有名なお店です。
こじんまりとした店内ですが、活気のある店です。
醤油ベースのスープに、ニラ、辛し、ミンチが入っており、ピリリとしながらあっさりとした味わいになってます。食べ終わったころには、程よく汗ばむ感じがします。

Recomended by our guest in Jojo, sincerely a great experience. The beautiful place and atmosphere is topped with a good quality product. The menu isn’t in English, but even so is easy to get an idea of the dishes. The service is great (you can also call by tablet for extra hashi), even when the waiter forgot our misoshiro. The price is also adequate for the traditional experience we were looking.

府道300号線の久津川駅周辺に位置するお店。
海鮮の名にあるように、海鮮の鮮度や味は抜群。コース注文でしたが、アラ煮は最高でした。値段以上に量もあり、お得度も高い。

もう25年以上は通っています。変わらない味と最低限の値上げでやってきてくれてうれしい限りです。

This bar was my introduction the Japanese Izakaya three years ago (2014) and I've use it as a measure of every Izakaya in everywhere since. I can not explain how much I love this place. It is small, friendly and has a very authentic feeling. The owner as well is a cool sociable guy and I was made to feel very welcomed. Even visiting now, three years later, I still get a warm, comfortable, friendly and authentic feeling. If you're ever in Joyo-shi Kyoto, I recommend you pay a visit. The menu is in Japanese so I would also recommend bringing along someone who speaks the language if you do not. It's a great opportunity to me locals and makes friends as the client base has a varied age range.

平日に日替り定食があります。基本の信州味噌ラーメンにご飯と当日のおかずがセットで税別1000円です。おかずは、大きな唐揚げでした。味噌ラーメンの店なので、少し追加すれば、北海道味噌の辛口とか九州味噌の甘口とかにもできます。北海道味噌がちょっと辛めで美味しかったです。
