This is a must if you enjoy coffee and/or chocolate. The service is knowledgeable and friendly. There are several milk alternatives for those who can't drink regular milk. Ironically, there were more choices at this shop here in this small town than in the Portland metro area! If you have a mocha or hot chocolate, they give you a spoon of melted chocolate to enjoy before your drink. My husband said he had the best mocha of his life from this shop.

We have eaten here in 2008 and again recently. It is so good that we want to give it a positive review for travelers to this part of Oregon.
Last week we enjoyed two really great breakfasts here. You can sit in or outside and be certain of quick and friendly service. The huevos rancheros were exceptional. I had a veggie scramble with biscuit and my only regret is I didn't add gravy.

This is one of 3 I think pubs in Joseph, but by far its the nicest location. Still on the main street through town, but the buffer of the beer garden/patio seams to calm it somehow.
We were there in late August, it was quite cool, but because we had our dog with us, we needed to be outside. But there are lots of heaters around so it didn't feel too chilly.
Food was great, beer list is the best in town.
It was very cozy inside, but packed because it was cool outside.
Definitely would stop here again.
Oh and the servers were to notch, friendly and fast.

Under new ownership! Formerly Mad Mary Soda Shop, the Silver Lake Bistro now serves soups, sandwiches and fresh-made baked goods including breads, cookies and an assortment of muffins. We also offer expresso and blended coffee drinks.
My husband and I just couldn't pass an opportunity to sit at the soda fountain and share an amazing banana split. (the banana was perfectly ripe and the portion generous!) We reminisced with the '50's music playing and found ourselves spinning on the fountain chairs.

This was such a great little find, we had breakfast there every morning! The food is simply amazing as well as their portions. Coffee is deliciously perfect. Best homemade scones I've had.The staff was super friendly and knowledgeable. The setting is just perfect, indoor/outdoor right next to a little creek. I was impressed that the staff and locals knew each other by name as well as their orders; so you know this place is fantastic and loved by all who have the experience! Treat youself and make the stop.

Some of the best service I have had anywhere- including Hungary. The food was excellent. Only one option for dinner each night, but I guarantee it's always phenomenal. We had the pork schnitzel with red cabbage and potato au gratin. Very good wine and beer list.

One margarita just about knocked me over! Slept for two hours afterward. Anyway, nachos were good. Staff was really friendly. We didn't have anything else to eat since it was a mid-afternoon vacation snack. Nice place.

It's the local cafe in town. Old timers and locals hang out and chew the cud. The wood paneling is decorated with the burnt brands of local ranches. A signed poster commemorates last year's rodeo. I had the vegetable omelette. The kitchen was slow, but the place was full and if you're in a hurry, you can go a hundred miles down the road to the next place. The omelette was generous and the service friendly.

We were in Joseph for the Thunder Run Rally and the Stubborn Mule was the main sponsor of the event. Fabulous staff, fantastic food. Prices are like any other Pub and very.

Pleasant outdoor dining. I had the small tri-tip, flavor was excellent and size was just right for my appetite, reasonable price. Salad was okay -not amazing like Embers Restaurant across the street. Rest of party liked food okay.Thank you for taking the time to review our restaurant. Enjoy the rest of your summer!!
